《MMORPG: Martial Gamer》Chapter 1054. Plot

Wang Yu and the rest from Quan Zhen Sect had been playing the game for a while now and had used underhanded means countless of times. However, cheating and extorting someone was still a first for them…
To make someone as benevolent and kind-hearted as Wang Yu adopt such means, it could be seen just how annoying Feng Yun Realm was in Wang Yu’s eyes.
If all he did was put on an arrogant act and shoot his mouth off, it would have been fine as Wang Yu wasn’t the kind of person to bother with how others behaved in front of him. The reason why he decided to be so ruthless to Feng Yun Realm was because Wang Yu was almost certain that Feng Yun Realm was the one that was hiring people to tarnish his reputation on the forums.
After all, the matter of the City Lord’s Seal being in Wang Yu’s possession was made known to only a handful of people. Even amongst the Apocalypse players, the number of players that knew of this was less than ten. However, for Feng Yun Realm to know of this matter, clearly there was a leak of news from the players of Apocalypse.
It was pretty normal for a large guild such as Apocalypse to have a few spies amongst their ranks. However, this time around, the spy came from the core members.
It’s to be known that the core players from large guilds such as Apocalypse were treated relatively well, and were not much different from the treatment received by those professional gamers. To be able to directly buy over a core member of such a guild, the benefits offered must be far above the treatment that they could receive.
Wang Yu couldn’t help but link this incident to Void Blade’s grievance with Sanguine Alliance. Unless it was someone as wealthy as Feng Yun Realm, it was basically impossible for a player to directly bribe over a core member of another large guild.
Originally, it was a private feud between Wang Yu and Feng Yun Realm. However, Feng Yun Realm had decided to lay out this opportunity right in front of Wang Yu. Furthermore, Wang Yu was a person that would act in kind and wouldn’t take a beating lying down. Not killing Feng Yun Realm a few times was already considered being merciful towards him.
Of course, if it were some other ordinary player, they would rather die a few times than this…

At this moment, Feng Yun Realm was over the moon after getting his hands on the City Lord’s Seal. He condescendingly said, “Daddy once said before, this City Lord’s Seal will be mine! Surnamed Iron, since young master here recognises that you are a talent yourself, as long as you call me Master Feng, I will pay you extravagantly to be my bodyguard!”
Even though Feng Yun Realm was extremely arrogant, he still had eyes for talents and could see that Wang Yu’s means were extraordinary. Unfortunately, this brat’s brain was a little loose. He actually had the gall to provoke Wang Yu right in front of him.
“F*ck, this guy is autistic…”
1When everyone heard Feng Yun Realm’s provocation, they started worrying for him. This bunch of people had experienced and seen all sorts of people in their lives, but this was the first time they saw someone like Feng Yun Realm who was so eager to put himself on the chopping board.
Wang Yu couldn’t even be bothered with the bullsh*t that was coming out of Feng Yun Realm’s mouth. After sending a message over to Old Nine to transfer the money over to him, he promptly stood up from his seat and left the auction house.
At the end of the day, violence was prohibited in Freedom City… After all, Wang Yu was still a grandmaster of his generation. Arguing with such a trash would be demeaning for him. If he were to ignore his ramblings, Wang Yu naturally wouldn’t be affected by it either.
Seeing Wang Yu take his leave, the rest from Quan Zhen Sect followed after him.
“Haha! Trash!”
Feng Yun Realm laughed hysterically at such a scene and flashed his middle finger at the figures of Wang Yu and the others.
…
Having sold the City Lord’s Seal, the knot in Wang Yu’s heart had finally been resolved.
Even though Feng Yun Realm was like a fly that kept annoying him, such small matters wouldn’t affect Wang Yu’s current good mood.
After ongoing for a few hours, it was almost the break of dawn. The originally packed and crowded Freedom City had become relatively emptier.
Wang Yu was an extremely regimental person, normally he would be offline and in bed before 10 pm everyday. It was rare for him to play the game through the night.
“I’m off to sleep!”
After leaving the auction house, Wang Yun stretched his back and yawned as he waved his goodbyes to the rest from Quan Zhen Sect.

Fearless raised his hand and held onto Wang Yu and said, “F*ck, you’re leaving so early? There are some fun modes to play later on.”
Wang Yu waved his hand and said, “Brother here is different from you all single dogs! Brother has better things to play with…”
Before he could finish his sentence, Wang Yu had vanished into a trail of white lights.
“That b*stard!!”
All of the single people from Quan Zhen Sect could only grit their teeth and clench their fists as they endured this insult from Wang Yu. Shortly after, they all turned their gazes on Spring Halo and said, “Spring dog, surely you’re not going offline to sleep with your wife too, are you?!”
Wang Yu was the only person that everyone dared not to provoke. The grievances of the bunch of single dogs could only be directed at Spring Halo, who also had a wife himself.
After receiving everyone’s hateful gaze, Spring Halo immediately scrapped his initial idea of going offline and hurriedly said to the rest, “Don’t play around. Old man here isn’t as energetic as Wang Yu that young man. I still have to earn the money to feed my kids.”
“That’s more like it!” Everyone nodded in acceptance upon hearing Spring Halo’s answer and said, “That’s a true comrade!”
At this moment, Fearless interjected and said, “Enough, stop playing around! Put these equipment on, one person per piece!” As he was speaking, Fearless took out a stash of equipment and passed it over to the rest.
After receiving over the items, everyone’s eyes widened.
Even though the attributes of these equipment weren’t outstanding in any way, they all had a unique effect, and that was to conceal the identity of the player wearing it.
The ability to hide one’s identity, in the eyes of ordinary players, was considered a relatively useless ability. However, in the eyes of the bunch from Quan Zhen Sect, it was considered a top tier ability.
After all, for this bunch, there was nothing more exhilarating than hiding in the dark and ambushing people…
After changing into Fearless’ equipment, everyone couldn’t help but remark, “Ke ke, Fearless old dog truly lives up to his name. Despicable as always, but I like it.”
Fearless irritatedly said, “Bullsh*t, daddy here is morally upright and magnanimous! Don’t slander my name with your words.”
1“Hmph!” Everyone replied in disdain, “Then why would you bring such equipment to an auction?”
“He he!” Fearless gleefully said, “I originally didn’t plan on using it here, but now that an opportunity has presented itself, how could I possibly let it go? Alright, enough talking. Everyone, hurry up and hide yourselves. Feng Yun Realm will be here soon. Just wait for my command.”
“We’re doing it here?” everyone asked simultaneously, perplexed at Fearless’ instructions.
Fearless pointed at the guards along the streets and asked them rhetorically, “Do you all think that there is a better place than this?”
“Eh… you’re right!”
After analysing their surroundings, everyone sprang into action. Some of them went into hiding while others went to their respective positions to prepare for the ambush.
Even though Freedom City had a lot of guards, they were stationed to ensure the security of the streets of Freedom City, and were not meant to provide any service for any individual player.
Thus, the guards would normally be situated in public areas. There were usually no guards located outside the doors of a player’s private property.
Even though the auction house was a building on a larger scale, it was also considered as private property. Thus, in the vicinity of the auction house, there were no guards at all. In other words, it was the only blind area in the entire Freedom City and was the best place for players to commit illegal deeds.
Just when the players from Quan Zhen Sect finished setting up their ambush, Feng Yun Realm and his gang of followers left the auction house shortly after. Seeing the smile on Feng Yun Realm’s face, it seems like he has yet to find out the secret behind the City Lord’s Seal.
Even the players from Quan Zhen Sect that were situated quite a distance away from him could hear the words of flattery that his followers were showering him with.
“Ha ha! The one surnamed Iron must be infuriated to the point where he can’t have a good night’s sleep! Young Master Feng is truly formidable.”
“That’s right. What bullsh*t number one expert! In the face of our Young Master Feng, he didn’t even dare to release a fart!”

Surprisingly, in the fantasy LitRPG genre. A girls death forms the foundation for a plan centuries in the making. So if you like the concept, please bear with me, and hopefully I'll reach the high standards I know you have. Edit (04/04/2018): Witness the power of my complete lack of any artistic talent! There is now cover art for this fiction. Its just barely better than the default, but hey, minimalism is in, right?

The Legend of Ghost
This is a quick novella origin story to one of fan-favorite characters in the ZERO universe, Sam Dobbs, a.k.a. Slade Gardner, a.k.a. the Ghost. I wrote it for current ZERO series fans, after many insistent, fervent, teary-eyed demands. Still, I think it pretty much works as a stand-alone, so I'll post it here. (He gets the name Ghost later, not as part of this story...this is just the why he decided to do what he did, being slightly insane and all.) Lots of easter eggs for current fans. 15k words total, chapters will be approx. 2.5k each. Oh, and if you get turned off by crazy, hyperintelligent antisocials being crazy, hyperintelligent antisocials, this isn't the story for you. ;)

The Immortal Epic
After all that happened... I do think I would thank dr Errhart if I were back to the day this all started, knowing all that happened after. Of course, if I were back on the day this all started with the implied knowledge, I would take and play with his soul in retribution. Oh, how have I grown since then. I'm almost nostalgic. Almost. To tell you the truth, I don't really remember the first days. Yes, I remember me working at the facility, with all the downs and downs but after the experiment, those first days afterwards, I can't bring for the life of me those moments in the cold dark broken room to mind. I never did discover what happened during the experiment. What could occur to burn the whole facility to a crisp and shut down both the main and emergency power supply? Dr Errhart always seemed to fail in impossible ways. When I got out of that underground tomb, I discovered what the experiment did to the world. Beast and monsters feed on the unprotected if left to fester, powerful men from the remnants of my old world have risen up to take their own and might takes up new forms. Oh, and here you must be perplexed. I totally forgot to tell. While the experiment doomed many in the facility and the world above, which wouldn't have happened had they not ignored my notes on the project, I feel like it was all worth it. For at the cost of the precious but secret arcanium, we got our greatest tool yet. Magic.
