《MMORPG: Martial Gamer》Chapter 1352. The Crisis Of Quan Zhen Sect
Advertisement
It seemed like the bunch from Quan Zhen Sect would not be able to use the City Lord Seal at the moment. As for selling it, they would have to find a reliable buyer, otherwise, they would be finding trouble for themselves.
A guild that would be able to purchase a City Lord Seal would not be your ordinary run-of-the-mill guild. If they were to eye Wang Yu’s Harbor City, it would be extremely troublesome for Quan Zhen Sect. After all, Wang Yu wasn’t so overpowered to the point whereby he was able to fight a ten thousand strong army with him and Quan Zhen Sect alone.
One should not be afraid of a thief that stole, but rather one that held a grudge. These large guilds possessed an abundance of both manpower and wealth, thus, it was easy for them to recuperate from a battle in a short while. Quan Zhen Sect only had those few members and would definitely be unable to keep up with them.
Thus, the Saga City City Lord Seal would temporarily remain in Wang Yu’s possession for now.
…
Now that the shipping route has been opened, the bunch from Quan Zhen Sect managed to make it back to Harbor City safely.
Throughout the entire day, everyone had been busy and were either killing pirates or travelling abroad. The moment they arrived back in Harbor City, it was already night time.
Given Wang Yu’s routine, the moment he returned back to the city, he logged off immediately to rest, while the rest from Quan Zhen Sect returned back to Twilight City
Apart from group efforts like taking down a dungeon, the bunch from Quan Zhen Sect normally didn’t play the game together. Thus, the moment they arrived back in Twilight City, they all split up and did their own things.
Boson’s and Spring Halo’s characters were both combat classes, and thus they were able to train and level up on their own.
Fearless, on the other hand, was different as he was a Priest. Even though he had the skills as a player, his damage was severely lacking. Now that no one was willing to bring Fearless along with them, Fearless could only loiter around the streets and do nothing.
However, Fearless had long been used to such a lifestyle, considering the amount of dirty work that he had done all his life. It was precisely due to this that Fearless was able to take time out to consider things that others usually would not have considered.

In the Black Dragon Guild’s office back in Saga City, Lava Teeth was currently experiencing a toothache over the matter regarding the City Lord Seal. All of a sudden, Fire Split Tooth pushed open the doors to the office and announced, “Boss, I’m back!”
“Oh?” Upon seeing Fire Split Tooth entering the office, Lava Teeth hurriedly sat upright in his chair and asked, “How did the matter go?”
“Don’t mention it anymore!” Fire Split Tooth sighed and said, “Do you know who was the one that snatched it away?”
“Who?” Lava Teeth asked immediately.
As the top brain of a large guild, the most miserable thing wasn’t having their quest NPC snatched away from them, but rather not knowing who was the one that did it.
Lava Teeth had been holed up in the office writing battle reports all day long, thus he did not know the details regarding the enemy, causing him to worry over the issue to the point of plucking his hair out. Now that he heard that they had information regarding the identity of the enemy, the stone in his heart had finally been lifted.
“It’s Quan Zhen Sect!!” Fire Split Tooth exclaimed in a serious and deep tone.
Upon hearing this, Lava Teeth, on the other hand, was at a loss and said, “Quan Zhen Sect? What’s that? Are they very strong?”
“They are not only strong, they are superbly strong! They were the overall champions in the China professional league and are experts amongst experts!” Fire Split Tooth exclaimed.
“Professional league? And they were the overall champions?” Upon hearing what Fire Split Tooth said, Lava Teeth was stunned speechless.
Back in Japan, the competitive scene for virtual gaming was relatively weak. Thus, the number of experts that they had, compared to China, was severely lacking. In fact, they did not even possess a decent competitive team at all. Professional experts were considered a legendary existence in the eyes of these Japanese players.
Even though the gaming scene developed relatively later in China, there was an abundance of land and people in China, thus it was easier to find experts amongst them. The standards of the professional experts had all along dominated the top three in the global ranking leaderboards.

As for the overall champion of the professional league in China, this was an opponent entirely out of their league. Thinking about how overbearing their enemy was, Lava Teeth was momentarily stunned silly.
A short while later, Lava Teeth sighed and said, “No wonder it was so difficult to deal with ten over players! They were the champion team in the professional league!”
“That’s right…” Fire Split Tooth involuntarily sighed as well.
Following which, Lava Teeth added, “Losing to them isn’t too shameful on our part, haha…”
It could be said that all those big bosses were equally shameless… Sending such a large number of players, only to be played with by ten over players could still be considered to be “not too shameful”.
“En!” Fire Split Tooth nodded and said, “That’s why the asking price of the players in China was higher!”
“Asking price? What asking price?” Lava Teeth asked blankly.
Fire Split Tooth answered, “Didn’t you ask me to find people to steal the City Lord Seal back? How could you have forgotten about it so soon? They are currently already on the way.”
“I didn’t forget about it…” Lava Teeth added, “However, our opponents this time are the strongest team in the whole of China, how could you find another group of people stronger than them?”
“That’s where you’re wrong!” Fire Split Tooth said, “When it comes to stealing, it is not all about the strength of the team. The people that I hired are professionals in this field.”
“Professionals?” Lava Teeth fondled his chin and asked, “How much did it cost?”
“500,000 Gold!” Fire Split Tooth said as he flashed all five fingers in one hand.
“Pfft!” Lava Teeth spat a mouthful of blood upon hearing the price, “F*ck, we have to dig out our entire life savings just to steal a City Lord Seal? The asking price is extremely high.”
The prices of goods in Japan were relatively more stable as compared to in China, and thus, the purchasing power of gold was higher. 500,000 Gold was already worth a few million in China, thus, the purchasing power of this amount of money was higher in Japan.
“It can’t be helped!” Fire Split Tooth said helplessly, “Both sides are top tier experts… Based on their words, this price was already considered a discounted one.”
What Fire Split Tooth said wasn’t wrong, the total number of players on both sides amounted to over 20 players. The price of hiring two top tier professional expert teams to perform a show was more or less around that asking price of a few million.
However, Lava Teeth shook his head and said, “Spending so much money on this may be a bit pointless. We could have reported the current situation to headquarters to let them know who we are dealing with. They should be able to make sense of things and understand our plight.”
“That makes sense!” Fire Split Tooth added, “However, don’t you think it’s worth it to spend some money to make the strongest team in China to suffer a little, allowing us to earn some face at the same time?”
“This…”
After hearing Fire Split Tooth’s words, Lava Teeth began to hesitate.
According to the principle of accountancy, losing the seal was considered an outflow and losses were reported. Finding the seal back would be considered an inflow which could help increase its overall GDP…
The standard with which Lava Teeth had governed over Saga City was his achievement so far. Now that the upper echelons had suffered a loss, he naturally did not want to be penalised for it. If he were to snatch the City Lord Seal back, and take it over from an expert like Quan Zhen Sect, wouldn’t that be increasing his achievements?
It should be known that Quan Zhen Sect was China’s most outstanding team. Given the relationship between Japan and China, if they were to be able to step over the strongest team in China, their accomplishment would be a feat on the national level.
After pondering over the situation for a while, Lava Teeth gritted his teeth and steeled his form as he said, “Let’s go according to what you said, it’s just 500,000 Gold after all. Go and gather the necessary money required and be quick about it, lest I regret my decision.”

Dungeon's Path
The only places I have posted the story and allow it to exist are on RoyalRoad, Scribblehub, and my Patreon. So the world ended. Whoopsie? We didn’t even see it coming. Quite literally as it came at us faster than the speed of light. Don’t worry though, it got better. Also, I am not joking about the world ending. Most people say that and mean humans are inconvenienced for some reason. Nope, all matter disintegrated at the atomic scale there for a few moments. Apparently the local universe wasn’t actually stable? Don’t ask me to go into too much detail. It would require both of us to have a few more college degrees than sense, and I at least lack them (both the degrees and the sense). Anyway, the energy/matter/wibbly wobbly strings were at a local minimum and not the universal minimum. Basically, what we took for sea level was actually a nice little mountain lake and when the dam busted so did, well, everything. Now here is where things go a bit off track with what normal meant before. You see magic is real, qi is real, gods are real. Not on old Earth mind you but souls pay little attention to time and space so we dreamed of it. In fact, the closer the shift in reality got to Earth, the closer our dreams got to the new reality. This is basically me tip toeing around the fact that it was a ‘System Apocalypse’. Reality became a video game, I became a dungeon, and this is my story. Doyle Huxley just wanted a normal life but as the above might clue you in on that just isn’t in the cards. He gets to experience a “Path Based System Apocalypse” and some early paths he takes, both literally and figuratively, lead to him becoming a dungeon. The aim is to release chapters once a week on Friday. Cursing will be avoided and no naughty adult action will take place in the story.
