《MMORPG: Martial Gamer》Chapter 1366. The Mantis Stalks the Cicada

Although Sanguine Warflag was the guild leader of a large guild, he fell short in terms of individual strength compared to the other players from Quan Zhen Sect and Assassin Monarch.
He was filled with fear and trepidation ever since getting on the wrong side of Assassin Monarch. He could only follow Fearless’s instructions and head over to the City Lord Mansion.
Fortunately, the City Lord Mansion was just across the street from the pub. Not before long, Sanguine Warflag appeared not far from the door of the City Lord Mansion.
Just when Sanguine Warflag thought that he was safe, the players from Assassin Monarch executed [Haste] and [Stealth] and were not far behind him.
Sanguine Warflag was completely unaware of his dangerous predicament and that his every movement was monitored by his pursuers.
Southern Heaven Mighty God was almost hysterical at this moment as he savoured the thought of finally getting revenge. He was driven into a miserable state by Sanguine Warflag and had lost more than just gold coins. Without wasting another moment, he lashed his dagger into Sanguine Warflag’s back.
Sanguine Warflag only felt a cold breeze swept past him before he realised something was amiss. Southern Heaven Mighty God appeared in the air out of a sudden as he clasped his dagger with both hands thrusting towards his enemy’s waist.
Sanguine Warflag was just a slow and cumbersome Knight. He barely had the reaction speed to respond to the oncoming attack.
At the critical instant that Sanguine Warflag felt his death was guaranteed, another black-clad Assassin joined the fold and appeared in the gap between them.
As the Assassin appeared, he lifted his right hand and easily parried the attack that was bound for Sanguine Warflag.
“Dang!”
A clear clanking sound reverberated as Southern Heaven Mighty God’s attack was blocked.

As Sanguine Warflag regathered his senses, he looked back and thanked the black-clad Assassin profusely, “Brother Fisher, you came!”
This black-clad Assassin was Darknorth Fisher which was sent by Fearless.
“Eh?”
Southern Heaven Mighty God did not spare any expense. When he saw that his enemy reinforcements had arrived, he flipped out a dagger in his left hand and hurled it dangerously in the direction of Darknorth Fisher.
In online games, there was no relation between a character’s appearance and their actual strength. Even if they were as thin as a log, as long as they added sufficient strength stat, they would still be able to exert extraordinary strength.
Therefore, having a large stature was not considered an advantage.
After all, the bigger one’s body, the bigger a target for enemies.
As long as a player was not a Tank who needed to be as big as possible, no one would customise their appearance to be too big.
Southern Heaven Mighty God’s build was his main advantage.
He was only at 1.3 meters and his dagger surged towards Darknorth Fisher in a treacherous trajectory.
It was an awkward attack for any player to parry.
Darknorth Fisher could also be considered smaller sized. As the dagger was aimed towards his waist, he might still be hit if he leaped into the air, but he also might be hit if he ducked… He was truly in a sticky spot. He dodged backwards but immediately gathered strength in his legs to drive himself towards Southern Heaven Mighty God’s back.
Sanguine Warflag gathered his senses and was about to prepare himself to turn around to aid Darknorth Fisher when he saw Scarless and a few others in the distance.
As he reassessed the situation, Sanguine Warflag shrieked internally.
Sanguine Warflag was no match for a single Southern Heaven Mighty God. Once the full lineup of Assassin Monarch here, Darknorth Fisher was going to be overwhelmed. After all, he was not Wang Yu who could deal with multiple experts at the same time.

At this instance, Sanguine Warflag heard Darknorth Fisher at the side, “Don’t turn back, head over to the City Lord Mansion now! Leave me alone!”
Under this sort of situation, preserving one’s life was imperative. It was important to keep losses at a minimum… As soon as Sanguine Warflag heard his instructions, he rushed towards the City Lord Mansion without missing a beat.
The [Charge] skill for Knights was highly effective and naturally could not be stopped by Assassins. Scarless and her comrades split up as they scrambled towards the City Lord Mansion.
Some of them stared behind to corner Darknorth Fisher.
Southern Heaven Mighty God used his numbers advantage to send two menacing daggers towards Darknorth Fisher’s body.
Darknorth Fisher immediately retreated backwards, deftly repelling the oncoming attack.
Darknorth Fisher held the title as one of the best mercenaries. Even though he only managed to gain his fearsome reputation after joining Quan Zhen Sect, his strength did not pale in comparison with the older members such as Vainglory and Boson. It might even be superior to these teammates.
Darknorth Fisher had great improvement in his skill with the dagger. Even under the incessant attacks of Southern Heaven Mighty God, Darknorth Fisher managed to evade it all.
“Eh?”
Seeing that the skill that their opponent possessed, Southern Heaven Mighty God turned back to Scarless. Scarless herself shuddered and she gazed upon the Yinyang Fish Badge on his chest. She asked, “Are you Frost Blade?”
Darknorth Fisher was a newbie in Quan Zhen Sect so it was no wonder that Scarless might recognise him as Frost Blade who was previously the sole Assassin. However, her previous memory of him did not tally to the player before her now. When did he get so formidable? Was the weakest member from Quan Zhen Sect at this standard?
“No!”
Darknorth Fisher simply replied.
Although it was better for an Assassin to be lowkey, Darknorth Fisher did not feel comfortable being recognised as another player.
Scarless quipped, “How could a random player from Quan Zhen Sect be so strong?”
“F*ck!”
Darknorth Fisher felt resentment welling in his heart. When did he become simply a nameless pawn?
Before Darknorth Fisher could even clarify his identity, Scarless commanded, “This is just a random player from Quan Zhen Sect. Don’t waste too much time on him. End him immediately!”
The surrounding Assassin Monarch members received the order and descended onto Darknorth Fisher from all directions.
As Darknorth Fisher assessed the situation, he kicked aside Southern Heaven Mighty God who was attempting to restrain him. Southern Heaven Mighty God crashed hard onto the ground.
“???”
To the surprise of the players from Assassin Monarch, Darknorth Fisher disappeared from their sight. In the distance, Sanguine Warflag was already cornered by the other members before he could enter the City Lord Mansion.

A-Live AI
The year is 2247. For almost two hundred years Sentient AI research has been banned. Everyone knew this, and yet no one has ever given up on finding the perfect setup for it. Restricted AI are rare, but possible to get ahold of if you have the money and the clout to get through the law for it. Especially when it deals with the military. Alfred Homis is an engineer and has spent the last three years working for the United Terran Military's Research and Exploration Department. Specifically to help build a 'shackled' AI who's prime directive was to explore potentially habitable worlds. Worlds that are far cheaper to colonize and add to the United Terran Directorate's fold than terraforming. During the AI's maiden voyage things go horribly wrong, taking Alfred Homis along for the ride. Thrown into a parallel universe where the laws of physics are just a little messed up, Alfred finds himself trapped inside the very machine he'd helped to build. Add magic, hostile fantasy creatures, and two different pantheons of 'Gods' to the mix and things get even more complicated. Oh, and an invasion between universes to boot. But that's just all in a days work though for Alfred, the AI Lord. Authors Note: Hi guys! Long time no see. And yes, I know that's all on me. But I blame life for that. Anyway, this is my new work, and I hope you guys enjoy it! The chapters are a little shorter than I'd previously posted in my other stories, but I cannot say that I have the same amount of time or energy to write them like that anymore. Sorry about that. Still, some warnings: There is cursing in this story. I am not going to edit it out. There will be sexual content later. Blood, gore and cruel depictions are all planned. If that isn't your thing, I'd suggest you turn back now. There is also my dry, and often not-so-funny sense of humor. And oh, it's all in first person gain. Haha. I just tend to write better that way. If none of that bothers you, then enjoy the read! Feel free to comment, point out mistakes, or make suggestions! Reviews are nice too, but please lay off the criticism until the story gets good and going. Thank you. Note 1: Some edits to the synopsis.

Cursebreaker
I'm not writing this anymore unfortunately, and I probably won't ever continue it. I guess writing is more difficult than I thought Reto Mason woke up on a mountain, and it was all downhill from there. Until they hit floor, at which point I'm surprised they didn't die to be honest. That is, they didn't die yet. We'll see what happens This is a LitRPG which does have levels and stats, but is more focused on Accomplishments, although expect some more classic RPG stuff in the future. The main focus is on skills, and skill modification/evolution in that regard. Expect some weird 4th dimension stuff eventually, and the weird things that come from there.
