《The Rise Of A Porter 》Chapter 368: Enigmatic Island (1)

It had been a couple of days since the mysterious dungeon opened up over the middle of the Pacific Ocean. The dungeon might've appeared on the international waters, but the gargantuan size of this dungeon threw every country of the world, no matter how big or small they were, in chaos. It no longer mattered whether the country was in a direct threat from the dungeon or not, everyone was worried.
If the dungeon wasn't subdued in time, all hell would break loose on the world and in that case, no one would be safe. Also, it was imprudent to think that the monsters coming out of the dungeon would stop only after destroying and conquering the nations close to the dungeon's proximity. Once the monsters spawned, there was no way in hell they would be satisfied after killing as few billion people either.
Thankfully, the strongest of countries such as America, Russia, China, Japan, Australia, Mexico, Canada and many more were equally endangered by the immense threat that the dungeon posed. This forced these countries, which were powerful in terms of hunter's strength and numbers, to temporarily set their differences aside and work together for the sake of the planet.
It was essential for these countries to unify under one banner and fend off the monsters or else, the world as they knew would be doomed for good. If someone could stop the monsters from coming through the dungeon, it was them. If they were to fail, nothing in this world would be able to stop those monsters.
Representatives from 10 of these nations had gathered together on the neutral ground of Abu Dhabi to discuss and strategies on how to proceed on the matter. So far nine of these representatives had gathered there and were waiting for the Chinese representative, Yu Zhung, to show up before they could officially start the meeting.

"Just because he is a SS ranked warrior, doesn't mean he gets to disrespect us like this." Vladimir Orlov, the famous S ranking mage from Russia, expressed his discomfort for being forced to wait unnecessarily for a 'brat' as he called him, "You got to hate that man's guts."
"Calm down, Orlov." Seomun Jee, the S ranked South Korean assassin princess, spoke first, "It's not like you're the most punctual guy yourself."
"I agree with, lady Jee." Eto Hiroshi, the Japanese S ranked swordsman was quick to join the parade. Well, it wasn't a secret that he had a crush on Seomun ever since she managed to defeat him in a duel, and his behaviour didn't give anyone a chance to think otherwise.
"Of course you do. It would be a surprise to none of us even if she said there is no sky and you immediately agree with her." Carlos Villalta, the Mexican representative mocked Eto in a friendly manner.
While a couple of them laughed to their heat's content, the others could only afford to smile wanly. If this had been the case before the dungeon appeared, they wouldn't need to hold back from laughing their heads off, but the situation was grim right now. None of them wanted to admit it, but deep down they knew this could very well be the last time they had gathered in a room. As even in the miraculous event, they did manage to get rid of the dungeon, not all of them would be able to make it back alive.
"I can't remember the last time we met like this." Someone whispered in Morrino's ears.
Morrino turned around to see Lady Eva Dullo. She was representing Australia in this meeting and was currently sitting next to him. She was a decade younger than Morrino, still, they had a beautiful bond of friendship between them. At one point there had been something more than friendship amongst them, but they soon realised it wasn't meant to be. Surprisingly yet, none of them got married to anyone else even after 12 years.

"Not since the first dungeons started popping up like wild mushrooms," Morrino replied with his usual smile.
"I heard Deathless has left America for good?" Eva asked Morrino.
However, he had already anticipated being asked about Arnold so he had prepared a response beforehand.
"I see you're still a gossip queen," Morrino replied, while still keeping the smile on his face, "and as for your question, I don't know if he has. But even if he did, I don't think he's the kind of man to not help his friends and family in time of such need. I think this will also be sufficient to answer your next question as well?"
"You always had a knack for reading between the lines." Eva smiled before changing the topic, "You know if we fail to do something about the dungeon, this would be the last time we'll be seeing each other, right?"
"I know. But I also have faith in the man who is about to walk through the doors right about now." Morrino smiled as the door was thrown open and in came two people wearing black clothes from head to toe.
The moment they walked in, everyone's attention was on them. Both the man and the woman were the only ones who looked truly relaxed in the room. And there was a reason for that, after all, both of them were SS ranked warriors who were undefeatable in their own way.
Just like everyone else, Morrino had also been eagerly waiting for the representative of China to show up. Especially because of the recent adventures there had been in China. Everyone knew that Arnold had been crowned as the overlord of seven out of the eleven Chinese emperors and had about 65% of China under his authority mere 24 hours ago. Thus, even though it was stated that Yu Zhung would be representing China. Morrino knew he could expect a familiar face to show up.
"I apologise for the delay," Arnold smiled as he lifted his mask, "I got stuck up clearing a dungeon on my way here. Thankfully, my sister was there to help me out. Enough chit-chat for now. Let's get started with the meeting."

THE ENCOUNTER
One day in 2022, a mysterious Alien Entity arrives in Melbourne, Australia. What is their purpose of coming here? How will our world react to their arrival? The story follows the footsteps of Jack Geralt – a Royal Australian Regiment veteran who, along with his friends, is recalled into active duty in response to this event. P.S #1: Because this is my first time I write and post my novel here, I will wait for your reviews before posting more chapters. Whether you like it or not, I still hope you enjoy reading my novel. P.S #2: I am sure you noticed that the Cover Art is not mine. I simply chose from my collection of favorite Concept Arts. If whoever designed this art sees this, I thank you very much. Since I am doing everything myself and have to alternate between my work and writing, this is the best I could do. P.S#3: If there are any inconsistencies with what you know (for example, location’s names, recent world events and properties), please remember: This Story takes place in a fictional and alternate reality.

Dip$h!+s in Space
An eccentric comedy novel (that thinks it's a TV show) about space, and the Dipsh!+s that end up stranded in it. This hyper-self-aware comedy of stupid proportions, centers around Captain William T Lawg (no relation) and his adventures as a guy who managed to afford a refitted soft-top ice-cream truck, in space. Explore the universe with his trusty crew of valiant randos. Marley, the tech-bro, stoner spacebunny, who just wants to get away from his home world and the bullies it harbors. Duffy, the plump and sassy female mechanic, who has had every job in existence totaling far more years than possible. Roy, the frigging fabulous, flamboyant android, and former spy…or possibly current spy. (dun dun, daaaa!) And lastly, but certainly leastly, that other chick the captain keeps trying to bang. Ride with the crew of the notorious Tast-E-Chill, to a world of wonder that a lot of other space travelers have already been before, but probably not Lawg, so it's still exciting. This satirical joke on itself and every sci-fi trope ever to exist, will be sure to either thrill you or disappoint you, because COMEDY…IS…SUBJECTIVE! With a crew of 3-10 and an IQ of also probably 3-10, The captain putters along to uncharted lands, where history, loot, drama, innuendos of the sexual verity, and various Technicolor hoes shall surely be waiting, usually with some form of trap. Each season brings new and interesting crewmen, like: Menace: the adorable genderless frog-child-thing with the heart of gold and the dialogue vocabulary of a slightly trained parrot. Greg: the 8 foot tall, ancient, thermonuclear, semi-retired alien overlord who just wants to prove he still has a purpose…and also to rule the galaxy. Izzy: a 3rd generation, age-reversed reboot, accidental clone of her own mother/sister/older self, who happens to be Greg's daughter-in-law…and much, much more. Prepare yourself for shallow adventure, moderately-to high offensive dialogue, and overwhelmingly childish scenarios. Tag along as the crew battles, fierce enemies, lack of food and survival tape, and occasionally their own incompetence. Teen Romance, current politics, subtlety, dignity, this sucker has none of those, and it darn well knows it. Raise the sails and grab the rails as a bunch of dipsh!+s find themselves...IN SPACE. (Roll dramatic tapering credits, to royalty free trumpet music)

Luster
Growing up with her recently deceased mother’s addiction and her own struggles with gender identity, June Fujiwara was not a nice person. Gaining powers from nearly being murdered didn’t change that, and neither did becoming a mercenary to fund her transition. It took horrific manipulation, the resulting trauma, and the family that helped her through it all. Luster is a derivative work based on Worm by Wildbow (John C. McCrae) that begins prior to Worm and although it doesn't show straight away, the story is very AU.
