Mina wasn't able to kill the first Elder rat that she took down. The Elder rat, though heavily wounded and bloodied all over, yet wasn't given up.
It lifted its hand that holding a stick. What followed next was words of an incomprehensible language that coming out of its mumbling mouth. The Elder rat cast a spell.
After casting an unknown spell, radiant of green color slowly envelop its body, and its wounds gradually healed.
Though the Elder rat healed its wounds, it's hardly able to stand. It might be because too much of its blood had lost. But in Yeman's vision, the number of 10/1,000 inside the red bar was visible above this monster's head.
An idea suddenly occurred inside his head. He smiled evilly while deliberately approaching the weakened Elder rat.
Mina and the second Elder rat were currently battling at 10 meters away from the weakened Elder rat.
At the corner of her vision, she saw the guy slowly approaching the first Elder rat that she took down. She was wondering what this guy planning to do, but Mina twitches her brows when she noticed that the monster that she thought was dead, still gasping for breath?
"How could it be?" her eyes widened while asking herself.
Tsk! She clicked her tongue in annoyance.
That guy has already done in killing the other monsters, while she was still busy with the second Elder rat. Just the thought of her being inferior to him made her puke. And now the first monster she took down, had managed to stay alive?! However, it's already weak. Regardless, something was unusual with the guy that's with her. She had the feeling that this guy had intended to last hitting the weakened monster.
She's wondering if this guy was the type of guy that she hated the most, the one that greedy in gaining the score and be boastful later. Just the thought of it irks her for some reason.

She has no spare time to dawdle around. Because another wave of Earth Balls came hurling towards her. Mina furrowed her brows. She must finish this fight as quickly as possible. To do that, she needed to use one of her special skills.
In the Academy, Mina was one of the talents that only appeared once in a century. She has a high aptitude in magic, unlike the guy that they called Worm. At first, she felt pity for this guy. But when she heard that the Worm tried to woo her friend, her reaction was, "what a courageous person."
Though she pitied him, she also felt curious about this courageous guy. When she heard about the recruitment for the subjugation mission, she hastily applied. And after they were assigned to their respected squads, she found out that she was in the same group with the guy they called Worm.
She's wondering if the guy could fight since he doesn't have an aptitude with magic.
In this world, being born without magic was equivalent to being born as a worm.

It's technically a Xianxia (because cultivators!), but it also veers towards Xuanhuan and has more traditional High Fantasy elements and a bit of Gods and Monsters and All Myths Are (on some levels) Valid. It also has a fairly large, ensemble cast, so if multiple point's of view are not your thing I am sorry. It won't ever really be considered 'grimdark' by any real measure of that definition but it does go to some complicated and fairly places dark occasionally, which I will note in author pre-chapter notes when expedient!. About the Author I mainly write fiction for my own hobby, it makes a nice change from academic scribbling! I started writing this quite a number of years ago. It has grown somewhat organically out of a bunch of different interests in all kinds of Mythology, World Building, Drawing Maps, Archaeology, Anthropology, History and Epic Fantasy fiction into what it is today. In this era, anime has spread to the entire world; people are indulging themselves in anime so much that they’re calling themselves as ‘Otaku’. They’re going to conference and events that’s related to anime. Some people quit their social life and choose to indulge themselves in figurines, manga, light novel and animes. Some of them are teens that are been bullied or has the same circumstance, some of them just choose to be a ‘Hikikomori’ (People who withdraw their social life) just because they wanted to. But one day, one after another, people who called themselves ‘Otaku’ starts to disappeared. Their relatives are confused since they never see the person leave the house so it’s still a mystery on why they suddenly went missing. That strange phenomena continued until it finally takes it final victim, Carlo Delacruz suddenly disappeared. When the people around him got interviewed by the reporters, they said something like “That guy is a thirty years old virgin who has no family left beside him” or “I always so that guy loitering around the park meeting with his nerd friends, maybe they’re the one that took him” But none of them surely knows what happened to Carlo and the other person that went missing, but there’s a fact that only a little of people knows, and in fact all of them are the ones whom went missing. All of them, all of the ‘Otakus’ that went missing knows this. The fact that all of them are transported into a another world. But not just any other world, they have been teleported to an Anime World.
