《Loki’s Successor System 》Chapter 43: Stumbled across Bagul

Jin, without the mask this time, had started walking through the grim streets, striding across the concrete pavements with a deliberate gait.
He was going to look for trouble. Trouble so that he could complete the system task: in that it was the only way he thought he would be able to.
What he promptly realized, however, was that fighting in broad daylight would be a huge, blunderous thing to do. It was like asking for things to transition to the cusps of lethality.
There was no telling who could show up and make things go south. And those daunting cops; magic coursing through their beings, would be swimming into view all over the city at this time of dawn.
The wisest thing to do was to wait things out.
Wait until the prowling cops were less prevalent throughout the city. Wait until there was less light to bounce off of the eyes. In the grand scheme of things, the ideal time for unlawful acts was dusk.
And Jin was not taking any chances ... by any means. What had been unveiled on the day he was attacked by Officer Clarke still sent chills running down his spine.
He would get his revenge some day. Still, he had no idea why the cop attacked him, since he had not seen his face. Why would the cop attack Sylvia as well?
Although they were doing crime, they were blending in with the other civilians quite well from what he could tell. Why would the cop them?
Jin had no idea, so he stopped thinking about it. He continued to amble through the streets, minding his own business.
When all of a sudden, someone bumped into him.
His body was thrust backwards. He quickly used his feet as aid to catch his balance. When he was standing as steadied again, he peered at the person who he had bumped into.

It was someone he knew from his school. The figure was an Orc with light green skin, a pair of rounded glasses resting atop its wide nose bridge, and marigold hair. Its hair was braided, and there was a bit of beard starting to manifest on its chin.
Its canines were nowhere to be seen, and its finger-nails were cut low. It wore blue shorts, and a sleeveless shirt. It appeared to be panic-stricken; standing nervously as if it was anticipating an attack.
Having seen it, Jin smiled. "Funny meeting you here, Bagul."
Bagul adjusted his glasses, peering at Jin in a dazed way. "Jin? Is that you?" its trembling voice was incredibly deep.
Jin smiled. "Yeah, it's me, Jin."
Bagul was essentially different from many Orcs, especially the ones in his circle. He was never like them at all. Orcs had an inborn tendency to appear aggressively malevolent even when they tried as best they could not to.
Orcs and Hobgoblins were the races many feared, and saw them as beings who had no pleasant future ahead of them. Many of them just ended up thrown in jail, lingering behind bars. Others died before they could even make it to solitary.
Bagul was different.
Bagul was not the kind of person to enjoy doing harm to others, and he was not the kind of person to end up behind thick, metal bars either. What was so special about him was that he was beyond kind-hearted. Too kind-hearted to be considered an Orc.
He had his lower and upper canines removed simply because they were too daunting to the other races. In truth, all Orcs were supposed to have their canines forcibly removed by the time of adulthood.
It was this harsh way because they saw Orc and Hobgoblin teeth as nothing but lethal weapons … and they were. Countless lives were lost to the powerful draws of these races. A simple but successful gnash to the neck and that was it for the victim.

Orcs pose a great threat to the lives of others; such that they were greatly abhorred and discriminated against. Bagul had to learn the truth the harsh way.
He was even bullied by other Orcs who despised him; they would constantly deem him a 'sell out to the Orc kind'. Even his very own parents loathed him grossly in that he was an embarrassment to the Orc kind.
He thought other races would accept him given that he was different. But they didn't. All they did was bully him. They hated his chic accent, which was a mix of many. They hated his anxiety when they weren't the ones suffering from it. Other Orcs were envious of his grades that were akin to that of a hobbit's. They hated him.
Orcs were not bad, they just weren't good. Not to say there were no kind Orcs like Bagul; there were just so few of them. These nice Orcs were hated by everyone. They never fit in regardless of all their efforts. They were nailed to the cross of their horrible reputation and there was no escape.
Bagul looked at Jin from head to toe. This definitely wasn't Jin.The Jin he knew was a crippled, depressed teenager … who was, of course, still a virgin. He shook his head in incredulity. "No way. You are most definitely someone else." his chic accent was sweet to the ears.
His accent was a mesh of many. One could hear the Orcish accent upon effortlessly listening. His tongue rolled upon uttering certain words, and his tone was passionate and soothing. His accent was a mix of British, Orcish, German, Swedish, and even Irish. Impossible!
Jin scratched his head. "Yeah, I'm no longer crippled."
Bagul snapped, "But that's im—"
"Impossible?" Jin interjected, "I know, I thought so too."
"You're so tall … I have grown so accustomed to looking far down at you. But now you are almost my height. From where I stand, I think it is indeed impossible for a crippled person to walk again. How did you regain your ability to walk? Can you enlighten me?"
Jin quickly averted his eyes. "I taught myself again … I guess?"
"Is that so?"
"Yeah."
"I see…"
"Also, Bagul, are you okay? You're not getting bullied again, are you?"
Bagul tossed his pupils elsewhere. "No…" his rushed tone — far from inclining.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, I am sure. Can I come visit you sometime?"
"Sure, no problem, pal."
"Okay, I am grateful. I have somewhere to rush off to. I should leave if I may…"
"Yes-yes, go ahead. You didn't have to ask for permission … what am I? Some great Monarch?"
Bagul grinned. "See you later then?"
"Yeah, you can crash at my place whenever you feel like it."
"Bye-bye then…"
"Bye…"
***
Jin slumped on a bench on the pavement, wind brushing against his skin delivering serenity. The noises of cars, speaking—all the urban city noises made him feel serene … somehow.
Then, he slowly raised his eyelids, his pupils slowly being revealed. As light hit them, they contracted. Then he glared at his system screen.
[HP: 11 / 15]
[Deal 20 damage, you lose 1 HP for every hour passed without task completed]
A mischievous smirk manifested on his elegant countenance. "I'll wait for dusk …"

Apoch's Twilight
"Reincarnated Into My Half-Finished Isekai VRMMO Tabletop RPG" Once upon a time, there was a boy named Bull. Bull fancied himself something of a writer and game designer, and had half-created a homebrew roleplaying game for himself and some friends called Apoch’s Twilight. It was a perpetual work-in-progress, as Bull only wrote enough to fill in whatever gaps he needed to run the game for his friends. Then one day, Bull was hit by a truck. Bull should have looked both ways before crossing the street. Bull wakes up at a character creation screen, with an AI prompting him to create a character. The name of the game he’s creating a character for? Apoch’s Twilight. Say what? I plan to update weekly, give or take, while staying a couple chapters ahead for my Patrons. Thanks for reading! -- Bull

Grey Worlds
A mysterious incident occurred on a otherwise normal science centered world where all of the children from the age range of eight to sixteen suddenly vanished. “Where have their kids gone and will they ever return?” The now childless parents never got to really ask that question, because a strange new element replaced their lost children. This element slowly mutated the various animals that they once ruled over with their technology to the point that they were immune to their modern weaponry. The barren land of savages on a continent far away from theirs also had their children taken, but they easily mutated just like the beasts and only grew stronger thanks to the incident. A revolution of animals eventually took place after the mutations started to cause the animals to understand just how badly the humans ruined their lives and planet. Humans were the slowest to figure out how to use this strange new element to evolve, while their opponents were evolving and growing stronger by the day they couldn’t even surpass their modern technology. When humanity was on the brink of extinction a long forgotten event finally ended and their children finally started to return from the various worlds they were summoned to! It turns out that the mysterious new element that they didn’t know what to call was mana and that it’s everywhere in some fantasy planets. The children brought back a increase in technology and techniques to grow stronger with, which caused the humans to finally be able to build safe havens for their race. They grew stronger and started to finally adapt to their brand new environment. This is the story of a orphan who was taken away from his world, before he could gain a sense of attachment to the world. Who only has his older sister to care about and how he ends up adapting to the new world in front of him.------------------Dog notes by doggo First 'five' chapters aren't what the story is really about and is more of a prologue. The reason why some are separated into parts is because Doggo originally posted them as a entire chapter. The main setting is Ghost's actual world and not any foreign world. So this story was already posted once to another site or this site three years ago… and Dog is finally ending that three year hiatus! The explanation on why Dog was on a three year hiatus would of been written in the review section, but rrl doesn't allow self reviews. I'd have to create a alt just to self review which they obviously don't want even tho I'd not give myself any stars so its going to be here instead. The update schedule is a chapter a week till Dog get a editor and then two chapters a week till Dog gets enough money to pay for Dog’s bills. The final goal is to release a chapter every other day. Dog writes 4k word chapters so they are about twice as long as some of the other authors so every other day is actually more like once a day. ------------------- The part that was supposed to be the 'review' which Dog wont bother editing out repeat infomation since it wasn't supposed to go here in the first place. The first thing Dog will go over is what changed for the first 5 chapters, so that anyone who still remembers Dog's little novel and wants to continue from where Dog originally left off can decide whether or not to reread it. Also Dog is moving over to qidan simply because dog like the app they have. Dog won't go premium even if Qidan tells dog to and will simply move back to royalroad or create a blog. The things that changed over the years are mainly two important things. The first is that Dog changed the first person point of view to a third person, because Dog read a really bad first person novel and it reminded dog of dogs own novel. Dog also changed the thoughts of the character to be - - instead of italics. Finally dog changed chapter 3 completely to make the mc not seem like a homicidal maniac and introduced a important character in chapter 3.What happened to do in the three years that dog was away? Was dog at college and now needs money to eat? Was dog off in space after successfully becoming a astronaut and has now returned home with a completed novel or two? The answer is actually quite plain dog graduated from highschool and was supposed to only spend a year at dogs owners house to choose what major dog wanted to go to college for.Dog didn't do that and is still stuck with dogs owners and is sick of being a neet. Dog wants to move and buy doggy food, but dog is antisocial and doesn't want to work a simple 9 to 5 job for the rest of dogs life. Dog is a reader before dog is a author and the reason why dog got into writing was because dog wanted to write a novel without all the things dog finds annoying. Dog spent the first year reading various novels and dropping various novels. Dog is all caught up and has to much free time on dogs paws. The first year that Dog took off was the very same year that qidan came out so dog was naturally overloaded with free chapters. But now that pemium exists dog naturally has to limit the amount dog can read. Dog is addicted to reading like my very own readers and can understand your frustrations for dog disappearing for 3 years.Dog decided that dog will go back to writing 2 years ago. Dog wanted a decent stockpile incase dog has any other emergency so dog didn't post for a year but then dog decided to change the point of view which took another year.Dog has a patreon page https://www.patreon.com/mclaindog but there isn't any tiers there or goals till dog gets a editor. My final goal is to release a chapter every other day, but as long as Dog gets a editor Dog will do two free chapters a week.Dog will probably also make a kofi for anyone who just wants to send dog a tip and can't afford to donate money monthly while maybe having bonus chapters if the tip jar gets filled.
