"Okay, that's enough evidence."
"T-Teren..."
The father suddenly stopped. He froze when he saw a stranger holding a phone as if filming him.
"Wha... what do you think you're doing in my property!" the father growled. That was the only thing he could think of to say.
"How about you? What do you think you're doing to your daughter?"
The father deeply frowned.
"What does it got to do with you? And are you filming me!? Not only are you an intruder but you also took unpermitted footage!"
"Hm.." Teren's eyes squinted, "I was just passing by and I heard some voice."
"Passing by...? We have a tall fence!"
Teren ignored him and looked at the pitiful state of Iesa, "Iesa... can you open the window for me?"
When she heard her name called. She fixed her clothes one more time and reached out for the windows.
"Hey!" the father was about to stop her but Teren put up his phone.
"One more move, one more year in jail, pervert."
Iesa opened the window and Teren casually walked in.
When he walked in, he took Iesa's arm and pulled her to his behind.
Iesa didn't resist and could only see Teren's back.
"You...! This is a matter between family! I was just trying to straighten her up!"
Teren flipped his phone and played the video.
Iesa shouts could be heard from it.
"Yeah, tell that to the police."
Seeing the glimpse of the video, the father paled and froze at it. When Teren placed his phone into his pocket, that was when the father got enraged.
"Give that to me right now, young man!"
In response to the father's shout, Teren whispered.
"Iesa, can you watch what I'm about to do?"

Iesa who was still trembling heard this. She was confused and leaned to the side to see what Teren wants to show him.
At that exact moment, the father charged and jumped at him.
"Hold on tight."
Those were the last words Iesa heard before she saw her father, who should be charging forward, got blasted away, crashing onto the door and even breaking it!
"..." Iesa's eyes widened. At the same time, Teren lowered his foot.
Without even looking at what happened to the father, he turned to Iesa.
"You permitted me with one hit, right?" he smiled at her.
"..."
Iesa's grip onto Teren tightened as she felt dizzy from her heartbeat getting faster.
"Did he touch you anywhere?"
She shook her head.
"He... did touch my back earlier before I got into my room."
"Oh... can you permit me with another hit again?" Teren's face twitched from annoyance.
"... you could, how much you want to." Iesa whispered.
"Really? Then..."
"Wait!" Iesa held him back when she saw a glimpse of her father.
"He's... he's already unconscious..."
"So what? We can still hit him?"
"We?" Iesa looked at Teren.
"Don't you want to?" Teren raised an eyebrow.
"... I... I'll hit him once since you hit him once too."
Teren didn't expect her to agree. This made him smile and said, "Go ahead."
Iesa walked forward and looked at the mark Teren's foot was on her father's body.
Even though the father was already unconscious, foams dripping from his face, Iesa raised her leg backward and kicked.
"Fucking disgusting!"
Thud*
"I hate you!"
Thud*
"Die! Die!"
Iesa then hit her unconscious father so many times that he woke up and fainted again.

She only stopped when she got tired.
"I thought you'll only hit him once?"
"Ah..." Iesa frowned. But when she looked at Teren, he was smiling at her.
"That was satisfying, ain't it?"
Iesa couldn't help but smile too.
"Super..."
The two stared at each other.
'She's so beautiful earlier.'
Fortunately for Teren, Iesa couldn't hear his thoughts.
Meanwhile, Iesa was mesmerized.
"Um... thank you for coming..."
"It's fine, actually, I was a bit late. Sorry for that. Wait here..."
Teren then went to Iesa's parents' room and came back.
"What... did you do there?" Iesa asked.
"Hehe... evidence."
Iesa didn't further ask, she just laughed along with Teren.
Before they finished laughing, they heard a knock on the door. That was when they realized that there are blue and red lights alternating outside.
"Hello! Please, open up!"
A man's voice came from the front door.
"Did you call the police?" Iesa asked.
"No, I was just about to. Maybe it's your neighbor. You've been pretty loud."
Hearing this, Iesa lightly punched Teren's side with her head turned down.
"I... was so scared."
Teren's smile faded. He patted her head and said.
"I know... Good thing, you texted me."
"Yeah..." Iesa smiled and blushed.
"Hello!? If nobody opens up this door, we will have to forcefully open it!"
The voice behind the front door shouted.
"Ah... we should meet them."
Iesa nodded and went to the front door.
"Wait, you're not going away? You're a criminal too, you know."
"I'm not a criminal in this case." Teren casually shrugged his shoulders, "Furthermore, I know how to handle the police. This time, I'm your witness" he confidently opened the door.
When the door opened, Teren immediately came out in panic.
"Finally! You've arrived, officers! T-the man there! He tried to assault his daughter."
The policemen then looked at Iesa who was shocked.
She nodded and followed.
"Yes" she pointed while wiping her tears as if she was crying.
But inwardly, she was trying to hold her laughter.
'This psychopath...'
After that, the policemen saw the father unconscious. The father was brought to the hospital while Teren and Iesa were brought to the examination.
Teren just repeated what he said to the father earlier.
"I was just passing by then I heard some screams..."
"No, officer, I didn't break inside the house. I asked the daughter to let me in..."
"I stepped on him because he was about to attack us. That's why there's a footprint..."
Afterward, he showed the video to them. It was enough to convince them.
Later on, one from the search team reported.
"We found some child pornography in the suspect's room."
Iesa heard this and looked at Teren.
Teren noticed this and scratched his head.
"Is that too much?"
Iesa slightly leaned onto him and answered.
"Deserves him right."
"Yep" Teren smiled.
"But you got to tell me where you got that ch-child... that evidence."
"Ah, it's not what you think. I just downloaded it yesterday in preparation."
"Hmm..."
"I'm not a pedophile...!"

Trailblazer
The story of a man who accidentally wrote another world into existence. Everyone breaks away from their mundane daily life in one way or another. Our protagonist, an unfortunate consequence of circumstance, being no different, often escaped the harsh reality of life by writing stories of an alternate world of swords and magic. Though he recognized the difference between reality and fantasy, he could've never imagined what would happen, when the line between the two blurred as lightning struck down from the skies, and his escapism fantasy became all too real... After he came to, he would soon learn that things in the other world aren't quite as he remembered them to be. The world he wrote of had become but a shadow of its former self. Albeit hesitant at first, he sets off on a quest to find out the secrets behind the Trails, yet even then, he can't help but wonder... Can he really bring his world back to its old glory? —————————— I have never written a story before in my life and now I'm doing so in a language I don't natively speak. Groundbreaking quality is probably not something to be expected, but I do my best to keep things readable. With the necessities out of the way, both constructive criticism and other suggestions are very much welcome, and I'll do my best to take them into account when writing future chapters.

The cover is commisioned and done by: Artist: FatCatInTheBox ***** Before you lot bashes me up with my English etc., consider this: 1. This is my first novel. First conceptualized and written some 23 years ago. Only until last year that I did some improvisations and improvements to what I had kept in the dusty corner of my room all these while. This story sees the light of the day because I challenged myself, that's all. 2. English is the 6th language that I speak. And in RRL, I'm using British English mostly to write my story. 3. Easier said than done. Rather than subjecting me to subjective comments/reviews about the language, point it out and suggest an alternative. One or two would do just fine. It goes a long way. The Pledge - This story shall continue till it ends properly.

After the End: Serenity
We all want to believe we are heroes of our own story - unless we want to be the villain, of course. At the end of everything, the Final Reaper decided he hadn’t been a hero. Driven by a desire to right the wrongs he was subjected to, he killed everyone who wronged him or his people - which turned out to be everyone that wasn’t killed by someone else first. He'd won - but it was a hollow victory. Eventually, Order’s Voice found a way out. If the only existing being would agree to give up most of his power, the Voice could reset the multiverse to an earlier time with a few minor changes. Of course, the Voice couldn't ask it that way. It could only ask if the Final Reaper was willing to start over from when Earth was first brought into Order. It was an easy decision, and yet it wasn’t. Was he willing to go through eons of pain again to not be alone? Yes. In a heartbeat. Not that his heart beat anymore. Now it would. Perhaps he could even be a hero, this time. When he landed in his old body - more or less - on Earth, the Final Reaper once again became Thomas. He was both and neither. He needed a new name for a new life. Serenity. ------------------------------------------ While this is technically a System Apocalypse story, it's a System Apocalypse that is designed to have a large percentage of the population survive and prosper. There are a lot of problems that come with the appearance of the Voice, and it's entirely possible to lose. Earth has some special opportunities, but also special challenges. The first time around, Earth won the first round and lost the second. Serenity has ten years from when the Voice arrives to prevent that from happening. It will be a group effort; Serenity can't win alone - which is difficult for someone who's been alone for as long as he has. Of course, that's only his second priority. ------------------------------------------- Updates Daily A note on the nonhuman lead tag: He isn't human, and hasn't been human for a very, very long time (or maybe not long at all, depending on how you count it). He still thinks of himself as human, either way. The content warnings are mostly to give me room to write; this fiction is not intended to be edgy, but once in a while a character will swear or someone will get seriously injured. The cover image is a Chandra/Hubble composite image of VV 340 / Arp 302 / UGC 9618. While we're not going to space itself any time soon in the story, people from elsewhere are coming to Earth and Serenity will visit other planets. Plus, I like space imagery.
