《Rise of the White Dragon 》Chapter 271: The Truth

In front of the big door, Luan and the three girls were waiting.
"See you later, Mom." Embracing Nora, Lenore said goodbye by kissing her cheek.
Luan lightly kissed Nora's cheek. "I'll get in touch as soon as we get back."
Nora looked into Luan's eyes slightly with a strand of her scarlet hair swinging as she spoke very softly, "I'll be waiting." That voice had a clarity that couldn't be hidden.
Ingrid's expression didn't change, except for a smirk when she said, "No need to wait~"
Seeing Nora's unpleasant expression made Ingrid happy. She then walked through the door, leaving Nora behind. Luan and Lenore followed shortly after.
It was Lenore's first time on this side. She was like a child looking all over the place with curiosity. This was especially evident when she got in front of the panel to exchange points; it was the first time she would use this. She had accumulated many points over the years. Very quickly she exchanged points for items she was interested in. She was increasingly surprised at how 'small' the cost was. Although not that small compared to shopping with people inside the tower, it was a very big difference. It was almost like she had been paying 99% tax before.
There were even things that cost more than 100% of the original item. This made Lenore's perspectives totally change. Now she understood better how powerful her mother was. Even without access to the tower, she was so powerful. Just imagining if her mother had had direct access, she would have been even more powerful.
After buying a good amount of stuff. Lenore took off her veil, as did Ingrid, and Luan took off her mask, and Lenore left satisfied with them both. The way out of the tower was not surprising.
"I'm getting nervous..." Lenore muttered as she reached the exit door.
Luan looked at her as he took her hand. "It's okay… daughter. My mom and sisters will love you, I bet." He smiled.

"Mm." Lenore nodded as she held his hand tightly.
After passing through the portal, it was night on earth, or rather, in Brazil. Looking at his watch, Luan saw that it was 9:41 pm. His extra sensory perception detected that his family had already returned. Even the giants had returned to their lands.
Still holding Lenore's hand, Luan turned, looking at her with his red eyes and said, "They're back too. Let me explain so they understand what happened. They still don't know I came here from the future."
"Yes, you told them you came from the past, correct?" Lenore still remembered him mentioning this before.
"Exactly. I didn't want them to ask how they would die... But I think I was too protective. I'll let them choose whether they want to know or not," Luan sighed.
"But…" Lenore was interrupted.
"No buts." Luan shot her a serious look. "I promised you and your mother that I would introduce you as my daughter. Don't worry, I have my responsibilities, and I've known for a long time that I couldn't put this moment off for long."
"I see…" Lenore nodded nervously. She felt her heart beat faster. A familiar and pleasant sensation that she had never felt before she began to feel. Maybe it was the first time she'd felt the plug had fallen. 'Oh, he really is my father...'
"So…this is the land? Mm... The Qi is quite high. I thought it would be more scarce," Lenore commented as she let go of Luan's hand. Then she looked around the island.
Ingrid laughed a little. "It's not like that everywhere on earth. It's just here."
"Oh, L... Dad did something?" Lenore turned to look in Ingrid's direction.
"Yes, he created a lot of spells and formations with a lot of monster cores. This resulted in the current amount of Qi," Ingrid explained.
"Ohh, it makes sense now." Lenore nodded in understanding. Soon she turned to Luan. "Is that house where you live?" By her standards, the mansion on the island was a big house at best, as the mansions in Clan Van Steffan were as huge as castles created on earth.

"Yes, let's get going." Luan, who knew about this, didn't think her judgment was wrong.
As they walked, Pooh and Zeus ran towards them, tails wagging wildly.
"Luan, Ingrid." Leaving the mansion, Maira called for them while looking at Lenore strangely. She felt a strange familiarity with this woman who stood beside Luan and Ingrid. Behind Maíra were Catharina and Cristina.
"Mm. We are back." Luan's eyes held complicated emotions that deepened. "Let's go in first. I have something to tell you."
"Okay…" Even though it was weird, Maira nodded as she made Catharina and Cristina go back inside the mansion with her.
They walked into the living room and sat down on the sofa. Lenore didn't sit down, but stood beside Luan.
"Mother, Cristina and Catharina…" Luan paused. They were the only ones on the island; the rest were doing other things off the island, which was good for him. "I lied to you all when I said I have memories from my past life a long time ago."
"Oh, that's it?" Maira laughed, "I know."
"You know?" Luan frowned.
"Yes, I know." Maira smiled softly, then she sighed, "You came from the future, yes?"
"How-"
"How do I know?" Maira interrupted, "I think you underestimated me too much." She smiled, "I found out a long time ago, you know. Your predictions were too correct to be simple predictions. Of course, at first I thought it might have been some kind of skill, but I soon realized it wasn't - that you acted suspiciously a lot. But do you know why I never wanted to talk about it before?"
"Why?" Luan looked very surprised at her.
"Because it doesn't matter." Maira smiled even more. "Luan, you're my son, and that's what matters. If you didn't say it before, it means it was hard to say. Knowing you, it was very likely because we died horribly and you were afraid that we'd ask how we died, yes?"
"I..."
"Yes, I understand." Maira became serious, "And I won't ask. I don't even want to know. It doesn't matter. Just tell me one thing: Has it ever been avoided?"
"Yes, I've already killed..." Luan paused, "You are no longer at risk of dying the same way."
"I understand." Maira smiled softly. "That's what matters. As long as we won't die, don't talk about it. I don't want to know."
"I don't want to know either~" Catharina shrugged. Despite being very surprised, even perplexed, she didn't want to know how she died.
Cristina, even though she was only 14, had a strong mentality. She didn't really care about that. No, the truth was that she felt lucky. If not, she didn't even know if she would have been dead in Luan's other life. Maybe she was made a sacrifice for her sister? Or maybe even worse? Whatever it was, she preferred not to know as well.
They continued talking for approximately 2 hours. Luan explained several things to them, like how he came from almost a thousand years from the future, but of course, it wasn't exactly correct to say he came from the future since only the earth had gone back in time. The rest of the universe continued to rotate normally...
"Okay, enough of that. I'm curious to know who this cutie is," Maira smiled at Lenore and asked.
"Mom," Luan said, "She's your granddaughter."
"Granddaughter?!?"

Embers in the Ash
Four ordinary young people from four corners of the Earth wake up on a hill in another world. Here, their very presence is a crime against the Gods. On the fringes of civilization, life is often brief and always violent, but in the Empire's Heartland, implacable hunters seek to rectify their blasphemous existence with Blade and Fire. To return home, they will need to adapt to a place where their life will be earned in steel. But what will they be ready to sacrifice for their goal? Will their flame flicker out like so many others before them? Or will they thrive as Embers in the Ash? Hello, and welcome to my first fiction on this site! Embers in the Ash is an epic fantasy adventure story that aims to span quite a few chapters (I hope!). To set expectations, this isn't going to be a LitRPG or power fantasy-style story. I'm aiming for a fairly grounded story set in a fairly high-fantasy world. I hope you enjoy it! For this first month of publication, my aim is to give you, the reader, something to really bite into. I will be releasing a chapter every day at 9:15 AM EST (13:15 GMT), as well as the occasional double chapter (which will always be announced by a post-chapter author blurb). Check in fifteen minutes after the first chapter's release! After this first month of publication, the aim is to go for either a weekly or bi-weekly release schedule, depending on the sort of time I can reliably dedicate to writing. Either way, settle in for the long haul, and welcome to the story!

The Grey Realm, an Erebus Story.
Written by: Staugroan and The Inklets. Edited by: Claudia Adams. In the beginning there was a god, who watched over and made one world his own. Soon after the god grew restless, but happened to stumble on a small world filled with life. This world was named Erebus by its peoples; humanity. The god was so fascinated with this new world that he started to copy it back home, creating oceans, forests, deserts, and so forth. Then the god created life and eventually his favored creations who would be immortals and be the better of mankind in every way-the elves. So often the god had traveled to Erebus that the two worlds became linked by magic and their inhabitants could cross at will. Relations between the races flourished, and a great empire was born in the Grey Realm, home of the elves. But the god once again grew restless, and set loose great beasts that stood at the top of any food chain, the apex. At first the elves met the challenge and fought them head on. But mankind was not so lucky, they died in droves to push back even a single apex. Something had to be done. Elves and man worked together to begin sealing off the worlds to protect mankind, to limit the ways in and out to better fight the apex off and keep their fellows safe. The ritual had adverse effects the likes of which neither the elves nor man could predict; the sealing of the worlds started slow, but the magic had never been done before, and in their ignorance it spread to completely cut the two worlds off from one another. It ejected the apex, and other magical being back into the Grey Realm, saving Erebus. At first the elves were content, they would find a way back once the apex were dead and gone. But the seal had done more than keep Erebus locked away. The powersource of the seal was magic itself, from both worlds, and it consumed it all greedily. The elves, weakened without their magic, crumbled into ruin, and the apex were free to hunt the other races of the Grey Realm. Two-thousand years later a strange phenomena is occurring and magic is slowly returning to the Grey Realm, and tears open that allow passage to Erebus. Thu'lain and a few elves must make the journey to fallen kingdom of the elves Anosora, in the hopes of reclaiming what was once theirs. They must face their nemesis the apex, and survive not only the species that have turned against them, but a terrible being left behind by the god to kill even the apex. Uch'l'thein, the faceless terror.
