《Stacking My Abilities 》Chapter 67: Decoys (1)

The weather was nice and foggy as usual. A great day for activities such as frisbee, football, and perhaps a sacrificial ritual?
It should be cloudless up there. Good brightness. Good visibility. The two void leaders felt as good as the weather itself.
In sight, there's a bright and comfortable future. After today, nothing will be in their way anymore.
About 30 miles away from the sanctuary, the two stood by the entrance of a subway station.
Both S-ranks had a purplish-black tattoo covering their head.
The bigger fella only had a single shoulder plate strapped on, revealing his muscular upper body. Standing tall and proud, holding a glaive in one hand, this guy looked like a strong warrior.
(Glaive: single-bladed pole-arm)
The smaller fella was only as tall as the void warrior's belly button. Wearing a black cloak, swirling a dagger at his fingertips, this guy looked like an assassin.
Down the street, the sound of gunshots started to intensify. From time to time, there were flashes of lights, followed by explosion sounds.
"Looks like the big guys of this city finally noticed small fellas like us huh." The void assassin satirically chuckled.
The void warrior: ...
"Tsk tsk. 5 S-ranks, 25 A-ranks, trying to break our lines. That's a lot of big shots here. Perhaps we should even feel honored." The void assassin smirked.
"Before, we should be." The void warrior grumbled.
"But now, we hold the same power." The void warrior let out a menacing smile.
"No. We are even stronger. After today-"
The two looked up.
Six pieces of papers were swirling down. There could be more up in the fog.
Those papers quickly brightened up with a golden glow. In a blink, eight warriors formed out of the golden lights.
Thump! Thump! Thump!

The golden warriors dropped onto the ground, forming a circle around the 2 void leaders. All of them were about 2.5 meters tall. Golden armor. Golden skin. Empty hands. These guys looked like emotionless robots.
"Tsch. Jumping right to us?" The void warrior looked around. Casually lifting up his glaive, this guy put on a confident smile.
"No cheating allowed here." The void assassin caught his swirling dagger and lowered his body.
The golden warriors closed in onto their targets.
"Scram!" The void warrior made a heavy swing. This strike went for three golden warriors at once!
"Don't blink." The void assassin let out a crazed smile. In the next instance, he disappeared.
Clunk!
A golden warrior easily caught that glaive handle into its hand.
PUNCH!
The void warrior widened his eyes. An expanding golden fist reflected off his pupils.
PAM!
Like a puppet, the void warrior flew down the streets. Flying in air, spewing out a mouth full of purple blood, this warrior looked at the golden figures in disbelief.
Crashing onto the road, this guy lost consciousness. A void rift split up, taking this warrior into the void.
At the same time, in the other direction...
A golden warrior firmly kicked into the air. Yet, in the next moment, an agilely moving black mist bumped right into this kick!
BAM!
That void assassin was kicked down the sidewalk. After skipping and rolling down a block, the void assassin finally came to a halt.
Struggling to get up, the void assassin looked down at his chest in disbelief. Coughing out some purple blood, this guy kneeled onto the ground. "How... I was... No... Why are we... Still... So weak..."
The void assassin sighed out in bitter unreconciliation. Closing his eyes, losing his balance, this guy fell backwards.

(Unreconciliation: unable to accept / settle with the situation )
A void rift appeared behind this assassin, taking this guy in.
Yet, before this void rift fully expanded out, it was covered in beam of creamy white light. Sitting inside that beam, this rift quickly closed up.
By the subway entrance, a canoe slowly lowered down from the air.
"For the void!" A horde of void servants charged out the station entrance. About 20 of them. Mostly B-ranks. Some A-ranks.
Like a swarm, they charged at two of the golden warriors. Leaving a blur in the air, these guys were knocked back down the stairway.
One after another, void rifts opened up. But in the next instance, a beam of white creamy light would shine onto the rifts.
In seconds, these little guys were cleared out. A quick moments later, those rifts closed up as well.
Making a knock sound, the canoe landed.
By the canoe, a golden warrior kneeled onto the ground. Extending a hand, this warrior waited.
Standing at the front of the canoe, Oracle looked around.
This girl wore a white dress. Her long hair flowed down her back. Being surrounded by golden warriors, slightly raising her chin, this girl emitted a confident and elegant aura like a queen.
Grabbing onto the golden warrior's hand, Oracle stepped out the canoe.
A dude in a low-key yet luxurious suit followed. There was a glass orb floating above this guy's head. In his hands, there was a plate-like item. Above the plate, there was a 3D hologram arrow.
This guy was only an A-rank. Yet, facing Oracle, this guy still remained relaxed and confident. By the looks of it, this guy saw Oracle as his peer.
Oracle took a look at the arrow. Following its direction, walking up to the subway entrance, this girl threw another paper talisman down the stairway.
Dropping in air, that paper talisman bursted into flames. Falling down, the flames quickly grew in size. Like a creature popping out of an egg, a flaming snake popped out of the flames.
Slithering down the stairway, the finger-sized snake grew into a 2 meters tall python.
The wide stairway quickly heated up. Black smoke puffed out this entrance. In a moment, the flaming python had travelled down the stairway, leaving a charred ground and molten railings behind.
Oracle took a despising look at the Anas family member. The dude returned a haughty nod.
Without saying anything, the two walked down this hot stairway. In this dark environment, the orb above the dude's head started to emit a warm glow.
The distant gunshots and explosions mixed with the echoing footstep sounds here.
The two reached the train platforms. Looking around...
The dark underground platform was empty now. Flame lights could be seen down the left tunnel. That flaming python was chasing its prey.
Looking at the plate, the arrow was pointing right now.
The two jumped down to the train railway. Looking down the tunnel, yep, there was a black altar down there. However, there was nobody around.
Without further hesitation, Oracle threw a paper talisman at that altar. A flaming sword shot down into the tunnel.
Btttommm!
The ground shook a little. Dust and concrete bits fell down.
Oracle widened her eyes. This was not right!
BOOM!
The ground shook even more violently.
Pptttoom!
The train tunnels collapsed down.
The two turned to the stairway entrance.
In their sight, that entrance tumbled down.

A/N: The first three chapters are set in an ancient setting and then after that it's interstellar, so some patience is required. Does this novel have comedy? Yes. But that's not the main part. What went into the cauldron of whatever this novel is was angst, age progression, and Technoids. I like to kill off my characters, but I also don't. So come check this out if you want redemption arcs, an MC who travels through death, and cool fighting robots controlled by people. We have friendship, romance, and random drama, so buckle up and have fun.
