《Start With Contracting Sprites》Chapter 36: Full Marks

Is it feasible?
This was the question An Yushan was pondering.
He couldn't judge in a short period of time, so the best method was to do an experiment.
He thought about it in another way, shook his head, and laughed.
"Mr. Su Hao's plan gave us brand-new enlightenment. Although it has yet to be tried in practice, and we can't be sure if his plan is effective… The most important attribute for Sprite Cultivators is the courage to explore.
"Mr. Su Hao started from sprite materials of other elements and designed a complete plan. Regardless of whether it can eventually work, this kind of spirit is hard to come by and worth learning from.
"In my opinion, Mr. Su Hao has completely fulfilled the requirement to become a qualified Sprite Cultivator."
"So…" An Yushan paused. "My opinion is that we do a real-life experiment with Mr. Su Hao's plan, but regardless of whether the eventual result is successful, the candidate Su Hao will be given a pass."
I did it!
The examiners didn't lower their voices during their conversation.
Finally, Su Hao, who was never truly confident after a mere month of studying, felt relieved.
My hard work isn't wasted after all!
The other candidates' looks were a bit complicated.
There was admiration, envy, and jealousy…
After Su Hao secured one place, the chance of them being able to pass was even lower.
A deputy examiner called out a few sentences from the back. After a moment, a Superpower Gibbon came running, carrying a huge water jar and other materials.
Superpower Gibbon was the evolved form of Long-Armed Gibbon. Its height was two to three meters, with strong muscles. It was considered really strong among the gibbon kind, but the way it carried the water jar was very careful, and it placed it in front of the examiners' table gently.
Then, the Superpower Gibbon grabbed a piece of hollowed tree trunk, held it between its palms, and exerted force.
Bang!
A large piece of hollowed tree trunk turned into powder and fell down into the water bucket filled with Elemental Water Spiritual Liquid.
Superpower Gibbon grabbed White-Headed Tortoise, which kept retreating in panic and pressed its head right into the Elemental Water Spiritual Liquid.

The corners of Su Hao's eyes slightly twitched as he witnessed this.
This is really… Wasteful!
How much would this big bucket of Elemental Water Spiritual Liquid cost!?
After being forcefully fed spiritual liquid, the White-Headed Tortoise was then thrown into a large water jar filled with clear water.
A Water-Treading Snail drifted into the examination hall, moving on top of a water stream.
Su Hao's eyes widened.
Water-Treading Snail was the evolved form of Little Sea Snail. The whole sprite was a giant sea snail, even bigger than a backpack.
A small head secretively emerged out of the water surface underneath the shell's opening before retreating back again.
Instantly, the water inside the giant water jar started spinning rapidly. White-Headed Tortoise moved its four limbs clumsily but was still turned over and over again by the water swirls.
It was forced to keep the balance and travel against the direction of the water.
The head examiner, An Yushan, observed for a moment to make sure it was the same as the plan and nodded slightly.
The experiment was safe. Regardless of whether it worked, the materials and method of training wouldn't hurt the White-Headed Tortoise—this was also why he arranged for an immediate experiment without hesitation.
"It would take time to see whether the plan works. Now, let's finish the exam reviews first."
The last 29 candidates in the examination hall held their breaths.
Apart from Su Hao, all their marks were already ascertained.
A deputy examiner started announcing the marks.
"Ai Zishi, 97 marks."
"Wang Li, 91 marks."
"Wang De, 89 marks."
…
"Yang Donghai, 82 marks."
"Luo Chengkong, 82 marks."
"Zhang Jide, 82 marks."
…
Su Hao noticed that when the examiner announced the name "Yang Donghai", the middle-aged man trembled visibly.
Then, he was stunned, and sweat emerged on his forehead.
"Did I pass?"
There were a total of 9 people above 82 marks, 10 including himself.
The middle-aged man had said that the number of people who passed the examination in the last two years had been 11 and 12, respectively.
Yet there were four people with 82 marks.

The examiner said, "During this examination, our Yunhua Examination Point has a quota of 12 for certifying Sprite Cultivators. We, the examiners, have the power to reject you. We can accept less but not more.
"Now, for the candidates with 82 marks, you will be given a chance to fight for the final spot." He paused a little and said, "You have 5 minutes to write down any changes in the White-Headed Tortoise's state right now."
The four candidates, including Uncle Yang, were stunned for an instant, but then, they quickly got to work.
The other candidates, including Su Hao, dared not disturb them.
There was only the sound of water swirling inside the whole examination hall.
After 5 minutes, the four candidates handed in their answers.
In less than 2 minutes, the examiners finished reviewing the answers and gave out the last two places.
"Yang Donghai, Zhang Jide."
Uncle Yang's mouth opened wide, and his trembling hands covered it tightly, while tears of joy flowed down his face.
The candidates who had just seen a glimmer of hope collapsed on their chairs in disappointment.
Hard work may not reap results. This was reality.
The examiners had seen it too much, so there was no change in their expressions. They were just waiting silently, observing the White-Headed Tortoise's changes.
The other candidates also gradually pacified their emotions and became interested in knowing whether or not Su Hao's plan could really succeed.
"There's a clear increase in White-Headed Tortoise's spiritual force!"
"Examine it with the apparatus. It's more accurate."
"Its spiritual force increased by 2.6, the extra nutrients are digested. It's a perfect plan!"
The examiners were excited.
The candidates widened their eyes in astonishment.
It really worked?!
The candidate named Su Hao devised a plan that even the examiners couldn't be sure of and had to be tested by experiment?!
The head examiner made the final announcement. "Candidate Su Hao explored in a new direction and came up with a perfect plan, so for this examination, he gets… Full marks!"
He didn't hold back at all!
Suddenly, the examination hall became noisy, and the looks everyone gave Su Hao became different.
This young man has unlimited future potential!
The Association of Sprite Cultivators acted very fast.
A mere minutes after ascertaining candidates' choice to receive the Sprite Cultivator Certification, the Association sent over 12 certificates.
It was a hard card printed with Su Hao's facial photo and name, and marked in large letters with the words "Entry-Level Sprite Cultivator".
With this certificate, I'll be able to work at many organizations and companies. It wouldn't be hard to even get a more than 10,000 yuan salary.
Furthermore, it can also act as a cover for the interface. In the future, if anyone questions how I improved unique skills, I'll directly take out the certificate and shove it in their face… It also won't be too abrupt when I discover the new evolution of Silkworm Baby in the future.
I'll also become part of the profession, and get discounts for buying many items!
Perfect!
"Mr. Su Hao, are you interested in working at our Yunhua City Association?"
An Yushan, the head examiner, smiled as gently as the spring breeze, not showing the least bit of his majesty as the head examiner just now.
The face of the examiner, who was from An City's Association, changed slightly.
Su Hao was from their An City! How could they attempt to headhunt this talent before him!?
Su Hao froze momentarily, thought a little, and politely rejected President An's offer. "I'm sorry, Mr. An. I'm still a high-school student, so I have to prioritize my studies."
"Yes, yes. Studies are the most important." An Yushan wasn't angry at all. "Mr. Su Hao, when you graduate in the future, remember to consider our Yunhua Association. Our Honorary President is Master Chen Ping, and our resources are amongst the richest in the whole province."
Su Hao could only nod and nod.
However, his goal had always been to become a Sprite Trainer, a top-level Sprite Trainer.
In any case, any Sprite Trainer who didn't want to be a Sprite Cultivator wasn't a good enough student.

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)
