《Start With Contracting Sprites》Chapter 107: Liu Ren: I'm So Silly

Su Hao pulled his suitcase and walked out of the train station.
As they walked, they suddenly realized that something was wrong.
"It seems like something is missing?"
He looked around.
He brought along his suitcase and backpack.
There was a Reverie Butterfly above his head, and a Flaming Cloud Crow flying in front of him.
"Everything is here… Wait, where's the Water Spirit Foal?"
"Gurgle, gurgle ~ (Don't ask, I just don't know)"
Su Hao rubbed his temples.
Following the directions of the contract, they finally found the Water Spirit Foal lost somewhere after running around happily.
It was stuck deep in the crowd, its mood swinging from excitement to confusion, and then to the helplessness of not being able to find its Sprite Trainer…
Su Hao knocked its head. "Sprite traffickers love to abduct little horses like you the most. Be careful, you don't want to be sold to slave owners and become a coolie horse for the rest of your life."
"Neighh⊙▃⊙?"
"Neighhh ~ Neighhh!"
Water Spirit Foal bit onto his sleeve tightly, unwilling to let go.
On top of his head, Reverie Butterfly snorted.
Tsk, Sprite Trainer ~!
...
Spring, the season when all things revive.
The temperature started to warm up.
The people walking on the roads had already taken off their thick coats and sweaters.
Su Hao… continued to ride a shared bicycle that made cracking sounds as he rushed from home to school.
The Water Spirit Foal chased after them.
In the end, it was a sprite that was good at running. Even if he rode the bicycle until it was about to fall apart, the Water Spirit Foal still followed closely — it didn't dare to run around anymore.
Su Hao came early today.
The first period had yet to begin.
Seated in the seat next to the window in the second last row, he looked at the trees outside the window and spotted red flowers blooming on the trees. Waves of fragrance entered his nose. Su Hao felt like he had returned to his high school days.
Wait…
Wasn't he originally a high school student to begin with?
He recalled.
He fought against Sprite Hunters in the Valley of Sighs.
He defeated Sprite Trainers one after another at the Battle Club and became famous.

He travelled in and out of the New World.
He worked alongside elite Sprite Trainers in the primordial area.
"So I'm actually just a high school student!"
It was very rare for Su Hao to listen intently today.
Even if he just held the textbook and let his mind go blank, it was unknown what he was thinking about — this was commonly known as a daze.
However, it had been a long time since he felt relieved.
The first period was sprite history.
The teacher conducting the class wasn't a Sprite Trainer, but a very prominent figure in the Mediterranean, so he was also a very knowledgeable senior.
"As everyone knows, the Union of Sprite Trainers was jointly established by the five countries, Dragon Nation, White Bear Nation, Golden Eagle Federation and so on. Right now, the member states already cover the vast majority of countries in the world, but the founding five countries, including Dragon Nation, still hold the greatest say…"
"Moreover, our Dragon Nation is the second country which holds the most seats in the Union of Sprite Trainers, second only to the Golden Eagle Federation."
"How did the seats come about? It's a comprehensive calculation of the national power of each country. The first is the level of technology, and the second is the power of sprites."
The history teacher paused. Seeing how a rare look of curiosity and anticipation appeared on the students' faces, he said,
"What's the limit of a sprite? I don't know, but a monarch-level sprite has unimaginable power. Some small countries don't even have one Heavenly King-level Sprite Trainer. Even for a country like Dragon Nation, every additional Heavenly King-level Sprite Trainer can give us an extra seat and a bit more power in the alliance."
"I'm not a Sprite Trainer, but I have a dream. I hope that, among all of you, someone can become a Heavenly King-level Sprite Trainer in the future. This way, when I walk out of this school, I can also shout out loud that I have taught a Heavenly King before…"
"I heard that Old Yang says this every year…"
Liu Ren, who was sitting at the next table, said in a low voice, "I don't think our An City has ever produced a Heavenly King-level Sprite Trainer, right? Don't tell me that I, Liu, will be the first… cough, second."

He glanced at Su Hao. "Hey, Old Su, do you think I can become a Heavenly King? I feel that dreams still have to come true. The master level aim that I set in the past was really too low."
"Sure. Come on, All the best."
"You said so too. Looks like I do have the disposition of a Heavenly King."
Liu Ren touched his double chin and pondered. He turned his gaze to the ADHD Water Foal beside Su Hao.
Then, he glanced at his Blue Water Frog that acted as a sculpture on his table.
Suddenly, he had an idea.
"Old Su, look, our two new sprites are both water-element. Why don't we… Hehehe, why don't we fight?"
Liu Ren thought about it carefully.
He might be a future Heavenly King, but there was still a slight gap between him and Su Hao.
Butterfly God was invincible.
Flaming Cloud Crow was also very strong. It tortured Li Songting's Ascetic Dog until it couldn't stand it anymore.
Su Hao specially went to the primordial area to contract a Water Spirit Foal. In a few months, it was very likely that nobody would dare to offend it anymore.
But now…
His Water Spirit Foal had just been contracted.
Although his Blue Water Frog was also a newbie, it had at least been cultivated for a while.
That's right, right now was his… only chance to defeat Su Hao!
Battle intent burned in Liu Ren's eyes.
It would depend on whether Su Hao agreed to it or not.
Su Hao glanced at Liu Ren's Blue Water Frog.
He had just written a cultivation plan for it before he left, and with Liu Ren's money-making abilities, the Blue Water Frog made significant progress in just ten days.
But...
Water Spirit Foal wasn't a pure and cute new sprite.
It had a pretty good foundation. Su Hao only cultivated it with the jade powder set meal for a few days, but its spiritual force had already grown visibly.
It hadn't practiced its unique skill yet.
But it inherited the Horse King's Charging, Stomp, Water Bullet, and Water Dragon's Roar, four unique skills.
Apart from Water Dragon's Roar, which was too advanced to be used, Su Hao had tested the other three unique skills. They were pretty proficient.
"In the battle between Horse King and Reverie Butterfly, it was obvious that it held back. It didn't use a high-level unique skill like Water Dragon's Roar…"
On the surface, the Horse King looked unwilling, but in fact, it really wanted to entrust its cub to a reliable Sprite Trainer.
Well, it was him.
Su Hao agreed to Liu Ren's challenge.
The battle between the novice sprites didn't need to be so troublesome. Taking advantage of the break after class, the two of them went to the Water-Element Sprite Training Grounds near the classroom building and started fighting next to an artificial lake.
A silly Blue Water Frog.
A Water Spirit Foal digging its hoof into the ground.
They looked at each other 20 meters away.
Liu Ren's eyes stared at the Water Spirit Foal, coming up with battle tactics in his mind.
"The Blue Water Frog has already mastered a unique skill. In a battle between novice sprites, that is a killer move."
"As long as I seize the opportunity…"
"What the f*ck?!"
He saw the Water Spirit Foal rush over as light blue dots converged, acting as a protective shield for it. Its running speed became faster and faster.
It was a unique skill Charging.
Seeing the distance getting shorter and shorter, Liu Ren hurriedly ordered, "Use Water Arrow!"
The mouth of the Blue Water Frog puffed up, gradually turning the water into a water arrow. Before it shot out, Liu Ren heard…
"Water bullets."
A Water Ball shot out of the Water Spirit Foal's mouth and landed on the Blue Water Frog's face.
It wasn't very powerful, but it stunned the Blue Water Frog, as it swallowed the water arrow that it originally wasn't very familiar with.
Then…
Liu Ren watched how the Water Spirit Foal hit his sprite. The Blue Water Frog flew out and rolled a few rounds after it fell to the ground.
With a stomp of its legs, it stood aloof on the spot, acting invincible and powerful.
Liu Ren was stunned.
He turned his head stiffly and looked at the Water Spirit Foal that had actually mastered two unique skills.
Then, he glanced at Su Hao, who looked like he had expected it.
He slapped itself.
"I'm so silly, really."

Prerequisites for Greatness (RWBY)
Jaune always knew that being a hero meant going on adventures, sometimes very far from home. He just hadn't thought he would start so early, or so far. Sadly he wasn't high level enough to learn teleportation, nor did life have an easily accessible mount option. His own two legs and an occasional donkey would have to do. Medieval setting; gamer Jaune. You don't need to know anything about the RWBY universe to read this.

Not Another Isekai RPG Story Alternate
The story ends at Alternate Route Finale. Ch 2-2 and on can be treated as Extra Chapters. I still hadn't edited that one and it's low on priority. I may come back to it if I'm in the mood. Most of the portions of the story will NOT focus on the skills, stats, grinding or battles. More about the dialogues (or the internal monologues) and the MC interacting with the world (or glitching, if you name it.). ... With parts of his memory lost, Takeshi, a 25-year old lazy office worker was transported to a game world. Using his casual knowledge on video-game mechanics, join Takeshi's journey as he discover more about the world, his companions and himself. (only if you're interested though.) My personal review: from ch-2 on expect a lot of perversion going on. It can be pretty weird, like the MC want to be a girl and Y*ri other girls, Fut*nari folks, Traps, the mention of t*ntacle monsters and some lulzy display (like shoving a morning star up someone's b*tthole in retaliation). In here, the MC will discover new things as he kept on exploring and trying different stuff. This story will mostly be character-driven. Explanations about the world and its mechanics was kept to a minimum. The MC's on the shameless side with not much real-life common sense (maybe) and he's (probably) not righteous at all. The other characters can be pretty weird as well. It won't focus on romance. Well that's about it.
