《BJ Archmage》Chapter 12

3.
Want to play games easily?
The best way to do so is by playing well.
It sounds irresponsible, but there is nothing more certain than this. If you know how to play a game well, know the mechanics, it can be very easy.
The problem is that quite few people are good at gaming.
Of course, there is an easy way for them to play a game as well.
Item and skills.
At least in God Wars, these two things make it easy for players who aren’t good at playing games.
‘What a shitty game it is.’
However, not everyone could use such a method.
In order to have those two things I mentioned earlier, one needs a pocket full of money.
In the case of God Wars, it was not enough just being full, it had to be at a level where the pocket would burst because it was so full.
In the end, the ones without money in their pockets had to face the difficulty head on.
In reality, there was nothing wrong with that in itself.
If you are playing games for self-satisfaction, you can enjoy the process even if it is difficult.
But in Midas’ situation, it was different.
‘Because of this game, I did all kinds of things.’
However, self-satisfaction is unacceptable to Midas, who somehow had to produce better results than others and thereby earn his own value and earn money through it.
Because of that, he had to rack his brain to come up with better results in such difficult situations.
‘The oil potion also came out at that time.’
The oil potion was created by Midas at that time.
It was not a difficult concept.
If you just use it to light your body on fire, it won’t do much good.
‘I made it to catch goblins.’
In the case of monsters that do not even have hair, such as goblins, they could still be burned, but there were very few cases where the body would catch on fire.
Then how do you make the flames catch so they burn even one second longer?
It was not difficult to think of oil at this point.
And it was not difficult to get oil.
The problem is the existence of a tool that allows the oil to be stored and sprayed on the target at the same time.
Unfortunately, it was impossible to get or make a spray gun in God Wars.
Also, it would be too uncomfortable to pour oil in a huge container like it’s pouring water.
‘It was a great idea to come up with an empty potion bottle at that time.’
There, Midas came up with an empty potion bottle.
After the usage of the expensive potion, the discarded empty bottle would be easy to obtain and easy to use.
And the obtained empty bottle was filled with oil.
‘I still can’t believe it can go into the inventory.’
The story changed when it was identified as an item, which evidently became obvious when it could be stored in the inventory.
The moment it became known, the oil potion became an indispensable hot item for the flame wizards.
‘Even if I could only apply it as a patent … …. ‘
The truth that Midas himself came to realize but could not do much, it was a pity in some sense.
‘Well, it’s an old story.’
However, Midas didn’t come to regret his past now.
‘A story that is not worth worrying about unless you were hit by a truck and return.’

In the past, he knew well enough that his past didn’t have any meaning and could only brood about it.
So Midas looked ahead, not behind.
“Kii!”
In front of Midas’ eyes, a goblin appeared.
‘Oh, yellow!’
A goblin with a yellow light on his chest.
4.
Pagak!
A potion bottle filled with oil collided with the back of the goblin’s head and it spat out a stinging sound.
“Kiik!”
Immediately, the goblin screamed in surprise.
The surprised goblin turned his head towards the direction where the bottle came from.
It was at that moment.
Puong!
A Fireball the size of an adult man’s fist hit the goblin’s head.
“Kiiii!”
The goblin started to scream and started rubbing his face that was burnt by the fireball.
“Whoosh!”
At the same time, the back of the goblin’s head caught fire.
“Kikki!”
The goblin desperately tried to put out the fire on his head.
Pagak!
At this time, an oil bottle smashed into the goblin’s forehead.
The goblin’s face became oily.
Whoosh!
The fire on the back of the head naturally ignited the oil on the face of the goblin, and the head of the goblin became a ball of fire in no time.
The goblin began to struggle to extinguish the fire.
Then Midas appeared.
The goblin could not respond properly to Midas’ appearance.
First, he couldn’t even feel Midas’ presence.
“Kii!”
Also, two of Goblin’s most powerful weapons, his hands, were busy extinguishing the fire on his head.
Perfectly defenseless.
Pu-uk!
Midas’ club came in ruthlessly and violently towards the goblin’s body.
The goblin had no way of dealing with it.
‘There is no surer way than this.’
In other words, it was a strategy to capture the goblin perfectly.
There was only one choice that the goblin could make in front of such a strategy.
Just waiting to fall below a certain level of HP from damage.
“Kii!”
As soon as HP reached a certain level, the goblin began to run away without looking back.
Midas did not chase after the goblin as it escaped.
“Fireball.”
He chanted a magic spell on the spot.
Then a small magic circle appeared on his palm, and the magic circle turned into some kind of magical thread and soon turned into a fireball.
Midas held the fireball lightly and prepared to toss it towards the goblin.
However, he did not throw it right away.
Midas waited.
’10 meters.’
At a distance of 10 meters or more from the goblin, he threw a fireball.
Puong!
The fireball that left the hand was pinned to the back of Goblin’s head while it was escaping.
There could not be a more perfect finish than this.
[Achieved Pinpoint Title.]
[Achieved Pinpoint Title.]
[A Rune is paid as Reward.]
And it was the moment when Midas’ goal was fulfilled today.
‘Okay.’
Midas organized the situation straight away.
‘I collected all 30 Goblin Leathers.’
First, he confirmed the items.
“Loot.”
After completing the looting on the goblin body, he opened his inventory.
30 Goblin Leathers and 7 Goblin’s Resentments caught his eye.
The result would not look extraordinary to any strangers.
However, it was a result that could be said to be ridiculous if the player caught the goblin himself in God Wars.
Goblin’s Resentment was known to drop about 3% of the time, meaning only one would drop every 30 or so goblins hunted.
‘It’s a ridiculous rate considering the difficulty of hunting them.’
But Midas got 7 Goblin’s Resentment from 30 Goblins.

‘With this pace, there will be no problem with the cost of living and games this month.’
The revenue was not small.
‘When I go home, I should get ice cream for Hye-rin.’
It was an amount that he could buy some snacks for his cute niece and go home.
‘The rune reward is ……. ‘
Of course, the bigger one was the new title and the resulting rune rewards.
-Title Description: This title is given to those who know how to accurately hit the target’s head with throwing magic.
-Title Description: This title is given to those who know how to accurately hit the target’s head with throwing magic.
-Title Reward: +2 Intellect and Magic Power
For magical powers and intellect +2, it’s a satisfactory effect for a wizard.
No, it wasn’t just satisfactory.
-Level: 3
-Level: 3
-Faith: War Dragon
-Job: Archmage
-Ability: Strength (5 + 10) / endurance (5 + 10) / Intelligence (11 + 12) / Magic Power (7 + 12)
-Remaining stats: 4
Midas, who checked the stats of the status window, and the result was unbelievable.
‘Is this for real?’
In fact, the level of the stats itself is similar to that of a level 10 player that did not wear proper equipment.
The difference between such amounts in this section was enormous.
This was the power of the runes given as titles and rewards.
‘More than that, these title conditions ……. ‘
Naturally, Midas also kept in mind to sell this information.
Moreover, some of this information could be sold for a much more expensive price than the Tutorial Master title.
A thing that High-level players worth eyeing.
‘For now, it’s a keeper.’
Of course, he didn’t intend to sell it right away.
Selling information isn’t so easy, and Midas, who had to face fierce competition, knew that selling this information would only lead to the growth of his competitors.
He knew that better than anyone.
At the same time, he knew well that he didn’t have to sell it urgently.
‘Unless some crazy person suddenly releases this information for free, there is no reason to sell, when I could set the price at any time and sell it.’
Unless it was an exceptionally unusual circumstance, then this information could serve as a currency that can be exchanged for money at any time.
He doesn’t have to make a decision right now.
‘The question is what comes after.’
Rather, there is something to worry about right now.
‘I need to get a linked quest.’
Midas’ hard-earned 30 pieces of goblin leather was to obtain a hidden quest from Hyden.
There was no problem in obtaining it.
‘Without friction with the Explorer’s Guild.’
The problem is that in the process, you have to overcome the situation against the manager of the explorer guild who clings to Hayden.
If there is suspicion, then there might be trouble in the future.
‘Well, it’s nothing too difficult.’
Of course, the answer to the problem had already been prepared.
‘Because the customer is a king. In particular, the true customer is the King of Kings. ‘
5.
The most important thing in the service industry is management.
Even if you have a good business, there is no use if it is not properly managed.
That’s why in the Explorer’s Guild, they attach managers to each NPC.
“Thank you for your hard work.”
That’s why Midas greeted manager Yol first then NPC Hyden.
To such Midas’ greeting, Yol nodded lightly.
“Yes, are you here for the Quest?”
“No, I’m here for the Quest Reward. “
Midas showed the proof with the Explorer’s guild card that he showed at the time of the quest.
Yol nodded after confirming the proof.
“You have gathered the ingredients pretty quickly.”
Yol, who confirmed the time on the confirmation certificate, said that at the completion of an earlier quest.
“You are quite skilled it seems.”
“How could I be.”
A brief conversation came and went naturally.
“I thought I was going to die when I went to go catch a goblin.”
“Is that so?”
In the short conversation, Yol was able to come up with a conclusion in his head.
‘A Newbie.’
The player in front of him is a beginner who has never played God Wars and would have been a nightmare to hunt a goblin.
And he also realized in the process.
‘Looks like he gave up and bought the ingredients.’
He realized that it was impossible to collect item materials on his own, so he bought them at the auction house.
“At first, I was going to hunt for goblins and collect materials to try to get used to them while I enjoyed the game, but it seems like it will be a game over for me if I did that.”
As if he read Yol’s thoughts, Midas came up with the same answer as Yol expected.
Yol smiled lightly.
‘I knew it.’
A smile from the fact that his expectations were right.
‘A pushover for some time.’
It was a mocking smile for the fact that the character in front of him would become one of the countless wards devoting money to God of Wars.
Usually, that was the case.
‘If you can’t catch a goblin, you can’t do anything by yourself.’
When Yol earned a salary from the Explorer’s Guild and became a manager, he couldn’t catch the goblin among the players he saw, so he bought a really useless item of material at an expensive price.
Players that just started out the quest usually failed to play the game on their own.
Subsequently, results were also almost obvious.
‘After all, they have no choice but to get help from us.’
In RPGs, players who couldn’t even play a part in the hunt were, of course, not invited to the party, and even if they were, similarly skilled players eventually gathered together, and the following party will hardly give any result.
Eventually, they pay a high price to purchase the package reward from the Explorer’s Guild or hire helpers from the Explorer’s Guild to level up.
They were the biggest driving force of the Explorer’s Guild.
‘Dumbasses.’
Those who pay for the game in God of Wars, Yol did not have to call them dumbasses.
Naturally, Yol’s face looking at Midas was that of him being more inferior to himself.
It was the look Midas was waiting for.
“Then I’ll get some quest rewards.”
As soon as he saw the expression, Midas spoke to Hayden.
“It’s the goblin leather you asked for. I brought it all. “
“Oh! Good work. “
A short conversation came and went with NPC Haydn.
Yol just looked at the process without changing his expression.
As soon as the system notification was heard, Midas shouted in bewilderment.
“Uh? What?”
In a sudden turmoil, Yoll tilted his head, and Midas said out loud as if he should listen.
“Why take all the goblin skins?”
While Yol’s face hardened in a strange way, NPC Hyden moved first.
“Your abilities are great. So, could you please do me a favor? “
“Yes?”
“Give me the goblin’s grudge that only a handful of goblins have.”
With that, Midas replied with a blank expression.
“Oh, yes.”
Immediately, he heard a notification, and Midas said to Yol in amazement.
“Uh? I have a quest? “
At that moment, Yol’s face was hardened.
“A Quest?”
Whether or not a quest has occurred can be noticed only by talking with an NPC.
That was why the Explorer’s Guild’s managers stuck next to the NPC.
From the perspective of the Explorer’s Guild, the NPC was a product.
In other words, the situation is that of an NPC giving a product to a customer who did not pay for it.
If this was intended, it would be taken as Explorer’s Guild being robbed.
“No, so I tried to buy goblin leather at the auction site and accidentally bought 30……. “
But what if it wasn’t intended?
Then the situation becomes complicated.
“He suddenly took everything?”
So Midas was willing to act like a fool.
As an incompetent pushover fool of a player in God Wars that can’t play any game without paying money.
“Manager, you saw that right? I didn’t do anything. Damn it! The quest only says 10 goblin leathers, but now my remaining twenty goblin leathers just became worthless! “
At that moment Midas changed the mood.
“No, shouldn’t you be telling me this in advance? If you were paid and provided a quest, you should tell me well! What are you going to do about my 20 Goblin Leathers? “
Rather, he began to demand compensation.
And Midas’ words were quite valid.
In his part, isn’t the situation where he lost 20 goblin leathers because the Explorer’s Guild did not properly explain the service?
Above all, he was in a situation where he bought the service for money.
‘The weakness of the Explorer’s guild is that it is weak to customers.’
That was the weakness of the explorer’s guild.
They were like a Grim reaper to those who interfered with their business, but on the contrary, they had to provide enough services in front of customers.
‘The answer is obvious at this point.’
Of course, the Explorer’s Guild has made their own manual for this type of situation.
“I apologize. Explorer’s Guild does not know all quests and this is a pity, but it is your mistake.”
It’s your responsibility, so take care of it.
“It is also stated in clear transaction terms.”
They already made a hole to escape.
“What are the terms?”
“It is clearly stated that we will strictly comply with the information we provide, otherwise we will take full responsibility for it.”
Terms.
Midas smiled into Yol’s words referring to it.
‘Yes, I know it very well.’
He knew very well that there were such terms.
“Damn, that means you can’t compensate?”
“Yes.”
“Then I have to take responsibility for this quest?”
“Yes.”
“It’s my responsibility whether you break this quest or not, don’t ask the Explorer’s Guild, do it yourself?”
“Yes.”
Midas is full of anger at Yol’s response who looks very composed, and it feels like a dream to have a conversation with his expression full of dissatisfaction within his expression.
Then he sighed.
“Why, why is my luck like this……. “
Yol exhaled a sigh of relief inside.
‘I almost got screwed.’
Yol found out that the situation had ended evidently because of his good handling.
‘I almost had to write an apology because of this dumbass pushover.’
At that moment, they ran into an invisible wall between Midas and himself.
He didn’t want to be associated with this troublesome guy anymore, he didn’t even want to talk, meaning ‘don’t talk to me anymore’, the wall had that kind of meaning.
In front of him, Midas said,
“Damn, I will definitely pass this quest somehow. 20 pieces of my goblin leather ……. “
Along with such an attitude, Midas grasped the quest window.
-Quest Rank: Rare
-Quest Rank: Rare
-Quest level: Level 10 or below
-Quest Content: Hyden highly regarded your ability and made a special request. Get 2 Goblin’s Resentment.
-Quest reward: 30 gold, experience, favorability
! When you gather 7 of Goblin’s Resentment, a ‘Hyden’s Research (Rating: Unique)’ event occurs.
‘Huh?’
Midas, who confirmed the quest, said to Yol.
“I ask again, this quest is something found by me and the Explorer’s Guild is not connected to this Quest in any way whether I manage to clear it or not, right?”
Yol nodded without answering as if he no longer liked to talk to Midas anymore.
Looking at such an expression, Midas smiled in his heart.
‘Of course, I should clear it then.’

Ars Magica
Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)

Monstrous Path
This story is both dark and lighthearted, it will have a lot of deaths and gore scenes but not just for the sake of being edgy or something like that. Every being comes from someone’s life — a womb, an egg, the world, a God, and from itself. Then what about me? I came from a container, so what does that make me? Am I still a being? “I do not know — I want to understand — why?” This was my driving force to live when I opened my eyes, I had no need for food, I only needed to satiate my curiosity. But as I learned early on, life was not as simple as it seemed. Note: The Characters in this world would always have a reason for living, and the world moves not just because of the MC. This would also have a lot of tearjerking scenes (or so I would hope) Culture, Race, Government, and Language can and will be different and though some Races like Elves and Dwarves are present, please do not think that they are the same as every other.
