Chapter 117 – Power Game (part six)
“Just what am I supposed to do…?” Jeru wondered while swinging his greatsword towards me.
“Are you thinking about crying about your defeat now or later?” I asked him while jumping back to dodge.
“It’s just so hard to find a solution…” He said while blocking an attack from Hannes, “Oh, I got it! I’ll kill Rena, the princess, the order party, and then kill as many people as needed from both armies!” So that was his conclusion on the method to keep his karma at 0?
“You crazy psychopath…” Hannes commented.
Well, I suppose I really can’t let him do as he pleases, so let’s make sure he dies here, “<Shadow Copy>” I used a skill to make my shadows extend from the odachi to my other hand, creating a second Odachi in it, and then separating both shadows to make two different weapons that I’d use with the <Dual Wield> skill.
“What’s that skill even!?” Hannes shouted. I was a bit surprised that he had time to comment on my skill while he was being attacked by Jeru, but I made use of this opportunity to throw a big explosive towards the support magician and priestess of his party. The spearman and swordsman tried to stop me, but I dodged their attacks and threw it anyways.
“She dodged us both!?” The swordsman exclaimed.
“Eleanor! Cherry!” The spearman shouted. Using this opportunity, I used my Odachis to blow them both away before throwing more poisonous explosives at their rearguard.
“Die!” Hannes shouted while trying to hit me with his axe, but I blocked his attack and ducked below an arrow aimed at my head.
“I won’t die this easily.” I replied.
“Guess you guys are in trouble.” Jeru told Hannes while trying to attack us both with his greatsword, “I’m a bit surprised this is all you can do while being recognized by the Genocider.”
“Gotta say I’m a bit disappointed too… Oh?” I was saying as I saw Hannes barely dodging the greatsword’s attack. However, Hannes also made use of the opportunity to grab hold of my Odachi, while his two fighter allies attacked me from the sides… It would be a bit troublesome to lose my sword, but I’d need to let go of the odachi if I were to dodge their attacks… Or so must they think.
“Kageyama.” I called.
“What the!?” They exclaimed in unison as I made my odachi disappear, dodged their attacks, made a new odachi and blew the two fighters off at once. They should have expected me to be able to make the shadow sword appear and disappear.
“Sorry Hannes, I’m out!” One of them shouted as I rushed towards him to finish him off.
“<Leveling the Earth>” Hannes used a skill that created a strong earthquake and made me lose balance. I wouldn’t be able to dodge properly if I was attacked in this condition, so I decided to stop the pursuit and jump onto my threads to escape it. Jeru on the other hand simply stabbed his sword at the ground to keep his balance, “Well, it’s about time… Rena, you lose.” Hannes then said.

“What do you mean…?” I asked him when hearing this sudden statement. Jeru seemed to be confused too, “Seems like you didn’t notice it… Don’t you remember what were the conditions to clear the Epic Quest?”
“You can’t be saying that-” I started replying, but his allies answered first.
“Hannes! We rescued the princess!” The priestess shouted. She was next to the magician and was carrying the princess on her back… That was my mistake, I should have double checked to be sure they were dead instead of just assuming my explosives took care of them, “We just need to escape and we win now!” she said.
“So you’re going to end it like this?” I asked him.
“I feel a little better now that we finally got the upper hand against her!” The swordsman said.
“It’s a bit disappointing though…” The spearman replied… Was this actually their plan from the beginning? To distract me and Jeru while they rescued her?
That is… I started laughing. That was such a well-executed plan! They are really great at entertaining me! This is definitely a relationship I want to maintain for a long while!
But… “Do you really think I’ll let you run this easily?” I asked them.
“Just who is running?” Hannes asked back.
“Weren’t you going to retreat after obtaining the prize though?” I asked him once more… He can’t seriously expect to beat both me and Jeru while protecting the princess, can he?
“As if! I’m gonna beat you for good this time around! Everyone, you take the princess to a safe place, I’ll take care of these two!” Hannes told his companions.
“Oh my…” I said. Now that was a bit surprising… Though also entertaining.
“Don’t try to take on more than you can handle, junior.” Jeru commented.
“And you’re my senior…?” Hannes asked him… That doesn’t matter though, I wanna see the results of this bold declaration of his.
However, I won’t let things go as they’re planning, “Hanako! Takeo! Kill the people carrying the princess!”
“Wait, the Genocider has allies with her!?” One of Hannes’ allies said.
“Focus, Kellin! We’re escorts!” Another ally said. I’m unsure if Hanako and Takeo can really take them out, but if I can quickly defeat Hannes, I can just pursue them myself. My servants will at the very least slow them down in this meanwhile.
“I will not let you hurt anyone else! <For the strong and the weak: One For All>!” Hannes activated a skill that vastly increased his stats and that allowed him to blow me and Jeru away with a single blow of his axe… That was impressive alright, “I will help the princess and will defeat you! <Divine Oath: I won’t allow the occurrence of any atrocities>!”
I tried stabbing Hannes, but my attack was stopped by an arrow coated in lightning coming towards me. Jeru tried to behead Hannes in this meanwhile, but Hannes blocked the greatsword with his axe and said, “<Divine Oath: I won’t yield even if all my limbs are broken>!”

Re:Hammer - The Hammering
Sequel to the sort of liked Re:Hammer. Set in 40k universe, and generally on course. Personal changes are detailed in the Prologue because it's quite a bit. It's not really ended nor is it an attrocity like End Times, but I've got a few things to change. To note: Druchii arc (If this means nothing to you, go read Re:Hammer first) has been learned from and will be avoided. This is not to say there won't be any sex, but we will certainly try to keep it less crazy. Feedback is, as always, appreciated and worked with.

Rocket Riders of the 27th Century is a science fiction book series that follows the adventures of Captain Harridor Tarsik and the crew of the rocketship Honshu as they make their way in a turbulent and highly competitive universe. Book 2: Where the Stars FallCatapulted through both space and time the crew find themselves shipwrecked on an impossible world. They will race against time to save themselves from savage wildlife and a cataclysmic historical event. Book 3: The Yesterday DilemmaWith their lives in disarray and reality shattering around them the crew must track down the one responsible for it all while being hunted themselves by a phantom warship. Being the God of Hell is a bother [On temporary hiatus]
A group of people dies in a plane crash, but their souls are snatched away by an entity called the Highest One, that wants to make them the gods of a new world in order to guide and control its population. One of the passengers, Viktor, protests this, saying that the people of the new world should be entitled to find their own path in life without immortal beings ruling over them. The Highest One then ask Viktor if he really has that much faith in humanity, and after Viktor answer positively he made him into the God of Hell, tasked with redeeming the souls of the damned, as a way to test Viktor's faith in humanity... EDIT: I'm reworking this novel a bit, changing the first chapters from the "screenplay" form to standard prose. I should be done and start a shedule of one chapter per week at the end of february.
