Despite hearing that Nobunaga didn't listen she stayed in the same position, seeing that he had no choice but to back step back himself.

After replying to them, he continued to walk inside the school gate, suddenly he noticed that both Kyōka and Meru were signaling each other through their eyes, it was something that ordinary people wouldn't notice.

Seeing this, they were obviously going to do something to him, although he'd like to stop them so that he could avoid a troublesome situation but...he remembered Nobunaga's advice so he decided to let it be and see what they were up to.
