《Rise of the Great Emperor 》Chapter 24: Nothing

It was a dark cave, yet there was still dim light from some herbs that stuck on some of the wall. Lin Xiao had learned about this Light Night Moss. The moss could light up when it was dark because it was producing light on its own.
As for how, he was not sure himself.
Lin Xiao walked out of the water and stretched his body. The distance to the river was not that far and this place was quite hidden. If he wanted to hide in the future, he might be able to come here.
'I wonder why no one ever found this place before. Oh, I need to make sure that there's truly no one around.'
The cave had nothing inside aside from rocks and some Light Night Moss. Lin Xiao didn't find any plant around as he walked around the area. The density of the Qi felt a bit higher than outside, but only by a little bit. Even if he spent his time training here, the increase would be minimal.
After walking for a bit, Lin Xiao noticed that the cave was actually quite large. There were several paths inside with Light Night Moss covering the wall that helped him to see everything.
There's nothing at the left.
There's nothing at the right…
There's nothing at the front.....
After walking for some time, Lin Xiao came into conclusion that this was an empty cave. He was thoroughly disappointed.
"Didn't they always say that there would be ancient secret inside a hidden cave where one can get something special? How come there's nothing inside this cave?"
Lin Xiao felt like sulking. He heard from his father that if they ever encountered a special hidden place, there was a high chance that they might be able to obtain something valuable.

But….
It seemed to be more like a story rather than the truth.
There was nothing inside this cave that Lin Xiao found through coincidence because he wanted to avoid meeting with anyone from the village. If they found out that he was the one who brought the bull into the village, they wouldn't spare him.
'I'll just take some of the moss.
The moss would be able to help him look when he was travelling in the water. In addition, he knew that the moss could be used for some medicine. His brother might know some or Wenren Yu might be able to use it.
Just taking a bit of the moss should be fine.
Lin Xiao used his knife and cut the moss. He gathered around the size of his palm then he kept his knife again. Even though it was a shame that this cave didn't have anything valuable, it might be able to become his escape place in the future or if he wanted to gather more Light Night Moss.
Splash!
Entering the water once more, Lin Xiao swam back to the direction where he went before. With the help of the moss in his hand, now he could see that the path was made of natural rocks. It was uneven with some parts poking out here and there.
Probably the shift in the mountain might block this route in a few more years.
As Lin Xiao got out of the cave, he noticed that there was a big rock that was supposed to be blocking the route. As it continuously pushed by the water, it was moving bit by bit until the place that was supposed to be covered could be seen again.
Splash!
'I should return the rock to its position.'
After taking a deep breath, Lin Xiao put the Light Night Moss on top of a rock near the river then swam again. He used his hand and started to try moving the rock that was supposed to be blocking the route.

It was moving bit by bit.
After trying for over an hour, Lin Xiao managed to block the route a bit, but there was not much progress. His strength was not enough to move that large rock when he was inside the water.
If it was outside, he might not think it was difficult.
'Crap, it's already over midday.'
The sun was slowly setting on the West and Lin Xiao knew that traveling to the forest at this point of time would be too dangerous. He had no other choice but to return back empty handed with just this Light Night Moss.
Before long, Lin Xiao had returned back.
"Brother, you're back?"
"Yes." Lin Xiao put the Light Night Moss on the table. "I didn't manage to hunt anything, but I get this."
"Oh, there's no need to worry about that. Shopkeeper Wan's son came yesterday and told us that there's a feast tomorrow. Su Hei managed to defeat a rank 1 bull with everyone's help."
Lin Xiao arched his eyebrows. It seemed that the bull was still not a match against Body Training Rank 8. He needed to get even stronger if he wanted to defeat the bull by himself in the future.
"With everyone?"
"Yes. They said that it's strange for a bull to appear near the river, but since it's still quite early in the morning, there are still a lot of people. They all cooperate together and decided to invite everyone for a feast."
"Oh."
"You don't seem to be interested, Brother."
"Well, since they're giving free meat, we should be thankful to them," Lin Xiao said with a grin. "Just eat to your fill tomorrow, Yun."
"Of course, Brother!"
Wenren Yu rolled his eyes when he heard the sibling's conversation. Weren't they worried that the villagers would think that they were shameless for eating so much even though they didn't do anything?
However, he didn't voice out his opinion as his line of sight fell onto the moss.
His brows furrowed. "Lin Xiao, where did you get this moss?"
