《Rise of the Great Emperor 》Chapter 27: Feast (2)

Obviously, Su Han had never said everything exactly like what Lin Xiao said, but the meaning of his words could be interpreted that way. After all, most villagers were too afraid to face the bull and chose to run away when the bull did come.
The one who decided that the bull should be shared with everyone in the village was Su Hei, the leader of the hunting squad. If his brother, Su Han, instead told everyone that they were not allowed to eat the meat, wasn't it the same as slapping his own face.
Su Han's face turned red when his thoughts reached this path. He looked at Lin Xiao with hatred. "I'm not saying it like that! I'm only targeting you!"
"Targeting me?" Lin Xiao laughed coolly. "And why do you target me specifically? Is it because I'm already body training rank 5? Also, should I remind you that I'm not in the village when the incident happens and obviously didn't know that a bull come charging here until you told us everything?"
Lin Xiao was not the only villager here who was at body training rank 5. In fact, most of the villagers were at least body training rank 5 when they were already an adult. Only some of the poorer one would be at the lower rank.
However, not everyone joined the hunting squad because they would rather farm. Hunting could be dangerous and not everyone liked putting their own lives at risk. Staying in the village and farm would be a much safer option for the majority of the villagers here.
Because of that, the hunting squad itself only consisted of 20 or so people who liked fighting more than farming.
"Since you're already body training rank 5, you should…"
Peng!
Before Su Han could finish his words, he was hit from the back and thrown to the side. Landing on the ground with sorry face, Su Han was at lost about what had happened. He turned his head to the back and saw his brother looking at him with menacing gaze.

"B…Brother?"
"Mind your words. Everyone is free to come today," Su Hei said in cold tone. His icy gaze looked at his own brother as if he was seeing something that was nothing more than a trash.
Usually, he would not lash out at his brother. No matter how much Su Han created trouble in the past, it was also a fact that Su Han was much stronger than most of the other youngsters. Because Su Han was also more talented than Su Hei, the latter had no other choice but to give in.
But now that they were no longer aiming for Taiyi Sect, his patience was running thin. Su Han had started to cross the line over and over.
Su Hei moved his line of sight to Lin Xiao and nodded lightly. However, his cold and chilling gaze seemed as if he wanted to skin Lin Xiao alive if only it was possible.
"Brother."
"Yes?"
"I feel like he doesn't like you very much," Lin Yun commented.
Lin Xiao arched his eyebrows then laughed lightly. "Why would he like me when I already created several troubles in the hunting squad before?"
"True, Brother is a troublemaker."
Lin Xiao: "" why are you also saying that?
Even though Lin Xiao knew that it was the truth, hearing his own brother termed him that way didn't feel too pleasant. Was it because he created too much trouble lately to the point that his fame shot up again.
Hmm, it didn't seem to be that bad.
His attention was soon shifted because the elders have arrived on the scene. They walked to the table almost immediately. The three elders looked excited because they didn't have any casualties and could have such a great reward from battle.

Elder Su stepped forward. "I want to thank the Heaven for giving us this precious bull straight to our door. It has been some time since we successfully hunt something so big and because of that, we're also thankful for the cooperation of the villagers who work together to hunt it."
It has been some time since they successfully hunt something? What a bullsh*t!
Lin Xiao clearly remembered that during the time he took the test, Su Hei had managed to hunt one wild pig. While it was just a normal animal and was not that big, it was already more than enough to share to the entire village.
However, there was no news of the pig ever made it into the village. Those in the hunting squad ate it all for themselves because half belonged to Su Hei while the other half belonged to the hunting squad.
What a good hunting squad.
They only shared when they have excess, which rarely happened. Thanks to that, the price of meat was usually high in the village and only those within the hunting squad could enjoy the meat daily.
'I'll get stronger so that I can hunt by myself.'
Lin Xiao clenched his fist and looked away. The second elder had also started his speech, but he was no longer in the mood to listen to their bullsh*t. They were talking as if it was very rare for them to get so much meat like this.
"Now, let's all start eating."
"Yay!"
The villagers waited patiently for the three elders to take their meat's portion before they queued and took the pieces of meat.
Everyone got a large portion and many of them chose to bring it home to store it away. They wanted to preserve the meat for as long as possible.

Two And A Half Deadmen
Silver-Spruce is a very strange and very haunted town. Ghosts inhabit its buildings and walk its streets. Some of them friendly and sane. Some of them not so much. Alder helps ghosts. Helps them fulfill their last requests so they can move on to whatever comes next. Sometimes the ghosts aren't so friendly and have to be moved on by force. Alder does that as well. And he's gotten rather good at it too. After a particularly rough exorcism, he finds himself following a strange ghost to a local tourist attraction. And while Alder never means to find himself caught up in chaos, monsters, magic, and mayhem always seem to have a way of finding him. You want more specifics for what you're reading? Here you go: This is Urban-fantasy but a little bit of a different spin. Often the protagonists in such stories tend to be the bigger fish in their world, or at least far from small fry. Be they legendary boogie men or badass wizards (which is in no way a bad thing, I love a lot of those stories.) But I thought it would be fun to have a protagonist who's far closer to the bottom end of the scale. He has some magic, and it's potent in its own way. But he isn't the big dog or a fighting machine. Outside of his bubble of influence, our protagonist is essentially a normal human as far as powers are concerned. And while you should be warned that this story will get dark in some places it's (hopefully) balanced out by humor and the lighter stuff. I'm not sure how to end this synopsis section so I'll just say bye. Bye!
