《Rise of the Great Emperor 》Chapter 62: Killing Su Han

'it's still bad.'
Lin Xiao didn't have much chance to observe Bai Xin back then, so he naturally still couldn't really use the skill. Not to mention, this kind of learning method was simply unorthodox because they would not teach them the breathing and circulation method.
Some skills required specific and special breathing or circulation method to be able to executed properly. Because of this, learning simply by observation was very difficult. If they have to learn the breathing method and circulation method separately on their own, it would be extremely hard.
Simple skills would be possible, but those important skills wouldn't be possible.
*ugh*
Su Hei was about to stand when he suddenly felt that something pricked his neck. Just as he was about to turn around, he saw Lin Xiao was already in front of him. With a punch about to land on his face, he quickly raised his hand.
Bang!
The waves destroyed the surrounding leaves. Su Hei swiftly jumped back and tried to distance himself. However, he suddenly felt that his body was growing heavy as if something was pulling his body down even though he was fine just a few moments ago.
His eyes landed on the bush before him.
'Poisonous plants?'
It was not rare for poisonous plants to be found in this area. After all, they were living inside the forest with various type of vegetation. Poisonous plant was just one among many other plants in this forest.
At this moment, Su Hei came into decision to retreat. If he was truly poisoned, it would be bad for him to get involved any longer.
Swish!
Seeing that he retracted in the direction of Su Han, Lin Xiao furrowed his brows. "Yun, retreat to the house."
Lin Yun, who was busy venting his anger to Su Han, stood up almost immediately and initiated Moon Evasion. While his skill was poorer than his brother, it was more than enough to send him away from Su Han.

The badly wounded Su Han was scooped to Su Hei's arm while he ran in the direction of the village.
"Brother, are we letting them off just like that?" Lin Yun asked with cold glint. He knew that if it was not for his brother, he might not be able to survive.
Lin Xiao sneered. "Does he think that he'll be able to get out safely?"
The direction where Su Hei went was towards the cliff. Because of Su Han's screams from before, Lin Xiao knew that the villagers would soon come here. They might be quite isolated, but if someone was screaming so loudly for a long period of time, it was impossible for the villagers to not hear them at all.
Lin Yun looked at the cliff. "He can't?"
"He's poisoned."
From behind the bushes, Wenren Yu stood up. His clothes were messy and there were several leaves stuck onto his robe. However, the faint glint within his eyes showed his determination that was rarely shown in his face.
"You poison him?" Lin Yun was startled. It didn't need a genius for him to understand what had happened.
Lin Xiao looked in the direction where Su Han and Su Hei went. His lips curled up to form a sneer. Normal people wouldn't bother using the cliff's method to reach their residence because it was simply too dangerous. However, it was exactly what Su Han and Su Hei did.
And they were completely unaware of the trap he had formed there.
"Let's go and watch the show."
"Watch?"
Wenren Yu looked towards the other route towards the village and shook his head. "I'll hide. You two go first."
"Got it. Be careful."
"I know."
The two siblings rushed over in the direction of the cliff. They could see Su Hei ran from a distance away and the sound of villagers were heard from the other side of the cliff. Su Hei's eyes glinted with ruthlessness when he saw the villagers.

"Lin Xiao wants to kill us! RUN!"
"Huh?"
"What?"
The villagers were bewildered. They could see Su Hei ran frantically and there were two people who were chasing after them from behind.
Lin Xiao sneered. "And what do you think the reason is, Su Han? You're the one trespassing into my house, attacking my younger brother and now you're trying to run away?"
"What are you talking about?! You're talking nonsense!"
"Nonsense? Just watch where you are right now, Idiot!"
They were still in the area not far from Lin Xiao's home. His words were more credible compared to the nonsense that both Su Hei and Su Han spouted out of panic. It was clear that these two didn't think much when they were talking.
How stupid.
Even Lin Yun felt that these two couldn't be compared to his stupid brother. His brother was not that smart, but at the very least, he knew how to use his brain to create believable story not like them.
"And now you still want to kill us in front of the villagers?" Su Hei asked again as he arrived before the cliff. Looking at the hanging roots, he knew that it would be impossible to bring two people at once.
Both he and Su Han had large body. If they were still children, their weight wouldn't be that much, but right now, it was impossible. They had to cross the cliff one by one.
'Damn it, I should have run in the other direction.'
Su Hei didn't think much when he was running, so he accidentally ran in the direction of the cliff. If only he could think clearly for a moment, he would have never chosen this path no matter how much courage he had.
"Su Han, you have to cross by yourself!"
"Brother!"
"Go!"
Su Han could hold the hanging roots properly, so Su Hei circled it on his waist. At the same time, he could see Lin Xiao and Lin Yun were still a distance away, but they were quite close. Without thinking, he pushed Su Han towards the other side of the cliff.
"Stop here." Lin Xiao stopped running.
"Brother?"
Lin Yun was obedient and followed whatever Lin Xiao said despite not understanding why they didn't get any closer.
Su Hei was gloating, thinking that they wouldn't come closer because they couldn't. However, he could hear his brother scream at this very moment.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

The Laptop Hero (Portal/Isekai LitRPG)
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] - April 2022 Silas got summoned to another world—by a group of kids attending magic school who seemed rather unhappy with the results of their ritual. After a brief glimpse of his summoners Silas woke in the town dump. Unable to speak the local language, a misunderstanding escalated and before long Silas wound up in a jail cell, the locals having confiscated all his worldly possessions aside from his laptop, which had formed some strange bond with him. Now he can summon his laptop at will, and he can view his Status, level up, and gain powerful skills and magic as if he were some character in a video game, which is great and everything, but all Silas really wants to do is sit in a dark room and play games on his laptop. Only, life isn't a game, and Silas needs to get his act together because everyone else is playing for keeps. Or does he? Maybe for Silas life is just one big game now, with everyone else stuck playing by his rules. Assorted Disclaimers, in no particular order: I am only posting this on RoyalRoad.com, so if you find my story elsewhere it was not posted by me. Please do let me know! While I do consider this a progression fantasy, and have tagged it as such, Silas's Status improvements will not necessarily proceed in a linear fashion. His RPG stats will have ups and downs, exploits and nerfs, periods of growth and stagnation. Such is the life of a gamer, to be held under the thumb of the all powerful devs, or in this case a certain goddess devoted to the idea of Balance. SIlas himself should learn and grow, improving and progressing in areas where he struggles, or rather, to show such is my goal. The story is told from multiple points of view. While other PoVs will come and go, Silas shall remain the only lead character. The world Silas finds himself on is not a nice place. Expect him to encounter gore and traumatizing content and bad people who do bad things for selfish (or possibly noble) reasons from time to time. Some characters will use profanity, however due to cultural differences the curse words used will differ from those used in our corner of reality, so I'm not including the profanity content warning. Silas himself isn't one for foul language. No explicit sexual content here. This novel is intended for mature readers, however, and will include mature topics, including, but not limited to, sex, violence, death, and taxes. No harem. Might be an eventual romantic interest, possibly even some competitive jealousy, yet as his story begins Silas is too overwhelmed with other concerns to consider long term plans. Musophobics might want to steer clear of this story. Same goes for turophobics. You have been warned. Keep in mind, however, if my other disclaimers didn't make this clear, I only have the faintest of outlines at the moment. This story will take me where it will. My goal with this story is to write it to the end, something of a long-term writing exercise, with the hope others might take an interest in my work and encourage me to keep at it. I've started a number of works before, even finished a few, but this is the first time I've shared any work in a public forum. My temporary cover was made by me, in GIMP using public domain images. If you can do better I'll happily accept your submission and give credit for your work here!

Eulisses Malinor is a prodigious and somewhat reclusive wizard with an unconventional outlook on life itself. The latter may or may not be related to him shedding the burdens of mortality some time ago. He claims that every wizard that takes pride in themself needs to reside in a tower in the middle of nowhere. It definitely has nothing to do with the Addia fanatics that continue to seek him out. Successfuly, much to his discontent. Ever out to ‘cleanse’ him, or bloody murder him if you'd ask the lich himself. But soon, that will no longer be a problem, as Eulisses has finally gathered every reagent - magical or otherwise he needs. He will tear open and stabilize a miniature Rift, essentially creating his very-own pocket realm in which even Addia’s gaze will no longer be able to reach him. Everything has been carefully planned out in advance, so there is no possibility of failure. You can maybe then imagine his bafflement, when instead of the nothingness of his successfully created pocket realm, Eulisses finds himself in a quite holy looking hall, amidst quite too-baffled looking fellows, in the centre of a gigantic summoning circle - allegedly, he cannot read the runes that make it up - and facing a young and quite fair maiden that stares at him quite wide-eyed.
