《Rise of the Great Emperor 》Chapter 63: Fight!

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
"Su Han!"
Turning his body around, Su Hei's face was grief stricken. He could see the powerful hanging roots were no longer intact. It snapped in the middle and brought Su Han down the cliff.
'NO!'
Su Hei gripped the next hanging root and then a thought flashed within his mind. He yanked the hanging root as hard as possible.
Snap!
The hanging root was cut a few meters above him. His face turned pale as he realized that if he had chosen to take this hanging root, he would have fallen into his death. Looking at Su Han's disappearing silhouette, he realized that there was nothing he could do aside from watching with dumbfounded expression.
Soon, his brother's scream disappeared along with his body into the bottomless cliff.
"LIN XIAO!"
"What? Are you blaming me that the hanging roots is not strong enough?" Lin Xiao asked with a sneer.
Su Hei's eyes were red. He was following his younger brother to take advantage of the situation. But who would have thought that what happened would be the complete opposite.
His younger brother died and he gained nothing but wounds.
How vexing.
"If it's not you, who else could it be?" Su Hei roared angrily.
Lin Xiao rolled his eyes. "Do you even see me tampering the hanging roots? It's already there for as long as I can remember. Who told you to not use the one that I usually use?"
But of course, Lin Xiao was the one who actually cut the hanging roots. He often climbed up and create some cuts to the hanging roots that were near their place. This way, it would be hard for them to figure out which one was the save one.
He would be the exception because he could recognize which one he usually used and also the one that hadn't been cut. Besides, there was no way he would want to use the hanging roots when he was wounded.

If it snaps in the middle, he would have to switch to others as fast as possible and climb up.
"You must have done that purposely, you bastard!"
"Heh, do you really think that I would know you're going to use the hanging roots, Su Hei? There's no villager who come to this place most of the time because you all just love to rot in your own village without caring for the two people who lived at the edge of your village!"
"Shut up!"
Swish!
Seeing Su Hei rushed over in their direction, Lin Xiao swiftly raised his arm. "Get away, Yun!"
"Yes!"
With Moon Evasion, Lin Yun was no outside of Su Hei's attack range. He was silently also preparing himself to launch a sneak attack against Su Hei in case it was necessary. After all, Su Hei was Body Training Rank 8, two ranks higher than Lin Xiao and three ranks higher than him.
They have to be very careful.
Bang!
The two clashed and Lin Xiao was pushed to the back. Internally, Lin Xiao was complaining to himself. After all, he would need to learn defensive skill as soon as possible if he wished to stay alive.
Su Hei didn't stop there. He lunged forward, trying to attack Lin Xiao with his punch once more.
Swish!
Lin Xiao evaded the attack and attempted Snake Counterattack again. However, his movement was too slow and failed to grab Su Hei's arm. With a jerk, he quickly rolled on the side to evade the attack.
"You bastard!"
Bang!
Before Su Hei could attack Lin Xiao, who was on the ground, Lin Yun punched from the back. As Body Training Rank 5, his strength was not that big, but it was more than enough for him to stop Su Hei from attacking Lin Xiao.

Lin Xiao's eyes lit up as he punched forward.
"STOP!"
Bang!
"Didn't you hear me telling you to stop?"
Lin Xiao moved back while Su Hei was coughing. The last attack effectively hit Su Hei's stomach. He glanced to the back and saw Elder Su came. In fact, he already knew that there was someone there.
As someone who also spent his time to hunt for the past few months, Lin Xiao had already honed his senses to a certain degree. Detecting an elder coming was not that hard.
Behind Elder Su was the other two elders. They were slower than Elder Su, but it was clear that they had seen what happened here.
Looking at their expression, Lin Xiao sneered internally.
'You already arrive here since long ago but you didn't step in to help because you want to see me die? It wouldn't be that easy.'
"Father!" Su Hei called and rushed over. He glanced at Lin Xiao's direction meaningfully before hurried over. While he was already an adult, there was nothing wrong for him to make use of his connection when he could.
"Explain what happened here!"

Of Men and Dragons, Book 1
Book 1 is now available on Kindle, or in paperback/hardcover! You can buy it here! Jack crash-landed on a planet where the natives are seven-foot-tall carnivorous cat-lizards currently somewhere between stone and bronze age. The good news is the natives think the ship that crashed into their mountain is a dragon and are steering clear of it. The bad news is they just left one of their own as a sacrifice to appease the beast. No matter what Jack and his AI co-pilot decide, his life just got a lot more complicated... ATTENTION: This is soft sci-fi rather than hard sci-fi, hence why I chose that tag. For those of you unfamiliar with the distinction, here's what Wikipedia had to say. 1. It explores the "soft" sciences, and especially the social sciences (for example, anthropology, sociology, or psychology), rather than engineering or the "hard" sciences (for example, physics, astronomy, or chemistry). 2. It is not scientifically accurate or plausible; the opposite of hard science fiction. Soft science fiction of either type is often more concerned with character and speculative societies, rather than speculative science or engineering. The term first appeared in the late 1970s and is attributed to Australian literary scholar Peter Nicholls.
