《My Passive Skills are Invincible!》Chapter 214: The Price of Life

At this moment, everyone's attention shifted to Mike. No one noticed the faint light emitted by the soul stone.
Mike, on the other hand, slowly walked towards the young stone giants in front of him with his long sword.
At this moment, these stone giants seemed to feel a sense of danger from Mike.
But they could not move at all, and their bodies trembled slightly.
Fear!
It spread crazily from the bottom of their hearts!
There were some things that players and NPCs might not be able to sense.
The passage of time allowed them to acquire high intelligence, but it also made them lose some of their abilities.
For example, their senses were as sensitive as beasts. Neither the centaurs nor Timus could clearly sense Mike's change, but the young stone giants could feel it very clearly.
They felt a strong killing intent from Mike's body.
This was the killing intent that only came from slaughtering countless creatures!
At this moment, in the eyes of these young Stone Giants, Mike was not a human, but the most terrifying evil spirit in the world.
One step, two steps.
Mike was getting closer and closer to these stone giants.
As Mike got closer, the stone giants could not bear the mental burden and fell to the ground, their bodies shook uncontrollably. Then, Mike walked to one of the stone giants.
The stone giant had buried its head in the stone ground.
Its instinct made it choose to disguise itself as an ordinary stone as it hoped to avoid danger.
However, its trembling body betrayed it.
Mike gently placed the tip of the king's sword on the small stone giant and said softly, "I can help you this time, but I will only help you this time. In the future, you will have to rely on yourself.

"Since you have chosen this path, then be decisive, be ruthless, and kill!
"Otherwise, half-baked villains will only live a miserable life."
As Mike spoke, he raised the Sword of the King in his hand.
When he finished speaking, the Sword of the King had already been raised above his head.
He turned his head to look at Gerald and calmly said, "Watch carefully, villains do this."
The next moment, Mike heavily swung the Sword of the King in his hands.
Just as the Sword of the King was about to hit the little stone giant, a loud roar suddenly came.
"Stop!"
Mike immediately stopped the attack in his hand. At the same time, the soul stone also stopped emitting blue light, but no one noticed this.
Mike lowered his head and smiled in the blind spot where no one could see.
Behind him, the sound of horse hooves approached.
Gerald came to Mike's side, took a deep breath, and said, "Lord Fuck, we can't always rely on your help.
"This time, let me do it."
"Really? You really can do it?"
Mike smiled and looked at Gerald, his tone filled with ridicule.
He pointed at the trembling stone giant in front of him and said, "Look carefully, this is a young stone giant. To put it bluntly, it's still a child.
"Can you really do it?"
After he heard Mike's words, Gerald's shoulder trembled again.
It's just a child!
Gerald lowered his head to look at the trembling stone giant, and then looked back at the clansmen behind him.
Finally, he took a deep breath and firmly said, "I can do it!"
"Good!"
At this moment, Mike withdrew his king's sword, then turned around and returned to Timus' side.
When he came to Timus' side and looked back again, Gerald had already raised his front hooves high and stomped down heavily.

Bang!
The hooves mercilessly hit the small stone giant's head, and instantly crushed it to pieces.
At this moment, the entire Walibel Valley was frighteningly quiet.
In the next moment, all the centaurs took action.
The hooves stomped on the ground and rushed forward. One after another, the small stone giant's heads were crushed into pieces.
Timus shuddered at the sight.
Before he saw it with his own eyes, his idea of the operation was vague.
Was it not just an invasion?
Was it not just a plunder?
Was it not just killing?
Timus thought he could accept it.
But when he saw a young life disappear in front of him, he found it hard to accept. Timus closed his eyes, turned his face to the side, and asked in a low voice that only Mike and himself could hear, "Is it really necessary to do this?"
He did not understand.
His teacher had clearly taught him not to casually hurt lives, and even said to take good care of plant life.
But why would his teacher condone, or even encourage, the centaurs to kill the young stone giants this time.
Mike could see what Timus was thinking, but Mike did not tell him the answer directly.
He patted Timus on the shoulder and asked, "Timus, do you think there is a difference between high and low in life?"
Timus opened his eyes in confusion when he heard this question.
He thought for a moment and answered, "Of course there is no difference between high and low in life."
Timus felt that he must have answered correctly this time.
But Mike shook his head and said, "You're wrong. Different lives have different prices."
This time, Timus was even more confused.
But before Timus could ask, Mike continued speaking, "If your friend died, will you be sad?"
"Of course," Timus answered without thinking.
"What if it was someone you knew but didn't know very well? For example, the owner of a bar.
"Would you be sad if the owner of the bar died?"
"I think so," Timus replied with uncertainty in his voice.
Mike nodded and looked at the chaotic battlefield in front of him, "Life itself doesn't have any distinction between nobility and inferiority.
"However, we are humans. We have feelings.
"In our eyes, different lives have different values.
"In our hearts, different lives occupy different weights."
He paused, and gave Timus a buffer time.
Then, he carried on speaking. "Although the centaurs are divided, whether it is the main peace faction led by Phineas or the main war faction led by Gerald, they are our friends.
"If Gerald can't be ruthless this time, their path may not last long in the future.
"Imagine, a person has malice toward you, but he didn't kill you. What would you do?"
"I.. . may take revenge," Timus said after a moment of hesitation.
"That's it."
Mike looked up and sighed.
"If they're not ruthless enough, then the next death... will be theirs."

All in the hopes of an uncertain survival. _________ This fiction has NOT been abandoned. I made a haughty promise earlier to not worry because I'll continue this series, and with things lately, I've only proved myself a liar. Further promises dwindled, and I've lost trust. So many things have been going on recently that I've been booked. I will refrain from making any future guarantees or promises as my busy schedule will stay with me for a long long while. Time for me to actually spend on writing and revising won't appear until at the least November 19. I won't say expect that's when I'll restart, but you can expect expecting it to maybe happen. That's really shallow. But with everything going on, I've let my small reading base down. I apologize. I still stick by my statement though that I won't abandon this project. I plan to stick it to the end, no matter the delay. Most importantly, thank you everyone; readers who both like and dislike my work. I appreciate your time spent on my dumb imagination. Stay toasty my readers in this winter season. Cheers. UPDATE: We're back on track. Thank you for your patience. Any future readers, heyo! Glad you're here. UPDATE 2: So far it's been 21 days since I last uploaded a chapter. The best thing done for any fiction, no matter how good it is, is that it continues, and I have a bad history with that. 1 fiction on hiatus and already more delays with less than 20 chapters in this fiction. I've been very preoccupied with adding more things to do in my life rather than actually committing to any particular thing. That applies primarily to this. I cannot abandon this, as busy as my future looks and will look as I get busier and busier. Someday, I hope, I will be able to sit down and just write. just. write. But for now, I ask for patience. I suppose I'm glad this fiction hasn't picked up so that I don't disappoint too many people if any really. But I need to commit and it's going to happen sometime and sometime soon. No more flowery words. I'll see you later. UPDATE 3: It's very evident I won't be able to pick up this story for a while. With AP Testing, competitions, and other things I am busier than ever. But I must complete this fiction. I have too. Until next time. UPDATE 4: It is now the summer. I owe everyone an apology. Chances are, nobody's around to see this, and that is okay. I only blame myself for this sort of brokenness of a fiction, not that it is actually that bad but I am just exaggerating it for dramatic effect. But what's not exaggerated is the severity of my broken promise. I apologize for my naive claims about finishing a novel that I couldn't finish and that I didn't have the discipline to finish. Nor the skills, really, I was and am still an immature writer. What is to place now? I want to make it clear I understand this is my fault. I will man up to this. And I will accept any criticism. I understand I messed up. Reading Stephen King's On Writing made it clear to me that I need to do two things:Read lots. And write lots.I have done neither. If I don't have the time to read often, how do I expect to write? I need to become more experienced. I need to become a serious writer. So if I want to dream of continuing, I need to at least fulfill both requirements. I enjoy writing. I haven't written seriously outside of school in a while. I planned to write this summer and finish this. I made a lot of promises that I didn't keep.So there's that. I won't enact any self-pity, or be foolishly obsessed. What I did was wrong, and I must deal with it. I let down readers. And I apologize.I hope I can find forgiveness. This is a writer's sin.I won't promise I'll finish this. I intend to finish this, at some point, because writing is fun and I want to write. But how things are don't reflect that. Maybe I'll finish this at some point. Maybe I won't. I won't be naive to make that promise.I thank everyone who has read this if this is the end. If not, and hopefully not, I thank everyone who is to read future chapters. I thank everyone who allowed me to live in the miniscule little dream of mine as I passed my days. I thank everyone who cares enough to read this. Until next time, peace everyone. Thank you. You are all great readers and great people. I wish everyone the best in whatever reading/writing endeavors follow you henceforth.
