"PERVERT! Get your fucking hands off me!" Alex screamed in shock.

The first thing she saw after she regained her consciousness was a strange man with wild hair and moreover, he was carrying her in his arms so intimately!

"Put me down. Put me down. Put me down. Right now!" She started struggling, trying to jump down but the moment she moved her burnt, reddened and blistered skin hurt like hell.

"Calm down, will you? I am not doing anything to you." The man replied. "My name is Fang Yuan. I and my friend Geming here rescued you and your friend."

"We are currently taking you both to our base where we have some medical supplies. Don't be scared. We mean no harm. We are just trying to help." He patiently explained trying to smoothen out any misunderstandings. 

However, unexpectedly, the woman in his arms started getting more agitated. "What the heck? We are not in the hospital anymore? Where the hell are you taking me?"

"Ah! You got Mei Mei also! Damn it. If you don't leave us right now, I am telling you things will get very tricky." Alex was never a woman of words. So she started getting into action first.

Boom!

She tossed a fireball directly onto the man's face, aiming for his weak point, his eyes.

"Ahhh! You crazy lunatic woman!" Fang Yuan yelled and without any other option, he dropped her down as he moved back to retreat.

Geming as well followed his actions but she still carried Xu Meilin with him, as he saw no point in punishing an innocent young girl just because her friend became crazy.

Besides, the way Fang Yuan shrieked, he had no intentions of tasting the same attack.

Alex herself was in no better position. She gritted her teeth in pain as every inch of her body was hurting like hell. 

Her clothes and her skin had dissolved together forming some sort of paste that prickled her reddened burnt flesh.

But even so, she couldn't afford to focus on that right now. She needed to think about the two human beings in front of her. 

She was not sure if they had good intentions or bad intentions and from how things looked, they also seemed to be a bit farther away from the hospital.

"Damn it. Damn it. Damn it. Did we not just now deal with that bastard centipede? Did we really have to run into these jerks also? What bad luck!" She cursed under her breath, trying to keep her sanity.

"Listen. We don't need any help. We know how to help ourselves. Leave my friend here and please go away. We can just part ways right here and now. No need to take things further."

"Why are you being so stubborn? We are only trying to help you." Fang Yuan who just now finished making sure that he had actually not gone blind from her attack, sighed and replied.

"That's none of your business. Please save your help and pity for someone else. We don't need it." Alex cut him off once again.

Fang Yuan was about to criticize her once again, but the crew cut guy standing next to him interrupted and spoke before him.

"You seem to be repeatedly looking back to the hospital? Hmm?" His sharp eyes scanned Alex, observing every single one of her microexpressions. 

He was extremely impressed with the strength and stability she was displaying even though she was badly hurt at the moment.

"Do you perhaps have some friends who are still in the hospital?"

Alex's face instantly changed. 'Fuck! No matter what I cannot lead these two men back to our camp. What if they have an even bigger or stronger group?'

However, her brain froze as a certain dog's image floated across her mind. Could someone really be stronger than 'little white'?

The dog had single-handedly taken down an entire goblin army!

'Perhaps I should be leading these two fools back to the group.'

Alex's expression quickly changed and she winced in pain. "Please please please. Why can't you both just let us be?" She acted like she was desperately begging and she purposefully ignored the questions Geming had asked her.

"Oh! She is not answering you, dude! Listen listen. If you have friends back at the hospital, all the more reason why you should tell us. We have a big group with us. We can help you and your friends."

"You really don't have to be so cautious."

The more the guy tried to comfort her, the more uneasy Alex felt. No matter what she absolutely did not want to let these two guys get back to their camp. 

Sure, their camp could be full of people who wanted to help them but the two times they chose to trust others had both ended up bad. Could she really afford to give the other party the benefit of doubt?

Besides, there was also the fact that almost their whole group was poisoned and slowly dying. So how could she risk the lives of everyone at this crucial time?

She either had to lure them back to the hospital or she had to kill them right here and now before the two of them could go anywhere.

Alex again winced in pain. She was heavily injured and Xu Meilin was still unconscious. She doubted that she could take them both at the same time considering the condition that they were in.

So her only option right now was to lure these two back to the hospital with her! She needed to lure them right back to the spot where Lu Chen and little white were!

Alex did not hesitate any longer and quickly made up her mind.

"Why can't you guys just let us go? Please we have already had enough. Everyone says the same thing and then tries to take advantage of people like us." She started crying.

She didn't even have to act to cry. Every fucking thing was hurting like hell and the tears started dripping out of their own accord.

Both the guys immediately became awkward and quiet and exchanged glances with each other. Fang Yuan then hesitantly walked towards Alex and squatted next to her on the ground.

"Listen, I understand what you are talking about, but our group is not like that. Think about it. You both are severely hurt right now and both of us are still at our best." 

"We wouldn't even be having this conversation if we had bad intentions. We would have just forcefully taken you both back to our camp. Do you understand what I am trying to say?"

Alex looked extremely scared but she nodded slightly.

"The thing is we still need some supplies from the hospital. We only decided to return back early so that we can help you both with your injuries."

"If you have more friends back at the hospital, then it would be best to go back and take their help also to look for supplies like dressing, etc for your wounds and then return back to our camp together."

"That would be the best option for us and we can make sure that both you and your friends will be safe and healthy. You also look very experienced in fighting. We really need more people like you in our group anyways."

Alex patiently listened to every single word the man said and she slowly nodded. "Umm… Ummm" She bit her lips copying how Xu Meiling usually acted.

"Me and a bunch of my high school…" She paused and then added, "girl friends got stuck in the hospital yesterday. So many big monsters and these zombies started showing up and we got separated. Please help us."

Alex shyly looked up and batted her burnt eyelashes at the man in front of her. 

She had already done her best and now all she could do was only hope that the two guys in front of her would take her bait. 'Come on! I mentioned high school girls! Come on! Take the fucking bait!' She inwardly cursed the two guys.

After hearing words, Fang Yuan, however, did not respond immediately. He was looking at Alex as if he was deeply thinking about something and he was suspicious.

Alex started to get worried if he believed her story at all when the man suddenly opened his mouth and spoke. "You look too old to be a high school girl?"

Alex's lips twitched and her ruddy nostrils flared. Luckily, her face and everything was too injured so the other party did not notice the anger that was bubbling inside her.

"Ahh.. I am.. My sister is a high school student." She gritted her teeth and squeezed out an explanation.

"Oh! I see! You must be very worried then." Fang Yuan nodded as he understood her situation and Alex sighed in relief. Got him!

"Let's go back quickly and get them also. Don't worry, the both of us can keep you guys safe to some extent."

"Let's hurry. I don't want to spend too much time here. Hospitals attract too much attention these days."
