《Psycho X Psychic》Chapter 17 - Honestly

In the entire third period, Iesa kept glancing at Teren.
Once he noticed this glance, he would turn red and look at the curtain again.
'This is unexpectedly fun. Teren Hark, you have scared me witless and now you're shying away just because I called you cool once.'
Iesa had an evil and smirk.
While the teacher was not looking, Iesa sent a message, wanting to play him. She was hesitant at first, scared that she may piss off the murderer. However, the urge to get revenge for scaring her all this time got over Iesa.
So she typed and sent:
[Why did you leave me earlier?]
Teren felt the phone vibrate and secretly looked at his phone. Using one finger, he replied.
[I said that it's time for classes, right?]
Iesa glanced once again and saw that he resting his face on his hands, his arm on the desk, while peeking through his fingers. However, that didn't hide the redness of his ears.
[Then why are you not looking at me?]
[Why would I look at you? Is there a reason?]
[No, there is no reason.]
But before Teren could reply, Iesa continued;
[I'm just wondering why your face looks reddish.]
There was a pause before she received another reply.
[It does?}
[Yeah, right after I called you cool.]
[I don't think that's related.]
[Maybe, but I really think it's cool though.]
After sending this message, Iesa then noticed Teren looked at her with a frown before looking at his phone again.
[You're just teasing me...]
[No, I'm not.]
[Just yesterday, you're scared of me. I know the face of fear. You don't like murderers, how can you call the massacre cool>]
After reading this message, Iesa pondered to herself too.

'Am I really not scared of him anymore? No, I'm still scared of him... it's just...'
She remembered when Teren said that he would just bribe her instead. After that, he gave her his phone number which she could call anytime if she needs help.
'Maybe, I began to think that he is harmless as long as I don't provoke him... After all, Nick is the bully one and that I'm a witness who could put Teren in jail. So maybe... he's scared of me too?'
At that question, Iesa asked on her phone.
[Teren... do you want to kill or harm me?]
Teren saw the question and felt it was sudden before receiving a follow-up message.
[Honestly...]
Teren tried to be honest and think.
Iesa saw this and got a little scared.
'He's hesitating? No, if he said no immediately, that may seem like a lie. After all, he threatened me.'
She waited since Teren took his time thinking what to reply when-
"You two, quit using your phones! You think I don't notice since you're at the back?"
The fat female teacher on their third period then walked up to them.
At that moment, Iesa felt her phone vibrate. But she couldn't see it since she has to give her phone to the teacher.
"This is the first warning. I will give it to you later after my class. However, if I see you two use your phones in my class again, I will have to confiscate it and you can only get it after two weeks."
The teacher then placed the phones under the table and continued with the class.
Iesa looked at Teren again and saw him glare at the teacher. But when he noticed her, the glare disappeared into an embarrassed one before turning his head away towards the curtain again.

'He... he's not going to do anything to the teacher, right?' Iesa thought.
After a moment, their phones got taken, Iesa was able to pick up some thoughts again since her attention was not taken.
'Are they messaging each other?'
'No way, I saw them at the canteen two. Are they flirting again?'
'Seriously, are they together?'
Catherine: 'I can't believe this! This is hilarious! The famous Iesa Hun got a lame boyfriend!'
Mike: 'I thought Iesa is free. What a waste.'
Lina: 'This dog balls-licking bitch is really pissing me off. Can't she lick her own cunt? Why do you need my doggy for that? Fuck you and your pretty face! The doggy's master, me, is not going to standby and do nothing about this! I'm going to lift weights just so I can lift your fat ass and break your back as you kiss the ground with my throw.'
Iesa frowned at this.
'Excuse me, I am not fat! Also, who said Teren is lame? Tell me another person who defeated a whole gang?... if his story is true... I'm not defending this psychopath but I'm just saying the truth!'
After having a fight inside her head, before she knew it, the third period is already over.
Teren and Iesa got their phones back.
She gulped before she opened her notification and read Teren's message. Looking at it whole, she inwardly commented.
'It's not that long. It took him some time, I thought he's writing an essay.'
[I don't know. I just know that I don't like having enemies. I'm tired of it. So as long as you're not my enemy, even if you're not a friend, I wouldn't harm you. I may not have any remorse or guilt but I don't unnecessarily hurt anybody I meet. I hope you trust what I just said. I would never hurt Nick if he isn't bugging me all the time. I know I've done evil things so after this, you can forget about it and I will never harm or talk to you again since I've scared you a lot.]
Iesa read it and didn't know what to say. She couldn't reply as well even if she knows what to type since the fourth period began.
"Okay, class, sit. Who teachers did you meet before me?"
The teacher in their fourth period is Sir Jerad...
After some discussion with the class, Sir Jerad just found out something.
"What? Sir Hanon didn't tell you the reason? The games are important but I think he should've told you. The reason why you met your subject teachers on the third day instead of the second day is that Sir Hanon is actually a teacher from Pinha City.. You could say he was suddenly transferred so we had to make some adjustments on your schedule."

Vast Asleep
The story of Kingard the Binder in the aftermath of Broken This short story is the epilogue of Broken, the second book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. It’s a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers but is set apart from the full-length narrative. Vast Asleep follows the story of Kingard, who finds himself caught in a world called Mother's realm, bathed in glowing light but strangely stuck in place. He encounters his greatson Varyan there, and learns that his experiences are likely dreams. As he grows more accustomed to the loving realm around him, Kingard remembers fear and trepidation about the face of the world, and he loses contact with his companion. This story answers the question, Is Kingard really dead? with a tentative no, and new mysteries brewing. It also raises the question, What's happening while he's awake? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Ride Awake, about Kingard's situation with the Colkh'rak. Praise for Tales of the Known World Bookends: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between the epilogue and prologue is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well. -- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★
