Once the kiss ended between Loriel and Elise, she gave her fiance a loving smile and rested her head against his chest. It felt so warm and secure to be in Loriel's arms right now.
The tears that pricked Elise's eyes were held back and she didn't make a sound. Elise did her best to hold back the shaking that was inside of her chest.
Elise made the decision not to tell Loriel about what happened earlier that evening. How would the man react to hearing that not only did Elise have powers that weren't ordinary for humans?
Not only that, but Elise also accidentally killed someone with it?
"Are you hungry, wifey?" Loriel asked her in a doting tone. "I know that you're supposed to stay with Alex tonight and help with her mystery date, but you came earlier than I expected. Did you eat dinner while you were out?"
"A-ah, it's alright. I'm actually very exhausted to eat now." Elise told Loriel with a tired smile. "I think I would just like to rest and relax with you."
Loriel looked at her scrutinizingly, but then decided to listen to his wife's wishes. "Then we should do that. Would you like to stay in my bedroom and the two of us could watch a movie together and snuggle?"
Elise smiled lightly and nodded. "Yes, I like the sound of that."
"Okay, you can get changed and get comfortable." Loriel kissed her forehead.
Elise felt her face heat up and she nodded. "I will do that. Thank you, Loriel."
"I'll prepare some light snacks for us to eat while we watch. Hot chocolate and maybe popcorn and chips while we relax tonight. You can also tell me about how your day went, okay?"

"Okay."
***
The room was dark except for the television screen that was still playing in the background. When Elise and Loriel went to bed to sleep together, it was a bit difficult for her to fall asleep at first.
It wasn't easy to erase the dark and negative thoughts away from her mind at all.
Back in the days when her cousin Tessa and her family hid the location of her father's hospital, Elise found and used her powers by accident that time. Elise burned down the gazebo out of anger several months ago.
Today, Elise realized that she could also control the wind and not only fire.
There were so many unknown things about her origins which she chose to push away, but then she also met Alexei who said that he was just like her.
The man was able to burn the drunkard's body to ashes without a moment of hesitation. Alexei was radiating with so much power and authority back then, yet the man treated her like she was an equal of him.
It made Elise want to delve more into her past and remember everything about her.
Was that a good thing?
Elise knew that it was better to be careful of what you wished for. The lack of her memories could have been something like a blessing in disguise because she did not remember her real parents or origins at all.
What had happened to them? Were they like her and Alexei too?
Did Elise accidentally hurt them?
Those were the things that were on Elise's mind before she finally fell asleep and then started dreaming.
Elise dreamed of very vivid scenarios in her head that were filled with things and events that she couldn't quite place at all.She found herself at a place which was so ancient compared to the modern times that she was living in.

It was a grand palace that stretched out as far as one's eyes could see.
This was the place where she found herself living in, Elise found herself within this strange yet familiar environment. Around her were beautiful castle towers and a gorgeous view.
When Elise looked at a mirror, she found herself wearing strange clothes.
These clothes were long, silky robes that fit her so well. It made Elise think of royalty of long ages ago. There was a certain strength and power in her eyes that were very regal.
But this wasn't what made Elise realize it was some sort of dream.
Each time before she could focus and scrutinize more of her surroundings, the scenario changed before she could figure anything out.
Elise found herself in countless positions and various locations, each one of them significant of what they contained. In a similar fashion to what she did for Loriel, Elise was holding an antique teapot with her hands glowing with powers.
Hot steamy smoke erupted from the pot's mouth and Elise could almost smell the scent of tea in her nose.
In another sequence of her dreams, Elise found herself in another castle in a garden with an old woman except she couldn't see this older woman's face at all.
Elise was only following after them eagerly. Smoke and gorgeous water bubbles floated across the air, sunlight shining and scattering a rainbow of colors across the garden.
The very next moment, Elise was on horseback. The ground beneath her was shaking and the foundations of the earth were beginning to tear itself apart.
Sounds of curdling howls echoed loudly in her ears.
Ahead of her was the sight of a gigantic and towering mountain, there was something shining and sparkling in the distance. It appeared a glorious ray of white light, a temple like no other.
However, what stood in Elise's way were several monsters that she couldn't explain at all. There was a seven-headed dragon creature that breathed out numerous elements out of its breaths.
Right before it could hit Elise, her surroundings suddenly shifted and turned gray. Slowing down to a crawl, only her horse and Elise kept moving forwards as a fire greater than anything she could see erupted from her hands.
The air around her exploded in smoke and fire.
Elise bolted up from her bed and stopped herself from breathing heavily. She rubbed her face and made sure that Loriel didn't wake up. There was no need for him to get worried, those were just really vivid dreams.
Maybe her imagination was becoming too overactive?
Elise wanted to blame that guy Alexei for triggering such dreams from her subconscious. This was so unlike her… Elise tried to return back to sleep.

War of Seasons
Dorothea Atlin is the young, apathetic leader of the neutral territory of Sirpo, a chilly land hovering above the continuously warring factions of Sacer and Ghuria, whose devastating magics have ravaged their people and lands time and time again. Following a shocking attack and a cruel deception, Dorothea grows her conscience and takes up arms, using her self-destructive ability to manipulate the flow of time to ensure Sacer’s victory. Her growing understanding of war and the two factions is guided by Iree Nobelis, the determined and enthralling commander of Sacer’s forces, Ariana Kingfisher, a steely swordswoman of mixed Ghurian and Sacerian descent, and Rhys Tamlin, a kind but haunted soldier who goes to challenge Dorothea’s self-imposed celibacy and join her on a mutual journey of healing from the tragic legacies of the Atlin family and wars between the nations. Meanwhile, Dorothea’s only friend and deserter from the Sacerian military, Shark Olyen, returns to their homeland to face the family that disowned them and finds more than they bargained for in meeting Cerid Creed, a noble whose duty to his people clashes with his desires in romance and in life, much like Shark’s did long before. As their developing or preexisting loves and differing convictions on how to achieve peace create rifts between these major players, Dorothea experiences a personal revolution that leads her to fight for what she believes is right, no matter the cost. A slow-burn story that takes time setting up the psychology and motivations of characters for explosive payoff later down the line. Artemis
"Let them go, Dante." I whip my head to see a small boy standing the clearing with blonde hair and a green cloak hanging from shoulders. He isn't very tall however he holds his stance well. He doesn't seem to be more than Cassandra's age. Maybe 12 at most. I abruptly turn my head back hearing the man holding a sword to my throat chuckling with a sinister grin. "Oh, poor boy, what are you go to do about it?" The yellow teeth gleam as he begins stalking towards the boy who does not look the least bit fazed. I look around at the other men who are following the leader. I pull Cassandra tighter to my back as I take small steps back. I keep my eye trained on the men but also fear for the naive boy. "Do you really want to test me Dante?" He asks raising a single eyebrow. For a minute the men stop their movements. I see their hesitation for fear... Fear of what? I take the moment to stick Cassandra behind a nearby tree. She crouches down while I pull my sword out from its place. "How do you know my name?" The scoundrel raises his sword challenging towards the boy before taking a final step towards him. Then the unexpected happens. The young boy chuckles so darkly. It sounded almost... demonic. All the men instinctively raise their swords. "Oh Dante, I didn't know your name... but you know someone dear to me." "Spit it out boy!" The once grinning man is now looking around frantically. I continue my eyes scanning the small boy. He looks directly me and gives me a small nod before saying one word that caused all hell to breaks loose. "Artemis." Artemis is not an ordinary girl. She grew up in the wilderness after being shunned due to unique abilities and her different physical attributes. Blessed with an ability that scared others, she roams the wild with only her guarded one. That is until she stumbles into a situation that brings her in front of a prince.
