Nick broke into a cold sweat when he heard where he needed to go to find a stygian bear. the twilight mountain range was a veritable treasure trove of rare resources making the area extremely popular , or rather would if it wasn't for the fact that the area also housed the most demon beast on the continent as well as most powerful ones as well. as a result anyone who entered the forest in hopes of striking it rich or coming across an inheritance all ran an extreme risk of death and this even applied to powerhouses like the elders at the academies. needless to say nick realized that in order to complete his test even if he didn't have to worry about his target he would need to risk everything to succeed. "what area was the closest to the outskirts and how long ago was it spotted?" nick asked seriously. this time it was the clan leader who spoke up "this is a map of the area." he said while unfurling a map in mid air before pointing at a spot on it. "and this was where the closest sighting to the outskirts was however that was roughly a week ago so the creature may have moved on." he said seriously.

Nick took in this information and nodded "I'll start there , though due to the way in which i arrived at your clan I'll need someone to take me there as well as a way to return once my objective is complete." nick said calmly. the clan leader nodded since it made sense to provide these things. "i can take you there as for getting back I'll give you a talisman that will open a one time use portal back to the clan." he said before handing said talisman to nick which he stored away immediately. nick looked at jakob "well than i trust you to take care of the little guy until i return." he said to which jakob nodded "i promise on my life." jakob said seriously. the clan leader approached nick wordlessly before grabbing his shoulder firmly before nick felt space warp and he heard a loud pop after which he found himself at the edge of a forest with the clan leader. "the rest is up to you." the clan leader said before vanishing again.

Left alone nick took a deep breath before walking into the forest with his guard up. the forest looked normal at first glance however there was a huge amount of qi in the air as well as the fact that there was a complete lack of the ambient sounds that would accompany a normal forest. nick quickly leapt to the side as a vivid green snake shot from the bush in front of nick. having missed its target the snake landed on the ground behind where nick was standing before rapidly coiling to prepare for a counter attack. nick rolled on his shoulder before spinning around to face the snake all in one fluid motion. now that nick could study the snake he immediately had the system appraise it , the result were as follows.
