Nick focused on the technique for the next hour until the voice interrupted him "your time is up use the technique to the best of your abilities." the voice said before once again growing silent. nick closed his eyes and moved his energy in the way the technique specified while imagining a man half his size with a fat gut and no hair. from a third person view nicks body began to ripple like the surface of water before it began to shrink and the hair receded while the stomach area bulged. after about five minutes the rippling stopped and nick opened his eyes before looking at himself. nick was surprised at the changes or more specifically how comfortable they felt almost like this was his natural form to begin with. "well done you have reached the intermediate level in the technique thus passing the third test." the voice said with what sounded like happiness but nick wasn't sure due to the nature of the voice. "out of curiosity how many test are there?" nick asked since he felt like getting back to the welk clan as quickly as possible.

"There are a total of four test set up by my creator the final of which is in fact a combination of all the other three." the voice answered which surprised nick. "what is the last test then?" he asked curious. the voice remained silent for a moment before answering "i am unable to explain the last test as it would affect the results if i did , are you ready for it?" the voice asked. nick sighed "i suppose I'm as ready as i can be." he said honestly. "very well , good luck" the voice said before nick felt space warp and with a pop he vanished. when he reappeared nick noticed he was in an alleyway in some sort of city. before he could move however the voice spoke up "your qi has been sealed and your image and aura has been circulated throughout the kingdom you are in , in order to pass this test you must reach the capital without being caught by those who pursue you." the voice said causing nick to curse angrily. 'no wonder it refused to tell me ,this is a test around adaptation' nick thought while checking to see if he can still use the technique he got from the last test.

Nick sighed in relief when he felt the technique working but he also noticed something curious , his body refinement was completely untouched but after thinking about it for a moment nick understood why. simply put the creator of this inheritance likely had no idea that something like body refinement existed and as such didn't add anything about sealing it for this test. if nicks thoughts about this test were correct then this trip to the capital was no more than a joke to him , however he decided to test this theory. nick changed back to his regular form and walked out of the alleyway and into the main road where he all but confirmed his theory when he saw that there were no cultivators anywhere but he didn't let down his guard as he knew that in rural areas cultivators were non existent almost.
