The boy looked nervous as he step forward and stopped in front of the clear orb and looked at nick trying to figure out what to do now. "place your hand on top of the orb and wait for the colors in it to settle." nick said seriously. the boy reached out his hand tentatively before putting it on the top of the orb with a flinch before visibly relaxing once he found that there is nothing wrong with it. soon the clear orb began to get clouded with different colors spinning like a cyclone originating from the boys palm. the cyclone soon slowed before separating into different layers each with a different color. nick watched the orb the entire time before speaking "from the way the colors settled we can see what elements you are most attuned to and by extension what profession you are most apt for if any." he said while point at the top two colors "for example the two colors red and yellow as we see here means that you are most attune to the fire and earth elements of which both are needed in order to have any hope of a career as an alchemist." he explain calmly.
The boy looked thrilled after learning that he had the aptitude to be an alchemist so he didn't mind when nick had him set to the other side of the room before having another child walk up to the orb. much like previously the child placed their hands onto the orb one after the other before nick explained what elements they were most attuned to as well as what profession they could be used for if any. some of the children were happy with their talents while other were not as either they weren't talented in what they found interesting or simply weren't talented in any career to which nick could only shrug at their bad luck. towards the end of the group of children something unusual happened when a little girl of about six placed her hand on the orb as the colors that appeared all shone brightly while the orb started humming loudly before the girl retreated in terror from the strange phenomena she had created. nick stood there stunned since he had only heard of such a thing occurring once before and of course he would be quite clear about what is represented since he himself was the one who had cause the phenomena before.

Nick observed the the girl more closely noting down her light silver hair and vibrant green eyes like jewels. "what is you're name little one?" nick asked curiously. the little girl thought she was in trouble so she hid behind joseph timidly. nick figured out that to a young child his actions could be construed as an a.d.u.l.t looking to punish. "you are not in trouble little one i merely wish to know if you had come across any odd objects that felt funny when you grabbed them or perhaps even vanished when you did so." he said while purposefully making his voice gentler.

Restaurant Core
A dungeon core that wants to feed others instead of itself. Can this dungeon overcome its challenging start in a goblin cave? Will it achieve its dream of being the ultimate restaurant or will it be forced to concede to its own nature as a dungeon core? Follow Regis the dungeon and his loyal hobgoblin servant Strum in this dungeon's quest to become the one and only Restaurant Core. I started this to give me a more humorous character-centric narrative to explore. I also wanted to poke fun at the typical dungeon core story by turning it on its head. Who knows, maybe you'll learn a recipe or two from it. Hope you enjoy!Updates at least once a week. Special thanks to Asviloka for so much help in the art direction of the cover. Much love to her. And some thanks to carebear90 for their invaluable input during the process. Asviloka's profile: https://www.royalroad.com/profile/108594

A young woman gets thrown into this grimdark world from our own. Will she survive the curveball that gets thrown in her face as she changes into something else? Map created by Maximeplasse This fiction is based on my play-per-post RP that I've run before but with my own take on summoned characters and dungeon settings. At certain points I'll also allow reader decisions if the story gets popular enough. xD It's unrelated to the D&D Theron setting; Telduria I just liked the name and the map when I started up the RP back in the day.
