《Modern Weapon Summoning System》Chapter 67 - Getting Out Of The Serpent

"Wait, so we have been eaten by that gigantic snake???" Cassandra asked. Cold sweat immediately flowed from her body. It was like facing the impending doom for her.
Del calmed himself down. He knew he couldn't panic since being panic wouldn't get him out of the stomach of the serpent. However, he didn't have any idea how to get out of here.
Del got out of the car and went to the backseat of the car. He grabbed his RPG-7 and its ammunition. He put the ammunition into his RPG and he fired it into the darkness.
He pulled the trigger. The warhead flew very far until it hit the abdominal wall of the serpent. Once it hit the abdominal wall of the serpent, the serpent suddenly moved, throwing Del around its innards.
If not for the helmet that Del wore, he could have a head injury, "You two, are you alright?"
"NO!" Cassandra shouted.
A liquid dripped right into Del's face. Once the liquid touched his skin, it immediately burned it. The serpent had started ingesting them all. He also noticed that a yellowish puddle appeared in some area of the serpent.
"Ah, fuck me!" Del said as he stood up and picked up his RPG.
He really rethought his decision at that moment. Did he really waste his time by going to a region well-known for its dangerous monsters just for the sake of rescuing someone that had thrown him out of the hero's party?
He knew the person could be Anna, but if it weren't Anna, Del really regretted coming into that area. After being injured by SSU and now being digested by a gigantic snake, he really wondered what made him want to go there.
He returned to the car that had been flipped upside down and noticed that there was a hissing noise coming from the darkness. Del grabbed the night vision goggles from the car and he wore the straps and replaced the helmet with the night vision goggles.
He immediately noticed snakes, a bunch of them. They were coming in their direction, what would they do? Del had an idea and they must be killed immediately. Del climbed to the top of the machine gun and started firing the heavy machine gun at those snakes that started crawling in their direction.

While firing his machine gun in one hand, he also threw fireballs at the approaching snakes. Those snakes weren't small by any means, no, they were as big as an adult hand and very long. Blood was splattering from the carcasses of the dead snakes.
"What are you firing at?" Cassandra was confused.
"LOOK IN THE DIRECTION WHERE I AM SHOOTING!" Del shouted.
Cassandra threw a bulb of light in the direction where Del was shooting from. There were indeed a lot of snakes charging in their direction. "What the… [Group Strike Mode: Icicle Barrage]." A bunch of ice spikes formed around Cassandra and the ice spikes flew toward the snakes.
"COLE! REPLACE ME!" Del shouted.
Del got out of the machine gun turret and Del grabbed all the satchels charges he had prepared on the back of the car. All of it should be enough to blow the snake open. However, he must be careful or the acid of the innards might prematurely blow the C4 off.
However, before that, he reloaded another round of tandem warheads and fired it toward the snakes. The serpent created another thundering shriek, and it even shook him more violently. The shook threw Del from the ground. He landed with his head first and his RPG slamming his stomach.
"Ah, bloody hell," Del stood up from the ground and he ran back to the car to pick up the satchel charges he was supposed to be picking up if he wasn't thrown away from the car.
He picked up four bags of satchel charge that weighed around ten kilograms each. It might be heavy, but not that different from carrying his own M240 and 800 rounds of ammunition. Del threw ran towards the mouth of the serpent because there was no way the car could drive through the slippery part of the serpent without making the serpent shook its own body.
"Del! Where these bloody snakes are coming from?" Cole asked as he kept shooting the heavy machine gun turret.
"Just keep shooting!" Del shouted.
With the help of his night vision goggles, Del arrived at the end of the tunnel. Del threw four satchel charges at once to the tongue of the serpent and he ran as fast as he could. He didn't want the blast from the C4 to kill him. He knew that there was no way he could survive a blast from forty kilograms of C4.

Del ran far enough, but as he came closer to the car, he noticed that the hissing sound became louder and louder. After gaining more distance towards the car, he noticed Cassandra could barely keep the snakes away from the car and Cole's machine gun was having a problem.
Del pressed the detonator of the C4 and an enormous boom could be heard from the other direction. A shock wave came in his direction alongside mist and droplets of blood that came out from the blown-off head of the serpent. One of the larger blobs of blood landed right on Del's face. It was sticky.
"Damn," Del wiped his eyes from the blood that splattered his entire body.
"They're down! Those snakes are down! And Cole, did you bleed out or something?" Cassandra asked as she wiped off the blood from her face.
"No, I don't, this is not my blood, Del, are you ok?" Cole asked.
"No, this is the blood from the serpent, the serpent is dead now," Del said.
"The serpent is dead???" Cassandra really doubted that statement.
"Yeah, the serpent is dead," Del said.
There was a light coming from the place where Del placed the C4. Del got inside the car. Cassandra entered the car as well. Del drove out of the serpent through the opening that Del created with his C4.
Del drove through the hole that he created. He then saw the dead body of the serpent. It was, in fact, a large white snake. The head of the serpent was barely recognizable, most likely because of the amount of explosive that Del used. Del stopped his car in front of the head of the serpent. He got out of the car to observe the dead body of that serpent.
"Holy fuck, where the fuck this snake came from?" Del asked himself as he observed the dead carcass of the serpent.
It turned out that the serpent came out of a large cave and it immediately swallowed the car once it crossed the front part of the cave. Well, it was not surprising. It also meant that the threat of the serpent was no more.
"Dude, do you realize that you just kill a mystical creature?" Cole commented.
"Well, it means that we will have a much easier time," Del commented.
Cassandra's reaction wasn't that different from Cole. She knew she was a good mage, but she didn't realize that Del could kill a creature that was mythical. Then again, she also knew that Wolfie was a mythical creature as well.
"Holy… Del, I really hope we don't cross paths in the future," Cassandra said.
"Yeah, I hope so," Del entered the car again.
He drove away from the dead body of that serpent. He grabbed a clean towel from the back of the car and wiped his face. He wiped off the blood and put it away on the dashboard of the car. The blood wasn't stinky, but it was just inconvenient to have it on his face.
"Del! Look!" Cassandra pointed her hand at the lizard men that were blocking the way.
All of those lizard men were holding a spear, and they were blocking the road. There was no way to get past them without shooting them or running them off. Del was confused about whether to engage those lizard men or just get past them.
However, the lizard men soon gave their answer as they threw a spear toward Del's car. "Cole! Engage them all!" Del shouted and Cole got on top of the turret and shot all the lizard men that were blocking the road.
Del drove through the dead bodies of the lizard men. After that fiasco, he drove as fast as he could to get through the cliff. It was enough for him. He never ever wanted to get through that cliff ever again. The serpent was scary, especially since he had experienced being eaten by it.
Maybe, on the way back, he might choose a way better route than going through that cliff region. Still, he needed to focus now. He needed to prepare himself for a search operation and possibly, a hostile opposition that wanted him to be dead.
