《Shadow Pack Stories [Completed]》Chapter 2: The Island

Anika Regio's POV
I sighed as I was leaning against the door of the car. I had done it. I have gone through another runaway and it was exhausting. I hope Pierre would approve of my break so that I can get out of this busy city and maybe went to some island or something. Then, my phone rang. I looked at the number and it was Sasha. I took a deep breath and I hope it was what I was hoping for.
"Hello?" I answered her before she was clearing her throat.
"Anika, did you hear me? You can go on your break," Sasha said before I was closing my eyes and leaning against the car seat.
"I'm here. I'm here. I was just too stunned to talk. I cannot believe Pierre let me have my break. Do you think he was getting soft?" I asked Sasha snorted.
"I wish. I think he was just getting tired of me complaining to him about the cons that will come if you don't have your break. Don't you think I made a good negotiator?" Sasha chided before I laughed at her.
"Yeah, you be an excellent one, I bet,"
"I know. So where do you want to go? Pierre suggests Bora Bora but it was too far. Maybe we should stick to Europe. So that I don't have to worry about you that much." Sasha said as I was thinking about the place that I have been looking forward to going.
"You know, my father's heritage was from an island," I said as Sasha was listening to me.
"Tell me more. You never told me about your family," she said as I was looking at the road. How can I talk about them when I lost them too early?
"Well, my relatives said that my mum was Italian but my father was from a faraway island,"
"I thought you said he was from Europe?" Sasha asked me as I was rolling my eyes at her question.

"Well, duh. He was. He was from an island called Cyprus," I said as Sasha squirmed.
"Really? I heard that Pierre was there as well," Sasha and if I don't know any better, she loved to include Pierre in every sentence that we have right now.
"If I don't know you better, I think you like Pierre even when he was overbearing and too much to handle," I said before Sasha snorted at the other end.
"If you know him as I do, I would not disagree with you right there. He is overbearing sometimes," Sasha said as I was shaking my head. I hope my agent will get over this crush that she had on our boss.
"Okay, so I will have to arrange for the flight there? How long you wanted to stay?" She asked as I was thinking.
"Hmm, maybe 2 weeks. I think I wanted to explore the city of Paphos, my father's ancestral house was still there I think. I wanted to see if they still have it," I said as I was looking at the ring that I wore on my middle finger of my right hand. I remembered that my relative said that my father wanted me to have it for the house on the island.
I wondered how a ring can help me to get to that house?
"Okay, so when do you want to leave?"
"At the latest if possible," I said as I was looking ahead before I was smiling. I cannot wait for this adventure to begin.
"Do you want a tour guide? It seems that they have a special offer since there will be the Folk Festival that was coming soon on the island. I heard that it was a huge deal over there," Sasha said as I was thinking.
"Hmm, that sounds fine. Who do you have recommended?" I asked as I wanted to have a tour guide so that I would not be stuck there not knowing where to go.

"Let see. As for now, all they have was this dude named Damien Laskaris. Do you want him? They have a good review of his service." Sasha said as I heard some typing on the keyboard right now.
"Well, if you trust him, I don't see why not?" I said before I was starting the engine.
"Okay, you all set. I see you in two days since that was the cheapest that I can find from my search. You might need to get some stuff to pack," she said as I was shifting the gear into D and drove off.
"Okay, I see you later. I need to hang up now cause I'm driving."
"Drive safe," Sasha said before she hung up and I was driving through the busy streets of Milan. You see, I love my freedom so much that I don't usually depend on anyone and I think I would never be dependent again.
I learned from early on that I was the only one that can make a difference in my life.
I sighed as I was looking at the night view of Milan. The shops were closed but I see the glitter and glam of the place long enough.
Now, I thirst for some real adventure not within this world anymore.
I wished that my adventure to my father's ancestral home would help me to discover my heritage and I think I might forget about these lights, cameras, and action for once in my life.
For once, I can be free.
Damien Laskaris' POV
"And that's how the legend of the Werewolves from Ancient Greece come to this island, or so we believed it," I said as I was telling the tourists the legend of the Cyprus island and werewolves that the locals believed. Everyone loves these stories because they believed it was not the truth.
If they only knew the truth.
"And that's the conclusion for tonight. Thank you for joining me in the storytelling. I see you guys in the morning," I said before some of the children were groaning. I laughed as I know they wanted more stories.
"Can we please listen to one more story. Please, Brother Damien?" One of the children was pleading before all of them were looking at me and pleaded.
"Please?"
I laughed before I picked one small child to sit on my lap. I was smiling at them before they were scooting over to me again.
"There's more to the story as well. Not all werewolves were killed by Alexander the Great. They went into hiding and they have been hiding with the humans. People believed that the werewolves would howl at the full moon, waiting for their mates to reply. But for some, they would look into each other's eyes and they will know that their mates have come into their lives," I said before the oldest asked me.
"So, it was like love at first sight then?" She asked before I laughed as I smiled at the child. They were too gullible to believe in love.
"They might but it was the Moon Goddess' will that made them find their mates or they might die because they did not find the other half of their souls," I said as I was looking at every child there.
"That sounds romantic. I wish I would meet my werewolf as his mate as well," the young girl said as she was dreaming about it. I smiled before I put the child on my lap down. "Okay, you got your story. Now, off to bed. We have a lot of activity tomorrow," I said before they went to bed.
