《A New World, an immersive game experience》Chapter 175: A miracle encounter

While Miracle Corporations people rushed to get Eldrian to their facility. The game also continued, with everyone in critical condition. But first; sometime before the fight at the river, just as Eldrian succeeded to cast lighting.
What was that?Itireae wondered as she felt an assault on her psyche. Causing all her previous thoughts to disappear into the winds. She had been wondering at the barren lands, wondering what caused the destruction of nature to such a degree that not even grass would grow back.
Now her throughs were only on this assault, this cry for help. She could accurately tell from where this came. Yet it made no sense. It was like a spiritual bond of her kin, one who had just used their life to accomplish something.
She knew of no kin in this area. This increased her curiosity, leading her to change course to find out what was going on.
'Mneme, change of plans. Follow that river!' Itireae telepathically commanded her mount; Her mount was a Roc, a massive flying bird. Similar looking to an eagle, it was actually a far descendant of a phoenix.
It had some of the phoenix's abilities, the most impressive being the ability to revive if their body was burnt to ashes. Unlike a phoenix, it would take a Roc years to revive. A phoenix would only need a few days, a week at most. This was still extremely impressive since this could even be used to combat the flow of time. Allowing some Rocs to grow as old as phoenixes and dragons.
Itireae was dressed in adventure wear of the High Elves. The main colors of her clothing were light brown and dark green, weaved beautifully together in the spiraling patterns of her silk and wood. A touch of arctic blue added here and there, giving the patterns a sharp glow.
Wooden did not mean that it was weak by any means, it was far stronger than even Mythril. Having been made from an ancient tree in the empire. All in all, her clothes fit well on her. Emphasizing her curves just enough while also complementing her light brown hair. The sharp blue color also matched well with her bright lilac-colored eyes.
The Roc obeyed her command immediately. It was just below the lever where it could communicate through a language. This did not mean that the Roc was ignorant or stupid. Its intelligence was only slightly too low for a full language to develop, along with a way to commune through it with other races. Like most animals, it would communicate through gestures, and like dogs, could understand commands. Rocs were known to even understand speech, only unable to answer back through words.

They flew fast through the sky, and with Itireae's command, the Roc used all its strength to reach the place in the least amount of time. Nonetheless, they arrived almost an hour after the fight had ended. Upon their arrival, the scavenging beasts following the smell of blood scattered. They had only been waiting for the last one awake to die, the burning sword keeping them from taking the spoils.
What a mess.Itireae did not wish to jump from her mount. The ground was stained with blood and everyone looked dead. She did not want to dirty her shoes, at least not without a good reason.
"He-lp..." A voice softly cried out, so soft that any normal person would not hear it. To Itireae, it was as clear as day. Turning her sights she saw a bloodied woman with half her face ruined, holding tightly her glowing sword in one hand and a friend in her other. Bloody tears were streaming down from her remaining eye as she looked up at Itireae with despair.
I am here to observe. Not interfere.Itireae thought to herself, about to set off. At the last moment, her eye caught the sight of bloodied silver hair and pointed ears. An elf? Is this the kin who shouted for help? She wondered and her curiosity caused her to stay a while longer, casting a spell to keep the stench of the dead from reaching her.
It was clear to see that the elf was dead, long dead. Even so, Itireae was curious enough about what had happened.
She could clearly see the woman was in no state to answer, so she cast a healing spell on her. It was just enough to recover her strength and heal most of her wounds. It was not enough to recover her lost eye and ear, nor any other deep wounds. It would only keep her from dying, which Itireae thought was enough.
Feeling the pain leaving her Vivian did not rejoice. Rather she started crying even harder. Again she had lost friends. Again, she felt this terrible pain.
What is wrong with her?Itireae wondered as she observed the woman not using her strength to move, but to greave instead.
"Ca-can... Can you save them?" Vivian pleaded after a few seconds. Looking first at Sabrea in her arms, then towards Terlas, and lastly to Eldrian. Her gaze stopping on Eldrian as she felt Sabrea's cold body in her arms, reminded her that Sabrea had died a long time ago.
Itireae did not understand the language spoken by the human woman, but she could easily guess her plead. Turning to those surrounding her she found that the only other still breathing was the man who had lost his left arm.

Casting a spell on him, she stopped his bleeding and gave him enough energy to not die. She did not do more, it was not her worry if he would surrender to the afterlife or fight for his life.
"Can you save her!?" Vivian shouted as she saw Itireae not moving after that one cast. She felt her throat constricting as she saw the elf shake her head no.
"Why? Why? She died only half an hour ago! Why?" Vivian shouted in despair as she let loose her cries into the sky.
Itireae flinched from hearing the cries of pain. She was not accustomed to them. Turning her attention towards the male elf with a completely mangled body, she tuned out Vivian's cries.
How did you end up like that? She wondered, curious why an elf would walk with humans. It was unheard of. What was the point, humans would die in a flicker of a flame. Why spend time with someone you are bound to lose?
She could not understand this.
Vivian turned her head towards Eldrian's body. She felt that he really had died, and this terrified her. It shook the despair of losing her new friend and replaced it with an even deeper despair she did not understand. Something told her she had to get Itireae to save him.
"Save him! Please, you must... Save him!" She shouted, struggled to her feet and moving towards Eldrian. Letting Sabrea and her sword slip from her hands as she moved.
"It is no use child. He has died more than an hour ago. His soul is long gone." Itireae shook her head as she thought of the life wasted.
"No! He is not dead. You must save him! I am sure you can!" Vivian shouted in despair. None of the elf's words had made sense to her. Yet the meaning had been clear. It had been a flat denial.
"I only know Tier 7 resurrections. It is not enough for one who has passed so long ago." Itireae meant her words. She would not mind spending the insane amount of mana and effort required for the spell; if it could save the elf. She would not do it for a human, especially when she might as well try it on the elf.
"I will try..."Itireae gave in as she looked at the agony in Vivian's face. She did not understand why a human would care so much for an elf, but seeing this prompted her to at least try. Other than her mana and some time, she would lose nothing.
Casting the spell took Itireae close to two minutes, it certainly was not an easy spell to cast and she was by no means a master of healing. Most of her time had been focused on improving herself for combat. Mastering different weapons, different spells, different skills; learning tactics, politics, and strategy.
A swirl of light green light flowed from Itireae's hands as she controlled the spell. Within seconds beads of sweat started flowing down her head as she focused on healing the elf's body.
It took her far more effort than she expected. The damage the elf had received was beyond ridiculous. Even his normal cells had deteriorated. Itireae did not know this, but she could feel that the elf's flesh and skin all needed to be repaired too.
She was glad that she had not been cheap by casting a Tier 6 resurrection. Realizing now that she would never have been able to heal the body with that level of the spell.
To resurrect someone, one first needed to heal the body. Due to them already being dead, you did not need to be careful with the energy used to heal the body. Since there was no energy inside the body which might clash with the healer's energy.
Naturally, using the magic to first repair the body took a great deal of mana. Itireae quickly felt that she needed to pump more and more of her mana into her spell to keep it active. A human would certainly not have managed to heal Eldrian with only a Tier 7 spell. This astonished Itireae as she realized the true scale of damage the elf had undergone.
This should be enough! Itireae thought as she grew tired, quickly moving on to call the soul of the deceased back. To her astonishment, this was far easier than she had thought it would be, the soul having seemingly waited for her to call it.
It was weak, seemingly exhausted, and damaged. Yet as soon as the body was healed the soul energetically followed Itireae's guidance to enter its body.
As soon as it did, the elf started breathing. Shallowly, but more than enough to confirm that the resurrection was successful.
...
As Eldrian was being rushed into the helicopter, the crushing headache he was experiencing lifted slightly. Causing him to barely wake as they lifted off.
