Few days later...

What woke up this time wasn't telephone or storm. It was strange noises straight in front of her house. She dazedly walked towards the window and had an instant wake up.

When she came out a bunch of people greeted her with big smiles. "Good morning. Sorry, we woke you up. Mike told us to finish this month. I hope we will be able to do that in time."

Jenny chuckled and just nodded. "Don't worry about it. I had to stand up anyway. Than you all for your hard work."

"No problem. It's our job anyway. Do you have any and here?" He looked at huge space. By the plans, the enclosed space could even hold tall trees.

"I have few ideas, but that will be done with time. What kind of glass will you use?" This is important for her.

"We will use mirror safety windows. They won't be penetrable even with heavy guns." He proudly showed her piece of glass.

Jenny had no idea what the difference is between normal safety glass and this one so she just let him explain. Inwardly she sighed. No matter how much he explained she didn't understand a bit, but still smiled at his explanations and asked couple questions making him get even more fired up to explain.

This time she chose willingly to go with him. He could see her rushing in to prepare and almost laughed. He patted Lewis's shoulder. "Good job, pal." Leaving after that as the flabbergasted man scratched his head in confusion.

On the other hand, Jenny was partially happy. After they close the roof she can do whatever she wants. But for a full month, she has to endure the people, how bothersome.

She realized that it didn't matter what she wore as the body shield protected her from heat and cold. This time she chooses simple jeans, sneakers, a simple gray shirt and jacket.

When they saw her walking out like that everyone looked at each other. Mike had to sigh. He took a big heavy jacket and put it on her body. He whispered to her with a low voice. "I know you have powers but maybe its better IG not everyone knows that."

She understood her blunder and smiled at him sheepishly. " Sorry. "

Mina shook her head. Lately, Jenny smiled more often. Was the world disaster the reason for her change or... She gave a long look at Mike and sighed. For Jenny's happiness, she was willing to concede. but seeing how she started at mike she knew that her thoughts were too much. Jenny would never like someone that one of her friends liked first. And Mike is really not her style.

Jenny rushed to her garage and finally took out the care she wanted to drive. Why? Because this time they choose to drive in surrounding villages and will check out other things. mina chooses to drive with her while Mike and one of his friends choose to drive a huge army jeep.

Only five cars this time left the city as the rest of the people this time started building up the wall inside the restriction wall. They just wanted to make sure that in case the power wall fails they had some protection. By this time thousands of people already lived in town. But as the town was practically empty some of them claimed their own spaces.

Now the center of town was around Jenny's building. Mike made her building at the first main building but now he changed it back to the next building as it had many PCs and offices that now people use to communicate with other survivors. Around that part of the city was made a high wall. After that, there was another wall in a circle of few quarts and the third wall was the one they are making right now. In the last wall will be door openings every 20 meters. They found a few clever people that will make body scanners and the door would open if the scanner recognizes humans.

The shield protected them from fall storms and zombies so it is not inconvenient. Strong winds, deep temperatures, they felt none of it. Actually, they literally had such a nice climate inside that they could walk without jackets around. Some even had shirts on as they sweated a lot while working hard.

The cars would go often out of the town but most of the newcomers that tried to exit the town realized that not anyone could do that and not be attacked by the zombies. Only cars with Mike inside were protected so whenever Mike paced his things to go out of the town some people would join in.

At first, everyone went to gather food from malls, stores, storages, restaurants and they found enough food to feed everyone inside communal restaurants where everyone would get two meals a day...

But still, some people harvested some of the stuff for themselves. Now Mike would take five of his own cars and whoever wants to join can with his own vehicle. But if they have not enough gasoline Mike would let them choose to come with him and leave the vehicle or stay with the harvested stuff. He would not try anymore to help to harvest.

Some people held grudges but thought that in case of his death even worse things might happen so they let him on peace.

Mike's car was as usual first and right behind him was Jenny's car. Even tho everyone knew in those first five cars who actually real protector is, they felt its better. Just in case some people got strange ideas its better if they do not know who real protector is.

Mina happily chatted with Mike while jenny had a small smile on her face as she listened to their chattering.

''Mike, Mike, Granpa plans to ask you to give him one of the tops of buildings so he can plant some vegetables inside. Could you help us out?'' She sweetly talks to him and heard his low chuckle.

''Sure. The building from the other side that is still not done is perfect for that project. Few of my people had the same idea. After Jenny's place is covered, we could cover the top of the top floor and your family can do whatever you want inside. I let everyone even choose free space at the sidewalks and I have to say the city became prettier since then. No trash on streets planted stuff everywhere. I think next spring and summer we will have enough food for everyone.''

there was silence for a while and then Mike's voice could be heard. ''I know. We have so many things to eat. But some of it might turn bad if we let it like that. Hmm. Maybe we could use some of the outer cities for planting grains, flax, cotton and similar. There is enough space there. We need to clear some earth and the planting...'' He sighed.

''Stop thinking too much. We have enough clothes for at least fifty years. No joke. If we vacuum seal them we do not need to think about that. Grains we can replant and those that stood too long we can feed animals. If we start a new kind of world we have to go back to basics. With enough food, we can even trade with other cities. I will try later on and see is it possible to seal our city completely in case of an attack. If it is, this place can literally become safe heaven.'' Her idea was right, but is it even possible?

Mike knew somehow her thoughts so he spoke relaxed to calm her down. ''Even if there was no protection shield and we build the walls on time not many can harm us and not destroy the real reason. Some will try to attack us for the food. Some for greed. Please be careful and do not walk around when we finish your home.''

Mina suddenly laughed. ''Mikeeee. If you say such a thing she might not even come out even if you ask her. She loves to be alone in her home. I am happy to see her so active. And she started smiling. When she smiles she is sooooo cuteeee.''

Actually, their whole conversation was heard in the other three cars as well and everyone started laughing but luckily Jenny didn't hear them. Luckily for them...
