《Becoming God of a Dystopian World 》Chapter 123: Junior Elder

"Why is the tower leaning towards us?"
Zhao Luo asked Senior Cutie as he stood behind him.
Zhao Luo who had to deal with the flash of blinding light that had darkened his vision could only see a blurry tower but after his vision adjusted, he was stunned.
The tower was leaning towards them like it would fall on them anytime.
Zhao Luo who was a traveler remembered the leaning tower of Pisa in Italy.
'Even the shape is the same. I can't believe that I am getting this chance.'
Zhao Luo happily thought with a wide smile covering his face.
Before being put to sleep by Takuma in Takuma's Project, G.O.D, Zhao Luo wanted to visit this leaning tower at least once but he wasn't fated to. But he would have never thought that the library in the library zone would be in a leaning tower.
"Let's Go."
Senior Cutie told Zhao Luo as he moved towards the entrance of the tower.
Zhao Luo followed along with the bald senior.
The entrance was after a normal setup of round stairs.
After climbing the stairs, Zhao Luo who had entered a bright hall with Senior Cutie saw a circulation desk on the corner of the hall.
Both Zhao Luo and Senior Cutie could see a person dozing off with a scroll spread across his face and his legs spread over the desk as though he was showing them his professional dozing position.
"Knock, knock."
Senior Cutie went over to the desk and tapped the desk twice with his fist.
"Mhmm"
Thud!
The person who was sleeping woke up awkwardly and fell, head first from his chair. The scroll also fell from his face.
"Which bastard is it?"
The person got up while rubbing his head and Zhao Luo finally saw the face of this interesting character.
It was an old man with a giant beard almost reaching his stomach.
"Greeting Junior Elder."
Senior Cutie bowed his head as he greeted the old man in front of them.
"Greetings elder."
Zhao Luo also bowed.
"Oh, it's you, baldy."
The elder said as he nodded while looking at Senior Cutie while calling him baldy.
Zhao Luo stared at the elder's robe and saw a gold badge on his robe. But the beard of the elder covered the front of the badge so Zhao Luo couldn't see the level of the elder.

"Who is this young lad?"
The junior elder asked baldy as he looked at Zhao Luo while inspecting Zhao Luo from head to toe.
"Ah, this little brother just advanced to an outer disciple. He wanted to participate in the next week's ranking tournament so I brought him here first since he was worried about his limited technique."
Senior Cutie gave a brief detail to the junior elder who was rubbing his chin.
"I see. A new outer disciple."
The elder squinted his eyes at Zhao Luo and saw something that made him angry.
Thap!
The Junior Elder's palm landed on Senior Cutie's bald land as a smacking sound echoed in the hall.
"Do you think this old man is a fool?"
The junior elder asked Senior cutie while smacking his bald field multiple times.
"No elder. I could dare to fool you."
Senior Cutie answered as confusion enveloped his mind.
"Then how do you explain the eighth level 'VIII' badge on his chest?"
The Junior elder asked Senior Cutie while looking at Zhao Luo.
Since he had started questioning the senior, the junior elder had never removed his eyes from Zhao Luo.
"He was indeed a trainee disciple just half an hour ago. This little brother had over 9000 strength scores and a white badge along with it so that is the reason behind his badge."
Senior Cutie explained to the junior elder as a satisfactory expression appeared on the elder's wrinkled face.
"Ah, so you are one of those trainee disciples who perfected their base strength over years of training in the trainee hall."
The junior elder speculated while looking at Zhao Luo.
"Hah." Zhao Luo went along with the flow and nodded.
Suddenly the elder held Zhao Luo's hand.
"This old man respects people like you who perfect their strengths and deal with their weaknesses before advancing. So how many years did you train to get this much strength?"
The junior elder asked Zhao Luo.
Zhao Luo was slightly embarrassed as he heard the question.
He saw the glowing expression on the old man's face and knew that the old man was impressed with his score.
'But how should answer him?'
Zhao Luo wondered as he couldn't think of a lie that could persuade such an old man.
'His grip...'

Zhao Luo looked down at his hand that was trapped in the old man's hand.
Just the grip of this old man on Zhao Luo's hand was enough to show that this old man was also a monstrous oldie.
"Why are you not answering? Don't be shy. I already told you, I like hard-working disciples like you. Especially those who work with a conviction for even more years just to get this kind of amazing results. It shows how hard they worked without ever giving up over multiple years. So don't..."
The junior elder kept on talking to Zhao Luo.
Zhao Luo realized how hard the junior elder was trying to tell him that it was not an embarrassing matter to be at the trainee level for multiple years.
'I will just say the truth.'
"I recently joined the trainee hall as a trainee disciple so around a week. It took me a week to get this strong."
Zhao Luo replied to the elder's primary question.
Hearing Zhao Luo's answer led the elder to a world of shocks.
"Is that the truth?"
The elder looked at Zhao Luo with wide eyes which were filled with disbelief and questioned Zhao Luo.
"Yes, it's the truth."
Zhao Luo nodded as there was no shrewdness in his eyes.
The elder looked at Zhao Luo's eyes then shifted his gaze at Zhao Luo's free hand and finally felt the palm of Zhao Luo's hand which he was holding.
'Clear eyes, opened hand, and his trapped hand isn't sweaty either so he is not lying.'
"How could a new disciple get such a score with his strength...unbelievable."
The elder mumbled as a slightly awkward smile emerged on his face.
The junior elder hurriedly let go of Zhao Luo's hand and sat back on his seat while looking at both Senior Cutie and Zhao Luo.
"I assume you are here to learn techniques. Since you are a new outer disciple I will explain to you how you can get a technique. The books and scrolls are kept on the first floor, second floor, third floor, and so on.
The techniques are divided into two categories, their Colour, and the Category. From the lowest that is Black, Bronze, Silver, and gold which ks the highest, you can find all the techniques of such colors up there."
The junior elder pointed upwards.
"But remember every Coloured technique is further divided into Ranks, lowest being a D rank technique while the highest being an A-rank technique. While every ranked color technique has different levels of mastery, that will depend on your latent talent."
The junior elder slowly explained to Zhao Luo.
"There was such a division of techniques too?"
Zhao Luo asked him, the junior elder.
He only knew that the techniques were decided according to the color but there were ranks to every technique too.
"Yes. You will know once you climb to the first floor and further."
'Hmmm'
"I would recommend that you both should go to the second floor. There are some silver techniques on that floor that are ranging from B Grade to D Grade. They will suit you well."
The second elder advised them.
"As for the exchange, you both have an hour to choose your techniques, after that hour passes, every ten minutes, ten of your Xin Points will be used. As for the techniques, the content can be seen for 1 point while depending on the rank and color of the book, the points needed to obtain that technique will vary."
"Huff"
The junior elder took a deep breath as he had finally explained everything to Zhao Luo.
He waved at them gesturing them to go.
"Your hour has started."
Zhao Luo and Senior Cutie rushed towards the stairs that would be taking them to the first floor.
"Thank you, elder."
Zhao Luo stopped at the start of the stairs and gave bowed deeply in the direction of the junior elder.
"Haha."
The junior elder laughed it off and waved at Zhao Luo to go away.
'What a kind man.'
The junior elder thought while looking at the disappearing back of Zhao Luo.
"This is the first time someone thanked me for this."
The junior elder said with a sorrowful voice and tears started rolling down his eyes while drenching his beard.
Zhao Luo while reaching the first floor of the library didn't have a single clue that he had forced a junior elder to cry with just two words.

Please note: the Sexual Content tag is there due to a single brief plot-relevant scene, which has a warning at the beginning. For other details, read the full description below. Rating breakdown, since that should be public info: 5 x 5*, 2 x 4.5*, 1 x 0.5* During a blackout, a frail and ragged old woman stops to ask for a glass of water from a backyard barbecue party. Given a good supper instead, she looks around the group, and tells them, "Be who and what you truly are." Days later, seven of the people from the barbecue find themselves drawn into a trap laid by a pair of wizards and their accomplices, who kidnap them into a bubble reality. All seven, who have known each other all their lives, are informed that they are not in fact entirely human: they have active fae blood, due to a series of conditions culminating with the blessing of the elderly fae woman. The transformation into fae form comes as a shock: all seven, whether originally female or male, find themselves now unreasonably beautiful women. More urgent even than that, though, is their captivity. Getting back to the real world is a higher priority than this metamorphosis that rapidly begins to feel natural... but this is only the first step, as the diverse types of fae blood they carry begin to surface. With no resources except themselves, how can they escape this prison? If they succeed, how can they possibly reclaim their lives? Just how many other faelings have been kidnapped, anyway, and what happened to them? And is there a way to make sure that their captors never put anyone else through this? Back in the real world, Kayla, who learned long ago to trust her gut instincts, is absolutely certain that something is very wrong. The pattern in the list of missing friends is easy to spot, but makes no sense at all. Then a young woman turns up at the backyard gate who knows more than she should, and even though her explanation makes even less sense, every instinct tells Kayla that Riley is her only way to get them back. If they're not quite what they were, well, that's a bridge to cross later... Just a little note: I'm a big believer in endings that are upbeat but not candy-coated, and not a fan of grim-and-gritty or of glamorized violence. These are adults in a difficult situation. However, no one gets raped, and the physical violence is, all things considered, fairly minimal. There is some harassment, sexual and otherwise, and also some mild restraint and mild verbal abuse. Complicating factors are generally wizardly or fae in nature. If I need to warn you about gender in this being all over the map, some of it reality-based rather than fantasy-based, highly diverse sexuality, or that there is (especially later) some indirect fetish/BDSM imagery and honest character discussion, then you probably should just avoid everything I write. :-) Also available on Scribble Hub.
