《Becoming God of a Dystopian World 》Chapter 232: Back At The Lawless City

"Let's hurry."
Senior Cutie said right after telling them the plan.
He picked up his speed, and instead of walking out of the outer hall, he ran towards the exit with a steady rhythm. This allowed Zhao Luo and the others to be right behind him.
Fifteen minutes later, the four were already at the exit of the outer hall and exited the outer hall without wasting any time but they didn't stop even after exiting the outer hall as Senior Cutie was the one who was adjusting their pace.
They proceeded towards the TPC building at a speed that even Pi Hao could manage.
Since the moment they had left the mission hall building, it had been 20 minutes since then and now Zhao Luo was once again back at the TPC building.
Standing outside the black TPC building, nostalgia hit him hard, harder than a truck.
"Ah, this brings back memories."
'Even though it hasn't been that long, but it definitely felt like a lot of time.'
Zhao Luo mumbled as he remembered the time when he was telling the Second Elder that he will become the strongest in the Xin Sect.
'I have already achieved a step.'
Zhao Luo said in his mind as he was already the top disciple of the outer hall.
"Let's go in."
Senior Cutie said to them and proceeded inside the building.
Zhao Luo and the others followed behind him.
Right after entering the building, Zhao Luo looked around.
"The circle is the same."
"Oh, even he is here too."
Zhao Luo looked at the disciple who was the one on porter duty today.
It was the same disciple that Zhao Luo had seen when he arrived at the Sect's TPC building.
"Where do you want to go seniors?"

The porter asked them as Zhao Luo and the others entered the circle.
"The lawless city!"
Senior Cutie replied to the porter gently with a smile on his face.
'Nod.'
The porter nodded as he activated the teleportation circle.
"Don't we have to pay?"
Looking at the glowing light emerging from beneath his feet, Zhao Luo asked.
"Why would we? Disciples don't have to pay when they are leaving the sect and that only happens when they are on a mission."
Senior Cutie explained to Zhao Luo as the light enveloped them.
"Whoosh."
The four disappeared from the circle.
A moment later, the disciple on porter duty mumbled.
"That handsome brother looked familiar."
He tried to remember where he had seen Zhao Luo before but to no result.
Since even in his wildest imagination, he wouldn't dare to think that a current level eight "VIII" outer disciple was a trainee about a month ago.
-
At the entry city, the city was still as crowded as ever.
With trash polluting every one of the streets and bloodied bodies dropped around the corners, the city lived up to its name.
'The lawless City.'
In the middle of such a city, inside a black building, a group of four disciples in purple robes suddenly appeared in a circle.
"Welcome Senior Brothers."
The disciple at the TPC building hurriedly bowed to them.
'I am back.'
Zhao Luo thought but then realized that he had sudden nausea.
"But I can't get used to it."
Zhao Luo complained while stepping out of the circle with wobbling feet as he greeted the disciple.
"Hah, what a kid."
Xiao Yu commented right after listening to Zhao Luo.
"Look at your feet. Who is the kid now?"

Zhao Luo pointed at Xiao Yu's which looked like tree branches swinging in a storm and shouted back at him.
"Well, this is because I am leaving the Sect for the first time."
Xiao Yu scratched his head and tried to come back with an excuse.
"It's the same for me."
Zhao Luo replied as they both felt the aftereffects of not being able to handle the spatial transfer.
"It will be fine. Let's go."
Senior Cutie said in a serious tone as he passed them.
"Are you guys okay?"
Pi Hao asked while glancing at them.
"I am fine but I think Brother Xiao Yu needs us to carry him."
Zhao Luo replied to Pi Hao's question as he had already regulated his balance.
"Who needs help? I am fine too."
Xiao Yu said coldly as he followed behind Senior Cutie.
"Sigh. This tsundere nature of his."
Zhao Luo smirked as he and Pi Hao licked up their pace.
As they exited the TPC building, the people around the building and those who were far away from it, all stared at Zhao Luo and the others in horror.
"Run. It's the disciples from the Xin Sect."
People shouted as they tried to enter the secluded roads between the building around them.
"What? Why are they running away?"
Zhao Luo was shocked by the reaction of these people who were looking at him and his brothers as if they were some kind of monster.
"I remember that even a kid walked up to me last time when I was here with Brother Si Chen and Sister Mo Anna."
Zhao Luo remembered the kid who was even strange enough to stab him even though at that time he was with two disciples.
"This must be their doing."
Senior Cutie who had been looking pretty seriously squinted his eyes as he told them through his breath.
"Their?"
Pi Hao mumbled as he couldn't understand Senior Cutie's words.
"The spies from Qi Sect."
Xiao Yu added and Zhao Luo nodded as he heard Xiao Yu's comment.
"There are people of both ranges here but most are outcast, unlike the ones who had fled at night."
Senior Cutie started talking as he started walking away from the TPC building along with Zhao Luo and the other two.
"Some of the ruined families of Xin Sect are here too but they all live in fear here. The conditions are the same in the other seven cities too. Except for the first city where the royal families and the black city is, the second city where the merchants live, and the third city where the Five Martial Arts Families are. The other cities are corrupted just like this one."
Senior Cutie was telling them in a low voice as though letting such words fall on the ears of others could cause trouble for him.
"Then do you mean?"
Zhao Luo understood what Senior Cutie was trying to tell them as the 8 cities were divided under the two royal families.

Faeos Book One: The Stuff of Legends
A ragtag assemblage of adventurers, scraped together by seeming circumstance, investigate the theft of an ecologically essential artifact. In so doing, they find themselves embroiled (as adventurers so often do) in the larger machinations of a mischevious gnome, a determined mage or three, and a dire threat to their homes. Based on a homebrew Pathfinder campaign begun several years ago, and still running. Faeos is one part combat, one part character building, and one part entirely justified silliness. Blame any lead character weirdnesses on my players, whom I love. Blame everything else on me. Oh, and yes, this should also be tagged "Unreliable Narrator."
