《Blue Core》Day 56 - Shayma

She felt better than she had in a long time. Maybe ever. Never before had [Endurance] buoyed her so much or [Longstrider] been so quick. Even Luck was back, that sense of twisting probabilities just outside of control.
[Seeker], which had fallen to an intuitive murmur she could barely grasp, and had been on the verge of going out completely, now shone like a beacon, telling her distance and direction. Her personal compass had two great blazing pyres of her Queen and that dungeon.
If dungeon it was.
She knew a little, very little about them. There were the Twelve Great Dungeons, of course, the wild ones whose roots burrowed down into the heart of the world and which nobody had found the bottom of. Or even gotten close. Not even the mage-kings. Then there were the pet cores the mage-kings did have.
The Great Dungeons were wild, full of things hideous and fantastic, larger on the inside than seemed possible, but entirely self-contained and secluded from the outside world. The mage-kings cores gave them half their power, with an insatiable appetite for living flesh and tendrils that reached out into the world. Neither of them were exactly hospitable, although she’d personally rate the latter as far worse than the former.
But none of them had black flesh. Great Dungeons, in the few areas the dungeon walls had been found and damaged - not as easy as one might think - bled grey. The mage-kings cores were all brown and red, an unpleasant color to her eyes. So this one was an oddity.
Seeing the house, she might have thought it was some rogue mage’s lair but for the fact there was nothing that was not dungeon-stuff but the items on the shelves. And all those were accounted for, given the flame knight badge.

And quite aside from being empty, it had never offered her harm.
Clearly it was capable of it. She wasn’t going to mourn the death of one of her tormentors or pursuers, but the question had to be asked how something with no monsters and a few traps could kill a flame knight in such a way that their very expensive armor remained intact. There was also the feeling of being watched that was far more intense than any other place she’d been.
It persisted even now, though...it wasn’t exactly being watched. It was being watched over. Even stranger.
She felt [Luck] rising and humming, a sensation she’d nearly forgotten about, and gave it a push to go off and do whatever it intended. Probabilities twisted and changed and something out in the world went one way instead of another. It was a big one, exhausting like running a mile, but not as bad as it once had been.
Shayma stepped out of the trees onto the riverbank to find an empty fishing boat. The fisherman was nowhere in sight, so she could guess what exactly [Luck] had been doing. She felt a little guilty about taking the boat, but only a little. The sooner she got back to the city, the sooner she could convince them to leave.
If it wasn’t already too late.

I'm on TDY from Hell
Temporary Duty (TDY): refers to a soldier’s assignment to a location that is not their permanent duty station. This type of duty is often looked upon favorably by soldiers due to various perks: per diem pay, lodging, meals and incidental pay. Do you ever think about what comes next? What happens after you draw your last breath? Gerald never did. It didn’t even cross his mind on the day he died for his country. But now he’s there. Now he’s living it. Death wasn’t the end, it was only the beginning. I’m on TDY from Hell is a Dark Supernatural Fantasy from the mind of BeamMeUpScotty who brought you the superhero fanfiction, A Change of Pace. The original military sci-fi space opera, Two Worlds; and the realistic superhuman science fiction novel The Harbinger Tales. Currently, it will post one 2000 – 3000 word chapter a week on Friday evenings EST. This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License.

Tale of a Cruel World
A world where civilization is worthless and the meanderings of the wild bend humanity to its knees. This the tale of a cruel world, seemingly destined never to find peace. Through calamity after catastrophe, through silence and storm, its people have survived. Though, soon the final calamity will come. A clone of the strongest, most feared mage, Calamitas, bioengineered to only feel 'positive' emotions, and an ordinary hunter fighting to protect his dying sister begin their journey with a wish to rid a city of plaguebrought strife. (This is based on the Calamity Mod for Terraria, but should be perfectly readable to any normal viewers. To make its universe into a living, breathing place requires liberties enough to make this almost 'my own' world, so keep in mind that this isn't a very 'conventional' fanfiction(or maybe it is, I don't actually know the conventions).)

Fake Dating the Bad Boy
Highest rank in teen fiction #7Highest rank in #boyfriend #2Started 28th August 2016 COMPLETED 8th January 2017Not edited(update - I wrote this book when I was 14/15 so I do apologise for any misspelling or mistakes in the book)Olivia Valentine wants revenge on her ex boyfriend, Aaron Black, who cheated on her with, as Liv would like to call her, the blonde haired bimbo who is only popular for her fake boobs, and what better way to get revenge than to date the one and only Cole Williams, the hot school bad boy, who girls swoon over and who Aaron Black just happens to envy. Oh fake date that is.Olivia Valentine, the girl who isn't labeled, by which I mean she is not called the nerd, the slut, the normal student, nor is she the most popular girl in the school, she is just Liv. Many boys fancy her, whilst many girls envy her. Olivia Valentine has it all, the pretty looks, the long silky hair and an extremely rich mother, despite all this, she is most definitely not a horrible, snobby, stuck-up cow, if anything, she is the exact opposite.Okay, so now add Cole Williams into the picture. Cole Williams, the one who is definitely labeled, the one labeled as the hot school bad boy. He practically has every girl just dropping at his feet and he is constantly getting into fights with other jocks. Like Liv, he also comes from a rich family, which is probably one of the reasons why he is an arrogant, cocky, self-obsessed hottie. But deep down he might just have a heart of gold.Liv and Cole have never really spoken because of Aaron, but surely when it comes to getting revenge on Aaron Black, the two can make Parties, high school drama, fights, kisses, cat fights.Your classic teen fiction.
