Probably the nicest Berserker you’ll ever meet

A boy who’s starting to feel out of his depth but goes on
Still, it’s much to early for conclusions to be drawn
Though he’s learning to employ patience along with speed
His abilities are still evolving now indeed
After passing by the messengers in a hurry
Sky had been running with a relentless fury
“Don’t you think that we can slow down now, you’ll get too tired!
When are you going to tell me what had just transpired?”
Leaf was far from out of breath but still was quite confused
When the two scouts asked for the truth she had quickly refused
“Why didn’t you ask for help, they both seemed pretty nice
Couldn’t we have at least asked the old one for advice?”
Sky slowed a little so she could answer her friend
“Father says that help from the king bites you in the end
Sure, there are a lot of nice people serving the king
But if you give them the chance, they would take everything”
“I think I heard my mother says something like that before
She used to work for them but doesn’t like them anymore
Why would they want Twig though, sure he’s weak, but he’s not bad
Advertisement
And if they tried to take him, old Delilah would be mad”
“I wouldn’t want to be there when she met those scouts for sure
But it would be more than a boy like Twig could now endure
What he needs is friends, they way he’s always there for us
Whether the king wants him or not, we’ve no time to fuss”
Achievement: Lesson in Discernment
Your speed will never fail you but at times your judgement will
Learning who to trust means more than knowing how to kill
As you’re quick to learn these lessons, I’ll push you along
Often you must quickly discern what is right and wrong
Leaf felt his mind grow a little clearer right away
Understanding more of what he had just heard Sky say
He realized it may be safer for them on their own
Than to rely on strangers in service of the throne

Still, it’s much to early for conclusions to be drawn
Though he’s learning to employ patience along with speed
His abilities are still evolving now indeed
“You know, the gods sure have been nice and helpful recently
Achievement messages are mostly all I used to see”
Leaf pondered upon all of his god’s recent advice
They’d always been helpful, but they’d never been so nice”
“Father says that it’s a sign that something could be wrong
Normally the gods only help destiny along
If they’re trying to guide us to a specific fate
There must be something quite big which they anticipate”
“What exactly does that mean, is it to do with Twig?
Don’t you have more details, what do you mean something big?”

Sky was growing irritable as Leaf carried on
“Please will you just focus, or will you talk dusk til dawn?!”
She turned around and snapped at him, stopping him in his tracks
“Sorry Sky, I’m not as smart as you, but please relax”
Sky was going to rebuke him further but she stopped
And when she saw a status message screen, her shoulders dropped
Achievement: Growing into your Class
That’s the spirit you should have, your eyes were just in fire
Rage will give you a path to whatever you desire
You may be angelic, but your strength is in your wrath
Better you accept yourself and run toward that path

You may think that this is just a game to me, it’s not
Even though I do enjoy your wild side quite a lot
You’re about to wish you had been born a berserker
It seems the world is about to start moving much quicker
The level up felt like raw power coursing through her veins
No hint of previous level ups’ temporary pains
But when she read the status message she knew right away
And when she turned her eyes upward, it was no longer day

Rise of the First Necromancer
Asrael Nessarat awakes on a sandy dune with a mouthful of sand and nothing but tattered rags in his posession. As the High Magus of the school of Necromancy, he once aspired to prove to the Emperor that magic still held a place in their society. But that day came, passed and inevitably accelerated his kind's downfall. Now; they are hunted, strung up and burned on pyres throughout the Empire by the Emperor's holy Inquisition- an efficient and ruthless army hell-bent on bleeding every last droplet of magic from the lands. With nothing but a mouthful of sand and tattered rags; Asrael is determined to seek the one thing his cold, still heart desires. Vengeance. This story can, at times, get very dark. It is not recommended for the faint of heart. This is not a story of an overtly powerful wizard who can pulverize his enemies from across the world, nor is it in any way, shape or form a joyous tale. We follow Asrael as he and his companions explore and seek to change an unjust world, where kindness and acceptance are exceptions, rather than the rule. If you are looking for a story to inspire hope or joy, this is not it. If you wish to read about likeable, heroic people, turn around. If you wish to see good battle evil, where the cut in between is clear, then this is not for you.
