CHAPTER FORTY FIVE
Whether I’m enjoying this or not is not the point
~
Leaf was shaking as he lost count of the new monsters
Sky was was more entranced by their uncountable numbers
They heard the monsters landing in the woods, the ground shaking
Leaf could barely move as both his legs started quaking
“Leaf, we need to find somewhere defensible, and now
A cave with a small entrance we could seal up fast somehow
Run as fast as you can to discover such a thing
I’ll stay here until you’ve found a place, so get running”
Leaf took a few moments to process what she had said
Overwhelmed by the feeling that they’d both soon be dead
But somehow he got his feet to move, and off he went
If he failed to find safety, he knew just what that meant
Sky waved him off and he became a blur amidst the trees
After a few moments Leaf was moving like the breeze
And as Sky had anticipated, monsters soon appeared
More than she had ever seen or thought she could have feared
Achievement: Lone Wolf
You sent your friend away for his own safety, didn’t you
Knowing he could outrun most monsters he runs into
But I see it on your face, with such a fight ahead
You’d be happy fighting til you won or wound up dead

You’re ready for a fight, and that’s all that I need to see
Even if it hurts, I’ll try to level you quickly
You know that forced levelling is dangerous to do
But I have a feeling that’s not a worry to you

“Call me a Berserker or a battle hungry fool
I’ll use whatever class the gods will give me as a tool
But do not be mistaken, I fight only to one end
And I will not die anywhere til I have saved my friend”
The first to show itself before her was an ogre, big and green
Twice the size of any man, its ugly face was mean
It waved around a vulgar club that tore through trees like straw
And when it found Sky it laughed with delight at what it saw

A brutal monster known most for its merciless nature
It takes pleasure in the torture of any creature
If you don’t think you can kill it quickly, run away
You’d be lucky be not to die in a most painful way
She knew that in a normal situation she would run
But there was nowhere safe to be with what had just begun
If she could hold her ground until Leaf found place to hide
She might survive a while, but she would not know til she tried
The ogre didn’t wait a moment to launch its attack
On its way to Sky it broke a tree with a loud crack
Splinters showered over Sky upstructing her vision
The club was fast approaching with impressive precision
She managed to jump up but still the weapon grazed her leg
Her ankle twisted with a harsh sound like a cracking egg
As the pain crept up on her she hovered in the air
But then the club was swung again before she was aware
Her body barely slowed the weapon as it made contact
And she was sent flying before she could even react

She flew straight through an opening in the trees like a stone
Helpless to adjust the path in which she had been thrown
She landed on a rock beside a river with a crack
She felt her blood escaping while she lay there on her back
The ogre’s footsteps shook the rock on which she lay
And before long the monster’s massive club was on its way
But as she watched it fall toward her, time began to slow
No longer could she feel the pain she felt moments ago
She felt so good she’d wondered if the last attack had missed
And sat up straight to meet the club with nothing but her fist
The rock beneath her cracked as she absorbed the the force of it
But still the club against her fist just stung a little bit
The ogre stumbled backward, losing balance in surprise
Not sure how such power came from something of that size
Before it gained its balance Sky was flying through the air
Her frame so small the Ogre barely noticed she was there
But when she caught its chin with a right hook it was too late
The Ogre’s head was twisted into quite a gruesome state
Even with its broken neck it took one final swing
But Sky wouldn’t be caught off guard again by anything
She ducked and the big club went flying into nearby trees
And as she watched, the ore groaned while falling to its knees
Achievement: No Pain No Gain
Pain is no longer a force to slow or dull your mind
You’ve left unnecessary hesitation behind
And amidst the chaos, you gave everything you had
That punch that disregarded all common sense wasn’t bad

Impressive show, as always, Sky, let’s see what more you’ve got
Before you die, that won’t have been the strongest thing you fought
If you do survive to wake up to a brand new day
Be prepared for a headache that might not go away
She sat down on a log that had been knocked down recently
Looking at her painless wounds while breathing heavily
But she had no time to wonder how she should be feeling
All around her more monsters were quickly appearing

Oublivant
Oublivants: a category of dungeons characterised by the antithesis of life, necrosis. "Dungons as a whole tend towards the lethal side when it comes to exploring them; however, an oublivant actively seeks out destruction on a grand scale. No greater example of their deep hatred for life exists than the very first discovery of an oublivant. It was a massive dungeon spanning miles in all directions. It continuously expanded along the surface, so fast you could see it, and left nothing but a scorched, withered wasteland in its wake. Wherever the oublivant resides, nothing but the undead exist, as all living life has been eradicated. Why it is, exactly, the oublivant seem so against life so as to break the passive rule dungeons have is unknown. What is known, however, is that they're a threat that, upon discovery, is to be immediately eliminated." - Archomagus Addiom Onero, Court of VascilNote: This is my first story on royal road. It'd be nice if you were nice... nicely.

Innocence: Exiled Prince
Victor Lawson; a son of a King. Quite a scandalous King, but over the years, he had proved his own worth to the people that he ruled not with force but with words. When the knock sounds on her door she just knows it heralds the first day of the rest of her life as a respectable, and entirely proper, Hobbit.Instead of her Happily Ever After, however, Bilba gets a company of Dwarves - complete with their obnoxious leader who MIGHT be vaguely attractive if he ever stopped ruining it by opening his mouth.Clearly the only possible explanation is somewhere, in a past life, she must have done something truly AWFUL to deserve this.
