《I indeed don't know how to cultivate》chapter 8 The Maid

Talking about digital effects, Zhang Jian got excited. At this time, Wang Yan had been repeating drinking and pouring spirit, while the other two did not notice at all.
Zhang Jian took out a charcoal crayon from the room, sharpened the tip, and planned to sketch Equinox Flower for them.
Old Man Xiao looked at rough lines on the drawing board and didn't care at first. Not until Equinox Flower 'blossomed' on the drawing board did his eyes suddenly sparkled with astonishment.
The crayon dropped on the table as the painting was finished.
A vivid Equinox Flower stood out markedly on the paper.
Old Man Xiao sobered up from the drunken state from the shock of seeing the painting. It was exactly what he had seen before, even more gorgeous. More frighteningly, the Qi seeped out from the painting communicated and responded with the Qi hidden inside his body.
Zhang Jian took down the painting and stuffed it into Old Man Xiao's arms.
"It has been quite a while since we last met. Take it as a gift from me to congratulate you on your recovery." Giving a gift to a recovered patient was necessary etiquette everywhere.
Old Man Xiao swallowed saliva, his hands trembling slightly, "About that, I don't think it is proper..."
As a renowned master in ancient times, etiquette meant a lot to Old Man Xiao. Social-courtesy unwise as Zhang Jian was, he knew Old Man Xiao loved this painting so much.
"I would throw it away then." He made a pretense of tossing it away.
Old Man Xiao agreed readily, "No! Can't I have it back?" He felt somewhat grieved as it was not what he usually did to eat and take. How was he going to return the favors?
Thinking of this, he noticed that his disciple beside him had overdrunk and was holding a bowl bigger than her face and giggling.

Zhang Jian sniffed the spirit in his cup. "Oh, no, I made a mistake about the alcohol content."
Old Man Xiao was so embarrassed. He had tasted the spirit, which was better than that of Celestial World. He felt reluctant to drink too much, but out of his expectation, his disciple just...
He went forward to pinching Wang Yan's ear directly, lifting her whole body, and driving out the alcohol that remained in her body with his Qi.
After sobering up, Wang Yan felt the pain in her ear and did not dare to move, "It hurts... Master, are you drunk."
Old Man Xiao shouted, "What a farce!" He raised his hand, trying to slap her.
Wan Yan dared not to defend herself with the Qi, afraid of inflicting even worse punishment. She just closed her eyes, embracing whatever to happen.
"Xiao!"
Zhang Jian came to her rescue in time and smoothed things over.
Maybe because he drank more than usual, his voice was loud, which shocked Old Man Xiao.
Instead of being slapped on the face, Wan Yan found her master froze there, frightened, and dared not make any movement as she slowly opened her eyes.
Xiao?
No one from her knowledge had ever called her master straightly by his name, and never had she seen her master so frightened like now.
Zhang Jian also found himself a bit overreacting by calling out his name in such a loud voice. He calmed himself down a bit and lowered his voice, saying, "A man of honour reasons things out, and does not resort to force." Old Man Xiao would hit his disciples even in front of an outsider, which showed how miserable this little girl's daily life must be.
Seeing that he was not angry, then Xiao said, "My reckless disciple not only took the jade I gave you, but also tried to take your painting. She knows nothing about ethics and courtesy."

Zhang Jian said sternly, "I don't care about unnecessary and overelaborate formalities here." He was tired of the complicated etiquette of the ancients.
Xiao was stunned and then continued making a conjecture about zhang Jian's real intention.
Was he testing me? Or was he trying Yan?
...
Various thoughts came and went within a second.
He made his decision in a split second.
"Since so, I would like to entrust you with my insensible disciple to discipline, My peer Zhang."
Zhang Jian felt puzzled, "What do you mean?"
Xiao explained, "I have a lot of petty things to deal with, and I really have no energy to discipline her. Yan has no speciality of any kind and was a disciple of mediocre talents, but she would make a good maid."
Zhang Jian was surprised. "How can I do that?" Then, reconsidering what just happened, he thought it would be a relief for the little girl if she were with him. It was supposed to be a good deed; even it may mean some inconvenience.
Wang Yan raised her hand self-consciously. "Can I say something?" She felt like she was an unwanted ball kicked.
Xiao glared at her. "No!" he then used sonic wave transmission in saying, "It is for your own good, the best thing I could do for you as your master. You'll have a great chance here." Before Zhang could ask for details about the coverage of Wang Yan's future stay, such as the cost of food and the lack of a bed, Xiao was already gone.
This speed he was taking his leave would have eclipsed Bolt, the Olympic Champion.
They were the only ones left in the room.
As a cultivator raised by her master, Wang Yan had never had close contact with a man other than Long Yi and her master.
Just as her heart was throbbing like hell, she saw Zhang Jian had cleaned up the table and brought the pans and pots back into the kitchen already. Then a voice came out, "Tonight you take the bed, and I would make do on the floor."

His motivation to pursue his studies, gone. This event caused Jacob to fall into the death grip that is a job in retail. Now if this change was a good or bad thing, he didn't know. But there was one thing Jacob knew for certain. He didn't have to mop the floors anymore. Author's Note: (This is my first story, and I would be very thankful if grammatical errors were pointed out. I could also take a few suggestions in the comments if you would. This is less a planned production, and more a little project that I'm winging as it goes. I will try and be consistent with at least 2 chapters a week. Also, as I am a completely new author, the number of words per chapter may fluctuate. The minimum will be around 1000 words, while other chapters may be 2000-3000. It will hopefully only get better with time.)

The times and struggle of a orc cook in the Demon Lord's army. (On Hiatus due to reasons seen in summary)
Title needed a change. So a full honest update to you all who are reading and following this story. I'm putting this story on a Hiatus not only because of I'm trying to improve my spelling and grammer (which is slow going) but also due to other reasons listed down below. 1) The story is getting a full re-write as these last months have given me time to see what I have already writen and what else I have planned is not gonna work no matter how much I've tried with what I call 'test chapters' to see how what works or not. 2) I don't really have the time to write, mainly thanks to life deciding to throw a bunch of stuff and leaving me exhausted both mentally and physically. And what little free time I have is barely enough for me to do anything that other than sleep or play a game for maybe 15 min. 3) I have a job and bills to pay. Some of which are overdue. It also dose not help that thanks to the new inflations in prices, I've been struggling to get things in order. So now you all know. Once things have calmed down and gotten somewhat in order again, I'll be posting the new first chapter as soon as I can along with a new summary for the story. Until then, I hope you all have a nice day and enjoy all the other stories you can find around this wonderful site.

Homeward Bound Part One: An Unexpected Journey
Bilba Baggins couldn't be happier. She's embraced her Baggins' half and has placated her Took half with a short trip to Bree (the most adventure she ever wishes to have). In addition, she is convinced Fram Harfoot, the most eligible bachelor in all of Hobbiton, will soon declare his eternal love for her - particularly after he sees the dinner she's prepared for him. When the knock sounds on her door she just knows it heralds the first day of the rest of her life as a respectable, and entirely proper, Hobbit.Instead of her Happily Ever After, however, Bilba gets a company of Dwarves - complete with their obnoxious leader who MIGHT be vaguely attractive if he ever stopped ruining it by opening his mouth.Clearly the only possible explanation is somewhere, in a past life, she must have done something truly AWFUL to deserve this.
