《Keep Your Pants On! I'm Trying to Study!》Chapter 14 - Brent Cobbledick

After getting ready for school a whole hour early, Hanna entered Kyle’s room. He startled for a second and jerked his head around. When he saw it was just her he relaxed and continued his work. Using an Exacto knife, he sliced a small hole in the back of his blue backpack. It was the perfect size to fit a single tendril of his. Then, from under his bed, he grabbed a strange device that looked like a combination of a pistol and a small smartphone. He placed it inside his bag then dumped a bunch of books on top of it.
She was a bit worried that it would break, but maybe alien technology wasn’t as delicate as the tech in her own world.
Once he’d finished zipping up his bag, they left for the trolley station. She noticed several main characters in the crowd. One was Chad Moore, who lived nearby with his adopted sister and her two friends. All of those women had big hips and impossibly large breasts.
Chad was the type of main character that looked young. Like, Hanna could swear that he was maybe, 14 or 15. But when she saw his ID at the library it said [Definitely the Age of Consent] years old.
Shit like this caused eyes to narrow with suspicion.
Chad also had the attitude of a terrier who believed it was a mastiff.
Yeah. Hentai world was a strange place. A place that often made Hanna question her sanity. Or swear that the guy who wrote the original plot was a pseudo-pedo who was skating by on a technicality. The type of people you narrowed your eyes at when they said, ‘Sure, this character looks young, but their birth certificate says they’re a legal adult.’ Or ‘What do you mean she looks 10? She’s not 10! I already explained that she’s 5000 years old!’
Sus. Very sus.
But that was the consequence of delving deep into media from other cultures. You had to sift through the content; experiencing the good with bad—and the cool-weird with the ‘Holy shit, this would totally be questionable in my culture! Ew.’

At least in this world (so far), she hadn’t run into any unhealthy women who had overdeveloped milk glands even before getting pregnant.
She stepped onto the trolley with Kyle, but it soon came to a complete stop. A car had stalled on the tracks, and another had come along a hit it. It took a full 45 minutes for the city to tow the cars and clean up the debris enough for the trolley to continue on its journey.
And during that time, Hanna attempted to study. Unfortunately, Chad and his stepsister’s friends had a grope and tickle party just a few feet from her. And no one but her noticed. Not even Kyle.
She’d been tempted to share the misery, but alien Kyle was too innocent. It was best if he didn’t see things like this.
It was already bad enough that they’d—
The trolley came to a stop at their school just as the first bell rang. They were out of time to track down Zander.
“I’ll meet you at lunch and we can find him from there,” she said.
Kyle nodded and rushed to reach his own class. And as he walked away, she accidentally noticed his nice ass.
But what was she even thinking? The alien may not be her brother, but that didn’t mean she should ogle him.
She sighed.
Being a transmigrator was weird. She may have her original’s memories but she didn’t have the emotions that came with them. So even though she knew she was blood-related to the original Kyle, it had been hard to treat him like family and not like a close friend with a weird desire for her to call him sister instead.
That was probably the reason she wasn’t going absolutely insane right now. Stupid Hentai world.

Just after the lunch bell rang, Hanna arrived at her brother’s classroom and from there they skulked their way to Zander’s.
A girl with zebra-striped hoop earrings complained to her friends loudly, “I mean. You guys are awesome but lunchtime just isn’t as fun when Zander goes out for food. I’m heading out first.”

Hanna turned to Kyle, silently asking him what they should do now.
“Let’s wait for him here,” Kyle said. “We can catch up with my old friend from back when I was in the swimming club.”
Her brother walked into the classroom and over to a short man with lavender hair. Her eyes nearly bulged when she realized who Kyle meant them to sit with. The man was another main character. She hadn’t seen him do anything weird yet—but with a name like, Brent Cobbledick, there had to be something going on with him.
Brent blinked once when he saw Kyle then looked around as if worried.
“Hi, Kyle. It’s been a while since you quit the team.”
He smiled awkwardly. “I was in an accident recently. Could have died. But it made me realize that I’d left the team on bad terms and I wanted to come by and see you. You were the closest to everyone. Are you still close?”
He glanced at me as if curious why Kyle brought his sister along. Was he worried that her brother was going to introduce her and get them to go on a blind date or something?
“Yeah. We... are all much closer. Closer than... Well, when you left the team, it brought us all together. Like family.”
“Mind if my sister and I eat lunch with you?”
Brent looked sideways as if considering. “That would depend on why you brought your sister along.”
Answering for herself. “I had a falling out with my friends. Now I eat lunch with Kyle. Don’t mind me. I just don’t want to eat alone.”
That didn’t seem to ease his fears, and his muscles tensed even more.
“Plus, Kyle almost died. So I want to spend time with him.” She gave him the professional smile she used to use on rude customers. “It has absolutely nothing to do with you.”
“Oh, then it’s fine.”
***
Kyle pretended to be the human version through lunch. It wasn’t that hard as he mostly asked questions about how everyone was doing, then silently ate.
But he had noticed something about this friend of Original Kyle. He was definitely hiding something. If he wasn’t already fairly positive that Zander was the Lusundai, then he might suspect this guy. Well, He was a little on the small side for a Lusundai’s choice in body but it could have been a body snatch of opportunity with him.
Just as the bell rang, Zander returned to class. The boisterous athlete smiled and greeted everyone he passed. The girls in the class, all crowded around him. That was a little frustrating. He needed a clear path to Zander or the scan wouldn’t work.
And since class would start soon, Kyle had to go back to his own, or he’d look suspicious.
He said his goodbyes to Brent then and stood up.
He slipped his tentacle into his bag and made his way by Zander. Several of the girls who crowded around Zander took one look at him and moved out of his way. This gave him the perfect shot! With a deft movement of his tentacle inside his backpack, he scanned the man. He felt the telltale vibration that the scan had succeeded as he finished passing by the man.
One girl tripped in front of him. He jerked back, eyes wide. She must have been very clumsy because he couldn’t see anything that could have caused her to trip.
Fortunately, Hanna squeezed past him and helped her up. This was taking too much time!
At this point, they could only look at the results after class.
