《Another World Trip: Journey with My Cat and an Otaku Loli Goddess》Chapter 67 - Profound Cereal Superfreak Physique

‘I was examining your body.’
“Why?” Long Di’s brow raised, not for the first time today.
‘I was curious.’
“Again… why?” His brow reached even higher, as if it had grand ambitions.
‘Forget that. Are you aware that you possess a special-grade physique?’
Long Di’s brow wanted to sprout wings and fly when he heard this, “… Excuse me?”
****
“What do you mean I have a special-grade physique?”
‘I don’t know how to say that any simpler than I just did.’
“I see what you did there… and I respect it.” It dawned on me that the Destiny’s Scale pettiness level is over 9000 and I can’t say I don’t like it.
There are moments when I feel like I have been cheated one way or another and this… this is one of those times. I don’t even know when this happened.
‘In any case, I have seen many special-grade physiques across the aeons. Some very special ones appear more than once across the ages whilst others fade into obscurity, but this is the first time I have seen a physique where none comes even remotely close to it. I dare not say I am right when spotting these properties. It’s almost as if you were handcrafted to break every conceivable notion and rule within this world. What are you, child?’
Now I don’t know a lot of things, but I know when something sounds good and boy oh boy does this sound good.
“Don’t keep me in suspense. What do I have?” I couldn’t help it, I had to know what I had under my belt.
‘Your physique can somehow hold within itself… everything.’
“Everything?” What does that even mean? Was I somehow able to eat the entire world or something?
‘It’s not like you’re able to eat the entire world or anything like that.’
My brow broke its shackles and raised even further when the Destiny Scale said that. Did this Destiny Scale just read my inner monologue? Can it do that?
“Then what do you mean? Like what is it able to do, really?” I asked once again. It didn’t seem to have a clear grasp on what to say. I blame this all on the goddess. Like where even is she? Is she still with the family or not?

‘The only thing I can say for sure is that your body is able to assimilate different energy sources. I can say this based on the very reason for your current cultivation method. The method itself isn’t the issue, but when you got afflicted with that lightning punishment back at your home city, the most likely outcome would have been death, especially at your level. With me, you would live, but I would eventually refine it for you so you would be fine, but you actually deconstructed what little was left by yourself and then absorbed it for your own use. Lightning punishment is meant to kill, it is the heavens leaving no way out.’
“I thought it was called lightning tribulation.”
“Lightning tribulation is a trial, and it gives a way to life. You grow from it. The Heavenly Levyance lightning tribulation you now use is the lowest level within this category. However, that incident on the day of your destiny is something called lightning punishment. It is meant to kill, it is not there to help you. It is very similar to the explanation you gave these young ones before. Nonetheless, when you were able to absorb it, it was then that I saw clues regarding this physique of yours. Yet, when I looked deeper within, I saw something even more horrifying.’
The Destiny Scale’s tone took on a more severe bearing as I advised it to continue. I needed to know what abilities I had at my disposal.
‘I think you are able to multi-cultivate. I think you have within yourself the ability to cultivate just about anything and everything under the sun.’
The Destiny Scale went silent after it said this, but that was understandable. I stood there frozen in place for a while as I thought about everything it said to me.
I like this cultivation world a lot, but there were some notable limitations that irked me to no end and one of those was the fact that there was a limit on the cultivation methods that one could practise.
For example, when it came to spiritual cultivation like most humans, they couldn’t dual cultivate a body cultivation technique. The somatic essence and the spiritual qi that either method generated would run rampant within the body and cause one to explode.

There was no shortage of cultivation techniques out there that were created for the sole purpose of experiencing the best of both worlds, but they were a far cry from either of the cultivation methods created specifically for whatever purpose it was created for.
There were unorthodox paths such as that of the xinli spiritualists who cultivated mental energy, or even formation array masters.
Because they cultivated in a way that deviated from the established norm, theoretically, they could choose to cultivate using the spirit cultivation path or the body cultivation path.
But now, the Destiny Scale is saying otherwise. Just how far can I bring this?
‘Truthfully, almost everything about you subverts this world’s established rules and laws. Your body just happens to be able to magic up a way to make everything work together inside. However, you are the one I’ve been waiting for so I’m okay with it.’
“This means that I can actually practise body cultivation methods. Awesome.” Things are finally looking my way even more than they were before.
‘Please don’t haphazardly absorb energy sources from all over the place, you don’t know where they could have been. Also, don’t go about learning and practising every cultivation method you come across. I might not know about your physique but I can’t see this ending well if you do.’
“Noted,” I agreed in this case, since it made sense.
“However, there is one final thing that we need to decide right here, right now.”
‘And that is?’
“A name for this physique. A girl I knew had the Cold Heart True Ice Physique, so I want a cool name too. Pun not intended by the way.”
‘The Cold Heart True Ice Physique has reemerged? Considering that the Di Mings have awakened, the dragons are becoming restless and that you… exist, this generation will be both the best and the worst I’m afraid.’
“What are you talking about?” The destiny scale mentioning that had darker foreshadowing than Shen Ling’s current cultivation status. Pun not intended… okay, maybe a little.
‘Nothing you need to worry about.’
Whoosh!
Before I could react, the Destiny Scale flew out of my body and hovered above the area where everyone was cultivating. Oddly enough, I felt nothing when it was in me, but I feel lighter now that it’s not.
“What are you doing?” I looked up where it was floating soundlessly in the air.
[I will be using a bit of my energy to help these little ones form their cauldron. I left the first chapter of a body cultivation technique from the past in your mind sea. It’s not for you to use it, but for you to take reference from it is all. If my assumption is correct, you simply need to utilise the unique characteristics of your physique to truly awaken it. On that note, have you decided on a name?]
“Thank you for the technique. I needed something like this. As for the name, what do you think of this? I could call it Cell, oh or Majin bu-”
[That sounds horrible.]
“Then you come up with a good name if you’re so good at it.” Sure, I ripped the names from reputable anime, but it didn’t have to blast me like that.
I waited for it to come up with a name since I apparently sucked at naming things. After a while, it trembled and its ancient will rang out once more.
[From henceforth, this physique will be known as the Profound Myriad Heavenseize Physique.]
I stared at it after I heard the name, and couldn’t believe that the glorified rectangle just did that.
“So you just went ahead and declared the name of my physique. This is even worse than someone else peeling off the plastic from your phone screen. Plus, you’re calling it profound? The level of disrespect is what’s really profound around here. My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.”
[You always look disappointed so… does it really matter?]
“Wow.” I shook my head after that comment. “You know what? Fine, we’ll do what you want and call it Profound Cereal Superfreak Physique. I don’t care, I’m going over there to work on my cultivation method.”
I tell ya, these days, nobody gives you respect. Not even the floating ancient sentient steel stele. I mean, if that doesn’t give you respect, then who will?
I walked in a separate direction with my Motown Period Siamese Physique. Who knows? Maybe the name will grow on me.

Old Riding Author Lunatic Asylum
Just off the A19, in the dark, incomprehensible lands known as Yorkshire, there lies a town. A town where shadow-silent alleys glint with the secret hunger of knives. Where blood soaks the chipboard window shutters of forsaken terraces stretching off into the night. Where the smog-choked air rattles with the depraved laughter echoing out from clubs that can only generously be described as post-apocalyptic. Well, that’s Middlesbrough. But down the A19 a bit (an impossibly long way down, actually) there lies another town: Raughnen, in the ancient, forgotten Old Riding. It is an equal match in muggery and thuggery alike. It also has magic spells and pointy wizard hats. And now, across the miles and across all sensibilities, a pretty nasty power (a magic one) calls out for its pretty nasty counterpart (a decidedly unmagic one): a proper sound Boro lad. Nothing good can come of it. This is a collection of one novella and four connected short stories: I. A Yorkshire Summoning II. Old Riding Day Trip (the novella) III. Heaven is a Parmo IV. Death on the 66 V. Death on the 257 In total, this comprises 34 chapters totalling around 35,000 words, so try not to worry. It will be over relatively quickly. There are three more short stories with more tenuous links to the core collection: Rush, Paper Round and Scenario 79: Sausage Fingers, all of which can be found in my collection Short Records of Misadventure. Reading these may allow you to make more sense of certain parts of the story, if any sense is to be made at all. NOTE: There are instances of prejudice and discrimination within these stories, including elements of sexism and ageism, which are purely the thoughts and actions of the characters involved and which certainly do not reflect my own views on these matters. ANOTHER NOTE; A WARNING, PERHAPS: This can get a bit weird. In less than 150 pages, we have four viewpoints, first and third person narratives, and a completely disjointed plot with lots of gaps, dead ends and no real resolution. Also ZERO lunatic asylums. It's all a bit odd. If that sort of thing isn't your cup of tea, which it most likely isn't, it might be best to move on now.
