“Fuck, where have you been. Our dealers are not getting set up with enough product.” A voice from the phone says.
“Man, I left Georgie in charge, didn't I? Taylor dragged me along to accompany a friend. I would have said no, but the asshole demanded it. What a prick, right?” Daryl says with a smile and a wink to Taylor.
“Man, fuck that guy. Thinks he's hot shit now, I guess. And Georgie is fucking useless. I'm sending Frankie over. Just let me know when you'll be back.” The voice says before hanging up.
“Hurry the fuck up, man. We're next.” Richie says somewhat impatiently.
…
…
“Well, it's been fun, my dudes. But my journey has come to an end. I'll see you in the next life. Sayonara losers.” Richie says as he makes his way up the escalator.
“You beautiful bastard. Don't ever change. Stay golden, Ponyboy.” Taylor says as he watches Richie ascend.
“It's too late. He's gone.” Daryl says with a pat to Taylor's shoulder and a shake of his head.
Taylor looks to Daryl with a mischievous grin. “Fuck man, when'd you get so gay.” Taylor says with a laugh.
…
…
“What? Who got shot? Georgie?” Taylor says with a shake of his head. “Why the fuck would I care about that?” Taylor asks.
“Bro, it's your job. It's not my problem that you owe this favor.” Brolly says, which were facts. “You don't have to, but it's a pretty easy one to take care of. Would earn a few points I think.” Brolly says over the phone.
“Whatever. I'm not going to kill over this one. Just saying.” Taylor says, giving in.
“Awesome. It's our delivery dude. He got pissy that Georgie was in charge and shot him. If I'm being honest, Georgie could have calmed down a bit. The power seems to have went to his head a little.” Brolly explains.

“Just give me his address.” Taylor says with a sigh.
“He doesn't live here. You'll have to chase him down.” Brolly says before promptly removing the phone from his face.
“What!? Why the fuck would I chase him down!?” Taylor exclaims over the phone before taking a few breaths. “Do you at least have a whiff of him?” Taylor asks, trying to calm down.
“Yeah, he went down route 90. South. We'll let you know if he stops anywhere else.” Brolly says carefully, not wanting to trigger anyone.
“Fine, I'll pack my things.” He says with a sigh.
…
…
“He's going northwest.”
“Fuck.”
“Maybe speed up a little.”
“Fuck off.”
***BEEP***
…
…
“What he's going further north?” Taylor asks. This was already pretty close to Backwater City.
“Yeah. If you drive overnight you should be able to catch up to him in the morning.” Brolly says.
“Nah. Fuck that. Keep tracking him. I'm going home for a bit.” Taylor says before hanging up.

A Nation of Distances (possibly a dystopian love story)
Michael lives in a toxic macho world with extreme male hierarchy. When he gets a weird rating that makes his place even more problematic he's forced to choose a fiancée at a Wife School, and he slowly discovers more about the other side of the great divide between the sexes in The Nation. If only the world would stop being so complicated... On the other side there's Megan, who's more interested in books than in marriage, and the unpredictable Eliza who seems to have a connection with Micheal already. Will they be able to cross the distance and become friends against all the rules of their own world, or will they just be crushed? Are positive relationships between men and women even possible? And is there a way to change the world or is that just a naive thought of a silly wimp? 'A Nation of Distances' is a slightly dystopian dialogue-heavy drama set in a low sci-fi future setting about the war between the sexes, disconnect and friendship. The genre will fluctuate in between more slice-of-life parts and soft sci-fi drama with possible romantic elements, with alternating lead and switching perspectives once more of the main characters are established. Content Warning: Certain concepts and scenes might be disturbing and/or triggering to some, even though the story itself won't be extremely heavy most of the time. Sexism as a double-edged sword destructive to both sexes is an important part of the story, but so is friendship.Note that all descriptions of persons and places are purely fictional and made up by the writer, and any resemblance with anything in the real world is a coincidence, since the real world is not supposed to be dystopian anyway!

The Epiphany Colony
Brad Asher has been a private detective on the Epiphany Colony orbiting Mars for about a year before stumbling into a conspiracy that threatens the safety and stability of the colony. Note that the story here is the first draft and has a lot of ideas, characters, and plotlines that I ended up dropping in the final version that I released here currently available on Kindle Unlimited. The entire second half was restructured, as I ended up not being satisfied with some of the things that I introduced and felt like it had strayed too far from my initial vision of a space-based detective noir story.
