《Old Cultivation Record》Chapter 2 - Little Bitch

After an early morning drinking session with Taylor, Daryl began to walk. Lost in his lingering thoughts, he didn't watch where he was going; but his body reacted to his thoughts and chose the way for him. When an intersection approached, Daryl's thoughts were pulled to a direction and his body followed faithfully, and when he was feeling brave he would cross the street. He walked through various neighborhoods and sometimes circled back to previous parts of the city, but he continued to walk forward, lost in thought. Eventually, he made it to a highway and he could only walk straight, so he followed through and moved forward.
The day worked differently for vampires; it didn't follow the cycle of the Earth’s rotation, nor did the sun decide whether it was the morning or night. It ended when the work for that day was complete, and they went to sleep left with only lingering problems to welcome them when they awake, or sometimes they day ended when they could no longer push any further, because when nothing can be done, you might as well rest.
So although the light changed to darkness and the darkness turned to light for a few cycles, this was still the morning for Daryl, the newly awakened Vampire Knight, and he still had to figure out what the day had in store for him.
Daryl followed the highway faithfully and didn't make any abrupt changes in direction. He didn't know, but he was slowly making his way further South. As for what he was looking for or what he would find, he wasn't sure.
As the days passed, the vehicles passing by continued to ignore him. They would glance at Daryl walking along the side of the road and wonder what brought him all the way there on his feet, but they didn't stop; they had their own journeys to travel.

But one day, a car pulled over without any indication from Daryl. As the car parked on the side of the road, Daryl gave it a glance before ignoring it and continuing to walk forward. He didn't know why this car had stopped, but it seemed irrelevant to what he was looking for, so he ignored it.
As Daryl walked forward, his back facing the car, a woman exited the vehicle. She stood up and closed the door before looking at Daryl; a bitter smile formed on her face before jogging forward.
“Hey! Hey!” She called out, causing Daryl to pause and turn around.
Daryl's eyes slowly widened at the woman's beauty. Her smooth brown skin and flowing dark hair reminded Daryl of a cappuccino; he very much wanted to take a sip.
Daryl shook his head. Fuck. Just another woman. She can take the next guy; I'm tired… Daryl thinks with some bitterness. Why the fuck is the question always a woman? Isn't there more to life than fucking? Daryl asks no one in particular; a small expression of his frustration.
As if sensing Daryl's thoughts, the woman frowns, but she pushes herself forward.
“This is a long road to walk on your feet and without supplies.” She starts slowly. “How about I give you a lift?” She asks casually, not expecting much from Daryl's demeanor.
Daryl opened his mouth to reject her, but the words got caught in his throat. Fuck, Daryl thought, knowing where this is going to lead. Instincts were driving him to say ‘yes' causing Daryl more frustration.
“Fine. Let's go.” Daryl replies, deciding not to care. He walks to the car without another glance at the woman; depression driving his inconsideration.
The woman lets out some hot air from her nostrils, slightly pissed that she bothered to do this. What a little bitch! She thought to herself.

This is Linodo, the Author. I'm writing this novel as a more light-hearted and 'fun' story compared to my other works. I had a writer's block for my other story and decided to put it on hold while I have some fun with this one.I don't have a release schedule as of yet, but I will try to post as much as I can. It's meant to be a more 'fun' story, so I won't stress too much on making everything too detailed or anything. However, I will continue to ensure that there is a certain quality to this work.I hope you will enjoy "The Magic God Wants A Disciple!"

Saga of the Jewels VOLUME ONE COMPLETE
Prefer to listen to rather than read Saga of the Jewels? I'm also releasing it as a free audibook serial podcast on iTunes here! Epic YA JRPG-influenced GameLit progression ensemble-cast steampunk romance fantasy! When Ryn’s hometown is destroyed, will he be able to gather together the twelve Primeval Jewels in order to defeat the evil Emperor and save the world of Mid? A fan novelization of an amazing Final Fantasy game that doesn’t actually exist, that currently releases at least one chapter a month. Epic in that this will be very long. “It’s a marathon, not a sprint!” (-Kandaj) YA in that this should be enjoyable to~13-year-olds and upwards. Some gore, some swearing, some sex, but nothing more than PG-13. JRPG-influenced / GameLit in that it uses lots of JRPG tropes, particularly from Final Fantasy. I’ve read a lot of fan Final Fantasy novelisations and you can basically think of this as a fan novelisation of its own Final Fantasy game that doesn’t actually exist as a game... Progression in that the characters level up over time (though not with visible litrpg stat boxes). They grow in ability through training and experience, gain new skills, individually and as a party (think Chrono Trigger) and spend time discussing and stratgeising about how to defeat their opponents. Main protagonist from book three would definitely be able to defeat himself from book one! Ensemble-cast because we've got quite the roster of misfits here. The first volume is all from the main protagonist's POV, but it starts dancing between his and different POVs thereafter. Steampunk in that we’ve also got airships, steam trains, pistols and ambiguous ‘amber bars’ that function a bit like artificial lights… Romance in that there is lots of shipping here, a few love triangles, and you may be kept guessing as to who will actually end up together... Fantasy in that we’re in a vaguely pre-modern setting. We’ve got swords, magic, dragons, dungeons, monsters, all that good stuff. * "This story captures that Final Fantasy quality perfectly. Kiddy but also grim. The characters are great... Severely underrated and needs more favorites/follows. I look forward to seeing how this story will unfold." -Gilgamesh9999 "Starting at the end and jumping backwards is not a writing style seen every day. I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical at first, but you've executed a fairly crazy idea very skillfully so far. Overall, a strong start to what could be a very strong story." -RandomFF.netUser "You definitely have my interest piqued. It'll be interesting to see where the story goes... It definitely has an 'old school Final Fantasy' type feel to it, which I appreciate...Good job! I am glad you are going into more details about the story you laid out in the prologue...of course the big burning question is 'You know they lose in the the first chapter, so how will they end up winning?' That of course, is the story you're writing...so we'll see how it goes! #Following." -KyleQuicksilver (quotes are from reviews on other sites) * If you enjoy it, don’t forget to boost Saga of the Jewels on topwebfiction.com! Genso Suikoden: Worlds Collide
The story is set in the Queendom of Falena, the universe of the JRPG game Suikoden V. Though technically a monarchy, the aristocracy holds so much power within Falena that their squabbles and power-plays threaten to de-stablise the whole country. Complicating matters is the presence of the Sun Rune, an royal artifact of apocalyptic power and one of the 27 True Runes in the world of Suikoden. The main character is the Prince of Falena, Freyjadour, who is an unimportant figurehead not in line to the throne. During one of his royal inspections, he meets Natsu, Happy, Gray, and Erza who are a part of an alternate universe (Fairy Tail) and helps them find a way back to their home. Little do they know that it's not only them who came to this world… [This is basically a novelization of the game but with different twists due to the multiple crossovers. Therefore, there is no need to know any of the fandoms involved in this story. This will read like an actual novel itself. The universe and the characters are not owned by me.]
