《Old Cultivation Record》Chapter 17 - Doesn't Hurt

They found a field outside of town. Sylvie and the werewolf chief were standing a decent distance away chatting. Taylor let's out a bitter smile and gets into position.
The three werewolves promptly started taking their clothes off and Taylor's eyes widen. He continues to watch entrance as article after of clothing were removed. Sylvie watches with her mouth open, drool threatening to leak out of her mouth. Eventually, the three werewolves were naked, their sculpted bodies like demigods that had graced the world with their presence.
Taylor’s eyes drift to a certain body part on the three men’s bodies, then his gaze looks down at what was hidden in his pants. As Taylor’s mind makes the comparison, a white hot rage began to build inside of him. I’m going to kill these guys. He thinks, spurred on by his embarrassment.
As Taylor unsheathes his sword, the werewolves began to shift. There was a sixth stage Werewolf Elder and two fifth stage Werewolf Guardians. Their sizes matched their strength but they all towered over Taylor.
“Fuck these guys.” Taylor says with some anger as he rushes forward. Instantaneously, he had rushed several meters forward, and as he approaches a flame engulfs his whole body and his sword. Taylor doesn’t wait for them all to finish transforming and stabs into one of the fifth stage werewolves as he was on the last step of his transformation. The blade plunges into the werewolf’s thick thigh until it completely pierces through as the flame seared at the insides of the werewolf’s leg.
The werewolf lets out a loud roar of anguish and swipes with his claw, but Taylor had already moved back, dragging his sword back from the werewolf’s leg. Taylor smirks. At least it wasn’t your heart. He thinks feeling happy about his successful cheap shot.

“Hey! That’s cheating! You have to play fair, Taylor!” Sylvie yells from the sidelines.
Taylor looks to Sylvie and remembers that she was there to also watch the show. Some insecurity began to bloom within Taylor. “Hey, Sylvie. You know size isn’t everything right?” Taylor calls out, hoping for some comfort.
Sylvie smiles. “Of course, baby. But it certainly doesn’t hurt to have.” She says with a light chuckle.
Taylor lets out a sigh. “We’re going to have to fuck this out later.” He calls out, before refocusing on the fight. The werewolves had finished their transformation.
The sixth stage werewolf led the charge, with the uninjured fifth stage werewolf a short distance behind. The remaining werewolf, hindered by his leg, cautiously approaches, watching carefully for an opening.
Taylor moved his sword to his left hand as the flame on his dominant hand grew larger and larger, until it compressed to an energy fueled bomb. As the werewolves rushed forward, Taylor willed the fireball to shoot forward. The sixth stage werewolf dodges, but immediately realizes his mistake; the injured werewolf was hiding behind him
The fireball lands on the fifth stage werewolf and he lets out a howl as the fireball explodes before wrapping around the werewolf’s body. The flame was relentless and burned all of the werewolf’s fur until he was naked once more. Taylor released his control of the flame and it died out, leaving the werewolf’s burnt body to collapse onto the ground without strength.
“You bastard!” The sixth stage werewolf yells. He pounced forward with an insane speed, and as if he had teleported, he was before Taylor in a moment. Taylor couldn’t react as bulky arm was shot out like a meteor and a fist hit him like a truck. Taylor’s body was sent flying and landed several meters away. He rolled onto the ground as his body cringed, trying to suppress the force from the impact, but at this point there were already internal injuries in Taylor’s body.

“What is this!?” The sixth stage werewolf exclaims as he waves his arm around. The flame on Taylor’s body had somehow attached to his fist and had spread to his arm. His fur had burnt off and the flame was threatening to spread even further. “Ah! Bitch!” The werewolf yells with frustration before rushing forward once more. He wanted to kill Taylor before the flame completely spreads.
Taylor struggles to get up through the pain, but once he stood once more, the sixth stage werewolf had arrived once more and another fist had shot forward, landing on Taylor’s face, pushing him back in the air as his body twirled around from the impact.
“God dammit!” The werewolf yells, as he feels himself running out of time. The flame had spread to his chest and the flames were licking his face. I’m going for your throat next time, bitch! The werewolf decides with determination. But before he could move forward again, the fifth stage werewolf had arrived before Taylor and punted his body into the air with a gruesome kick. Taylor was sent flying back a large distance away.
The sixth stage werewolf’s eyes widen. “Idiot! Stop pushing his body back!” The werewolf yells with anger. “Ah, fuck!” He exclaims has the flames on his body grew once more, engulfing his whole upper body and face. The flames were biting and burning deep and he knew that it wouldn’t be long before the flame killed him. “I give, I give! Put the flame out!” The sixth stage werewolf yells out to Taylor.
Taylor weakly stands up. His body beaten and broken. He no longer had the energy to continue the fight. “Tell your friend to give up too.” He says shamelessly with a weak voice.
“Asshole! Why don’t you beat him like a man!” The sixth stage werewolf yells with frustration.
“Do it or we both die.” Taylor says with a grin. Checkmate, bitches. He thinks, happy with the results.
“Put it out. We forfeit.” The Werewolf Chief steps forward to say. He let out a sigh. This asshole slipped through our fingers. Sorry, grandson. If fate is good to us, hopefully he’ll die during this tribulation. He thinks with some reluctance.
Taylor trusted the chief’s words and let the flame on the sixth stage werewolf die out. He let out a sigh of relief. Taylor 1, well-endowed werewolves 0. He thinks, trying to comfort himself.

The Queen's Guard
Friedrich Schreiner is a proud gefreiter of the Queen's Guard, 2nd Company: the finest fighting infantry on the continent (barring the Temple Guard; but please don't bring that up). Service is honourable but, with the Empire on a peacetime footing, terribly boring. Affairs take a dramatic turn for the worse when a mysterious invader uses a forgotten and taboo magical means to breach the capital, plunging the nation into chaos and endangering the royal family. With events spiraling out of control, Friedrich is entrusted with a critical mission. Will hot lead, cold steel, and his determination be enough to see him through? The Queen's Guard is what I'm calling a black powder fantasy story: it's set in a loose equivalent of the early 18th century (plus or minus a few pieces I decided I wanted or didn't want). Magic exists, but not in a spell-slinging sort of way: it's Earth-shaking undertakings or minor enchantments forged in by master craftsmen, the grand working of a secretive cabal or a slight nudge to the course of a blow. I, the eternal optimist, have a full trilogy in mind. The first book is The Prince's Arquebusier, hence the cover and the title disagreeing! This is my shot at 2021's NaNoWriMo and RR Writathon! I've hitherto been terrible at writing long-form fiction, so this is an effort to break out of that by having some accountability in being supposed to post chapters regularly. Here's hoping it works! I have an outline, but not too much detail. I'll do my best to avoid continuity errors, doing anything glaringly stupid, or otherwise fluffing my lines, but I can't make any promises on that. Please do let me know any feedback! Always happy to improve. [participant in the Nov 2021 Royal Road Writathon challenge]
