《Spirit Reincarnation》Chapter 15

“Check for any enemies scouting the area.” Mili ordered one of the people with assassin as their class.
“Roger.”
He disappeared like the wind when he stepped into the shadows.
The base was right in front of us. Mili brought a mana disruption tool to mask the senses of the people that are sensitive to mana. The good thing is that it works, the bad thing is that it works too good that it’s messing with my detection too. I’m guessing that it’s an artifact.
“I will be your eyes, master. Please focus on the task.” Undine’s voice flowed into my ears. She started responding to my calls four days ago and said that it took time for her to locate my whereabouts through the spirits.
The blue haired beauty was flying next to our group unbeknownst to them.
We silently crept our way to the enemy base while preparing our attacks. Mili had a scary expression on her face. It’s understandable because her own village’s people were kidnapped under her rule.
The spell she was chanting and casting had wind, fire and water attribute attached to its foundation. She has been living for hundreds of years so I’m not surprised that she’s capable of that.
“Get ready.” She spoke to me.
“Oh, right.”
I decided to go with a wind related spell since we don’t know where the hostages are being kept. Mega Typhoon. The spell creates a huge tornado and then multiple tornados if I want to do AOE damage.
Mili’s eyes opened wide before she smiled.
“I was right to bring you along. I’ll synchronize my second spell with yours.”
“Yes.”
“Madam, look.” Our archer pointed to a direction.
“A cage?”
Cages are meant to keep things confined so the girls might be in there.

“I smell one of my kin too.”
The large cat tribe demihuman who was at the front said in a whisper.
‘There’s another demihuman?’
Demihumans have been living in the shadows ever since the Beastman–Human war that happened 50 years ago.
Demihumans are treated as pests like people were in my previous world in the 1900’s. I guess the only thing unique about this world is its fantasy. Discrimination against beast tribes have caused many to suffer or fall to slavery.
Mili’s expression turned even more severe as her chanting hastened.
The assassin waved from the other side of the open plain and took out four guards when our leader gave the command.
“Now, Clyde-kun!”
“Roger! Mega Typhoon!”
A huge tremor ran through the ground before the wind in the surroundings gathered when I lifted my staff.
The air vibrated as the trees rattled and shook violently. I felt the familiar sensation of mana being sucked out of my body.
–I will help.
Undine’s spirits spun violently around the tornado, further strengthening it.
“Uwaa!!”
“W-What is that!?”
The enemies screamed and prepared for battle but froze when they looked at my spell.
‘It’s really large.’
“Haa!”
I threw the spell at the enemy camp.
The entire forest shook.
Their tents flew away along with a few that couldn’t grab something in time.
BOOM
BOOM
Mili threw her massive trio spell causing huge explosions. Her water dragon merged with my typhoon and caused huge destruction to their camps.
A cacophony of noises rang out as explosive barrels were also thrown towards the enemies and shot with arrows. Upon impact, the explosions created a chain reaction. The skilled village warriors managed to avoid causing damage to the carriage cages keeping people hostage.
◇◇◇
“Phew… that took a lot out of this old body.”

Mili wiped her brow and drank water.
“Thanks for your help, Clyde-kun.”
She patted my shoulder before walking to the girls that were kidnapped.
I wiped the dirt from my staff as I watched the wholesome reunion.
Many of the ones that helped, slumped down to rest. We had to wait since a few enemy strays ran away. Most of the warriors went to go catch them.
It took a few hours before we were ready to go.
“We’ll be moving out after salvaging their supplies. If they have any left.” Mili commanded with a loud voice to everyone.
..
While everyone was resting in the carriage, we finally arrived back at the village.
“Clyde-sama!”
In the distance I saw Charlotte running from the chief’s house with a big basket of vegetables she might’ve picked.
“Where were you?”
A cold voice came from behind me. I turned around and saw Arielle looking at me with calm eyes. Her calm face is far scarier than her angry one.
“A-Arielle…”
“Next time ask us if it’s alright to just leave us here! A man barged into my room when I was asleep!”
‘No, no. The guy can’t do anything to you with your strength.’
“Clyde-sama must be tired. I’ll draw you a bath.”
Charlotte said in a monotonous voice and went to the back of the house.
I kept persuading Arielle that I’ll make it up to her until she finally agreed on what I should do. Looks like I’m hunting monsters with her yet again.
**
“Here.”
A big bag of coins was put on the table. Mili smiled.
“This is your payment for your help.”
“I-Isn’t this too much?” I examined the bag and found a lot of copper and silver coins in it.
“Too much? Hahaha! Your display of magic was worth far more than this. I apologize if it’s too little for your travels.”
“N-No.”
I bowed my head respectfully.
I asked Charlotte and Arielle when they want to leave. They said that tomorrow will be fine since they still have to finish their assigned tasks. They are really a pair of diligent ladies.
