There had been a theory amongst the surviving tacticians, that the reason Lord Sezrath had not commanded an attack on Vancalar was that the orcs and vampires were of the same mind and belief system. But that idea was soon shattered by the news of war as the Primes of Vanclar invaded Orkeylium, and launched a targeted assault against the goblin breeding camps, which were then turned and used against them.
The kindred (children of the vampires.) spreading their vampirism like a plague to infect thousands of goblins, and other vulnerable races as they stalled Warlord Magorbark’s campaign. Forcing him to return his attention home, summoned his warhordes, and attempt to quash the disease in its infancy, but with each passing day, the kindred would continue to grow in number with the Primes sneaking their forces deeper inland to establish hunting ground to build their numbers.
If not for the resilience of the orcish people and their ultimate weapons the berserkers and iron skins, the vampires would have won the war, there and then. But as per usual, Magorbark swiftly realising the situation, used his mages and shamans to establish powerful magical barrier to corral the spread of the disease, cutting off the vampires and surrounding them in a great barrier that spanned the whole of Vanclar and parts of Orkeylium. Magorbark then let loose his most experienced warhorde commanders to begin cleansing the lands of both vampires and slaves to ensure they would not spread any further.
With no way to get out and their battle fodder being killed off one by one, the Primes of Vanclar were forced into the field themselves, wielding their dark arts to battle the orcish warhordes in a dozen battles that left both sides the poorer. The older generational vampires proving to be more than a match for the berserkers, while their own frontline warriors the demaval were at least able to hold the regular orc grunts back, who by now were killing machines that had years of battle experience under their belts.

However with the dark mages and shamans forced to maintain such a powerful spell to hold so many inside, Warlord Magorbark had to rely solely upon the towers and warhordes to establish footholds in Vanclar and hunt down the many covens that were spread throughout the land, whereas the Primes were free to bring everything they had against them.
Still with high stakes such as this, both sides soon realised the importance of the towers in this war with several attempts by the vampires to try and seize one, which forced Magorbark to be more cautious when deploying them in the field to relay information, bring in reinforcements and supply his forces with the meat to continue their campaign. Eventually Magorbark realised, all he need do anymore, since he had stripped the land clean of slaves was to pull back behind the barrier and wait for them to starve to death.
Trapped without anyone to feed upon, the vampires used every single magic at their disposal to try and free themselves, but even with hundreds of powerful vampires amongst their ranks, they were no match for the dark mages of bloodtides, nor the thousands of shamans that gave up their lives to hold up the barrier.
Cut off, starving, minds lost in delirium, the vampires quickly turned on each other, culling their own numbers by half, when an event that would later be known as the End. Triggered a series of cataclysmic events that shook the very foundations of the world.
The Mother had Awoken.

Elizabeth Wilson commits suicide. She was the golden girl among her peers in Darkwood, Washington who stood above the pressure of her drug-ridden town. Explore the summer before her senior year that triggered the domino effect of Elizabeth's emotional and psychological breakdown that lead her to take her own life. This is the prequel to the main story, Petrichor and was never intended to be made. I wrote this because I wanted to explore Elizabeth's character and show how the main characters have changed since this event. In the meantime, I'm writing a side story called Mourning Glory that takes place between the second and third act of Petrichor.
