Episode 53 - The Aftermath 2 ‘Without a shed of blood’

Xenperia closing their borders without informing the countries surrounding them raised a lot of questions, after all, they were allies in the same continent. Moreover, there were multiple reports of Xenperian envoy ships heading out of and in Xenperia which further brought unease to the Continent of Liasel.

Since no one could enter Xenperia, they were left with no other choice but to send out countless bird envoys demanding answers, however before they could receive a single reply, Xenperia all of a sudden decided to open up their borders. Sending messengers in person to inform them of all the happenings that took place, and the attempted assassination on their Crown Prince.

This sudden situation made every single person in the continent go from being uneasy seeing their friend turning introverted all of a sudden, to being annoyed that they were ignored no matter what they did, to being flabbergasted that their introvert-turned -friend suddenly opened their doors and became an extrovert once again like nothing ever happened. Of course the last emotion they settled on was mutually being angry that such a thing happened to their great old friend; also sending military envoys to the Southern country to back Xenperia up!

When that happened, the whole world naturally found out what had happened and because of that, the very small country where the ‘princess’ came from was under an intense amount of pressure. It was as if the whole world was watching their every move, waiting for them to make a mistake and to gobble them up as a whole...

Not just that, because of their friendship treaty with Xenperia 7 years ago, the military base that was put there by Xenperia also upped their defense. Being scared to death that because of this incident, Xenperia would break their friendship treaty and not put them under their protection, the small country completely destroyed the noble family and confiscated all their assets. Shipping off the destroyed noble family to Xenperia along with many envoys of their own to beg for mercy.

United West Liasel then announced and held a major conference with the respective representatives of the countries in Liasel to settle and resolve the matter against the small country together. The reason they all came together was that they were afraid that Xenperia would wage war against the small country and destroy the world peace that took them many years and an incredible effort to secure.

The representatives who attended the conference were prepared to put a lock on Xenperia and were prepared to spend many days to talk them out of it. Yet before they could do such a thing, an unexpected situation they had not anticipated occurred. And that was, Xenperia and the small country already reading a settlement beforehand! The settlement greatly shocked and brought envy between the representatives.

Many stated that Xenperia was too extreme and reckless however what can they do but lay low. United West Liasel was only worried about war after all! The conference which they had expected to last for weeks ended up ending in a mere 2 hours with the representative being incredibly caught off guard and unable to do anything but return to their own respective country.

The settlement that not only shocked United West Liasel but shocked the whole world is as followed:

-Because of the degree of the incident, the small country that lies in the turf of the Southern continent and raised the villainous lady, agrees to wholeheartedly have the whole country surrendered to Xenperia.

-The country is not obliged to pay the Southern continent any tax. (Including, Importation tax, and Exportation tax.)

-The country will be for Xenperia to govern and will follow the Xenperian law; the Southern continent will have no right to control, interfere, or handle the country’s affairs from now onwards. If this clause is found violated, Xenperia will have all the rights to enforce military might to the party responsible.

This transaction to hand over the small country called Serv took as little as a week to complete. This small country lies near the great big sea, at the edge of the Southern Continent, and was not at all considered a developing country. They were in fact doing quite poorly in that regard which was why the Southern Continent gave this small country to Xenperia without any hesitation. If this could also prevent Xenperia and United West Liasel from attacking the Southern continent, this was just a small sacrifice they had to make to survive.

Although this proved to be quite a shocker, leaders around the world could do nothing but watch it all happen. They too would hand over a country without hesitation if this could prevent attacks from United West Liasel.

Very quickly, 100,000 soldiers sailed to Serv and took over the small country. No riots or protests occurred as people in the country quickly came to accept the fact that they were abandoned; quickly hugging the huge thighs of Xenperia. And slowly after that, the world started to go on about their days, the attempted assassination on the Crown Prince of Xenperia slowly being buried in the back of their minds as they carried on their own lives…
