Episode 57 - Tears of healing 3 ‘A Fluffy Day!’

A Serv Update:

Everything outside of Xenperia was smooth sailing. The 100,000 soldiers who were sent to Serv, settled in peacefully. Villagers and the soldiers were reported to have been getting along really well, some even going along with soldiers to patrol around the border around Serv. A few soldiers were dispatched to sea in search of marine life, and as expected, they were able to find tons! This led them to immediately import Marine goods into Xenperia and also make trade deals with Serv’s neighboring countries. Obviously, this led to a lot of profits flying into the pockets of Xenperia and Serv and establishing Serv as an up-rising country. The southern continent could of course only watch in horror as this was happening in plain sights….

3 months since the incident at the Imperial Palace...

You know fall is approaching when leaves are slightly turning brown, older leaves falling down with the slightest breeze as they leave their stems standing. Time was really a strange thing, passing by in a blink of an eye. Eugene and Euria who were prematurely born on Moniqua’s 7th term were growing bigger and bigger, although they were still smaller than their brothers when they were at that age, it was still astonishing how the two who were the size of a palm when they were born were now bigger than Moniqua’s forearm. But seeing such changes brought much happiness and liveliness to many people because to them, the twins were a gift from heaven and also a miracle.

However, the changes in the twins also meant their older brother’s getting older. Education was compulsory in Xenperia when children turn 10 years. This meant that there are only 2 years left until Louis boards his school and leaves the Veria estate. Sweet yet bitter, is how you would describe time. People were happy that the children were growing, yet at the same time, sad as there was only a little time left to spend as a whole family.

With only 2 years left until Louis and Aedelak leave for school, Moniqua decrees a ‘Spend-2-hours-together-as-a-family-daily’ law in the Veria household. To make as many memories as they could together, she requested for Louis to spend more time with his siblings, rather than spending time studying all day. This of course was rejected by Louis at first, claiming he did not want to be left behind by his peers. --BUT WHAT LEFT BEHIND?!?-- Louis was clearly studying what people aged 10 and over were studying, so what did he mean by not wanting to be ‘left behind’?!? After being severely scolded by Moniqua, Louis had no choice but to spend 1.5 hours with his siblings every day; managing to reduce 30 minutes...

With that being done and dealt with, today for the sake of making memories together, the Veria family decided to go on a family picnic, seeing as it was a perfect day to go out. Even though the picnic was only at the Veria estate, the servants still had to spend all their mornings busily packing for their masters. The twins dressed up beautifully in their blue frizzly dress with yellow sunflower embroidery. Their hair (less than 200 strands) was tied up into two pigtails followed by wearing a headband matching their dress; the two looked incredibly cute for today’s outing!

Eugene and Euria were sitting up without support on large picnic cloth as the Veria family stared at the two shining girls. They were really sparkling, especially their heads that were mostly bald from little hair. Since last month, Eugene was able to sit perfectly without the support and was very much able to communicate her wants and needs with people. Nodding her head for yes, and shaking her head for no! This made the Veria household turn upside down every time Eugene did something.

Although Euria was able to sit like Eugene without any assistance, it was only recently that she was able to do so. No one except Eugene knew but for a whole month, since Eugene was able to sit up, Euria's eyes have been pouring out flames of envy! This made Euria incredibly motivated to learn how to be as cool as her elder sister! The reason why she wasn’t able to sit up as fast as Eugene was because she had no prior knowledge of how to control her limbs, hence why she was slower than Eugene. If she had known the body tricks like Eugene, she would have also been able to master sitting without support last month because of the strong genes she got from Levis and Moniqua!

As for communicating with people, she has only learned how to shake her head when she dislikes something!

“Louis”

A spine chilling baby voice spoke out in perfect English. This made everyone turn towards Eugene whose hands were being held and chewed on by Euria who was also starring at Louis in a ‘You-Peasant’ look.

Of course, progress had to be made following the attempted assassination of the Crown Prince. Eugene was only able to practice strengthening her tongue by sticking her tongue out for a certain amount of seconds and then repeating by holding her tongue out in other directions. Not only that, but she would also practice saying things out loud with a toy blocking her mouth, a technique she learned as a child actress to pronounce her lines clearly by using wine cork. This, of course, was also copied by Euria who wanted to play with Eugene…

“Yes.”

Louis answered Eugene’s call without glancing at her baby-self, focusing on reading his book.

“Louii!”

Euria shook her head, also calling out to her elder brother. Although not as perfect as Eugene’s pronunciation, she was getting there.

“Yes”

Louis replied, catching Euria who seemed to be waving at him with her whole body with the corner of his eyes.

“Louis”

Eugene repeated again, this time pointing towards the book Louis was reading. She had nothing else to do and also wanted to pass away time, so what else was better to do than to read? The picture books Moniqua prepared in front of her was too childish for her 25-year-old self but the book Louis was holding seemed more interesting!

Deliberating for a second, Louis glanced towards Euria, briefly showing a look of disgust on his eyes, before rejecting Eugene’s request. “No.”

He shifted his body around so that he wasn’t sitting facing the twins, and started to read again. It wasn’t that he minded Eugene ‘pretending’ to read his book, but it was Euria Louis was conscious of. These days, Euria has been putting many things inside her mouth and biting everything all day, and the last thing he wanted was for her to dirty his books, hence why he rejected Eugene.

“....”

Eugene snapped her head towards the baby beside her and glared at her! She knew that she should have practiced pronouncing things without Euria! Because now, Euria has been taking their night training and practicing during the day! When the sun is out! Of course, most normal functioning people would think Euria is at the age where babies were plainly messing around!!

Sensing something wrong with Eugene, Euria quietly called out...

“...Neia?”

Staring at Eugene with her two red eyes, wondering what in the world she did wrong to have offended her dear sister.
