《Divine Empress of Chaos》Chapter 4

The second floor of the pagoda was beyond her expectation. Paper lanterns dangled in the air, casting an ethereal glow over the entire area. Door panels made of red sandalwood were intricately designed as it divided the place into multiple rooms. The hallway was sophistically decorated. Bamboo trees and exotic plants were aligned in accordance to the philosophical system of harmonization known as feng shui.
But what was truly breathtaking was the grand kitchen, shrouded in glimmers of gold as it stood out with its magnificence. Exquisite craftsmanship of a pair of dancing dragons adorned the arch kitchen door. Rows after rows of numerous dishes filled with divine delicacies were displayed; each one more scrumptious than the previous. Genuinely a dazzling sight to behold!
Doubts entered Yu Liang’s eyes. First floor was a purgatory of massacre and the second level was comparable to the accession into the immortal realm. The difference between the two were as wide as heaven and earth!
One must always remain vigilant upon entering unknown territory. She diligently perused her environment; clearing her befuddled mind. After all, it was plausible they had been lured into a zone of illusions.
A puffed of smoke appeared before the crowd, revealing Guardian Cao. “You will all choose a room to rest for the night. Food and other necessities will be directly served to you. The second trial will begin at the first ray of sunrise.”
She lightly paused, before giving an ambiguous smile. “All the food and beverages here are infused with divine spiritual energy, greatly beneficial for your cultivation; however, too much of anything is bad. Don’t eat more than what was given to you.” With a slight wave of her sleeve, Guardian Cao once again vanished.
Guardian Cao, ah Guardian Cao! To leave immediately after announcing such a great speech, do you perhaps not see how many pair of greedy eyes were already fixated toward the kitchen, as saliva began to pool from the corner of their mouth?
Yu Liang smirked. Such temptations were irrelevant to her since she had zero foundation for cultivation, but the same couldn’t be said for the others. For the mass of chosen individuals to be reduced to such a gluttonous state, was a spectacular wonder.

Huo Wei Hu diverted his attention to the girl since the moment he traveled through the transportation field. As if feeling his hot gaze on her, she swiveled toward his direction. Their eyes met for a few seconds until a reddish tint invaded her fair skin. She quickly ducked her head and hastily dashed into one of the rooms.
A soft feather tickled across his heart as his eyes filled with humor. Interesting! Haha, very amusing! Huo Wei Hu silently laughed.
Dark clouds appeared on his face the next instant. The young boy she was with had chased after her and entered the same room. An ominous glint surfaced in his eyes. The temperature dropped several degrees. A terrifying tyrannical aura was emitted. Unfortunate bystanders caught in the storm, quickly abandoned their quest to steal from the kitchen, as they submissively tucked their tail and ran, shedding silent tears over the loss of rare delicacies.
Yu Liang berated herself in disbelief for continuously acting out of character whenever that devil was involved! The invasive blush had already retreated by the time Yu Tian bombarded through the door, soundlessly panting from chasing after her.
She tactfully avoided his inquisitive gaze by offering an apologetic smile. Thankfully, a petite servant girl with hair tied adorably into two little buns, interrupted the awkward atmosphere. Carrying a tray of food, consisting of two bowls of bird nest soup accompanied by two ambrosial lotus buns, she fluently placed them on the table, along with two fresh sets of clothing before appropriately withdrawing.
As the heavenly aroma drifted into their nose, both of their neglected stomach growled loudly in complaint. The two of them glanced at each other before breaking into a silly grin, sharing the fortune of embarrassment together.
Yu Liang gently rubbed his head and complained with a wry face, “no matter how delectable the cuisines before us are, I just can’t stomach it until I bathe. I’ll be back soon.”
He nodded his head in agreement as she went behind the folding wall divider to prepare her bath. Knowing Yu Tian was waiting for her to dine together, Yu Liang cleansed herself as quickly as possible; however, the grit and raw snake meat still took a while to remove from her hair.

A loud clang shocked her momentarily. Immediately reaching for the set of clean garments provided by the host, she carelessly wrapped them over herself before sprinting out from behind the folding wall divider.
Broken cups and dishes littered on the floor, together with the content of the soup. An arrogant female, with snowy white complexion glared at her. In her hands, held two lotus buns. Yu Tian stood to the side, a bloody cut blemished his adorable face.
Yu Liang’s expression turned ugly. This woman was simply too hateful! Her right hand moved for her dagger, only to realize she left it behind the folding wall screen while bathing. Controlling the fury in her heart, she stared icily at the intruder.
“This lady, there are no grievances or hatred between us. For what reasons could you possibly have to barge into our private room causing a huge commotion and injuring my brother?” Yu Liang spat each word out with difficulty, the animosity behind them were hard to conceal.
The woman face turned ashen. “No grievances or hatred? Yu Liang, you shameless woman! How brazen of you to tried and seduce the man I, Yan Xia got my eyes on!”
She furrowed her brows in annoyance. “Lady Yan Xia, your desperate actions right now is not only inappropriate for a young maiden, but a huge disrespect to the heavenly chef who personally cooked these dishes for the contestants, only to have you thoughtlessly destroyed them. Such conduct and behavior is hardly befitting for a cultivator invited to the divine chaos pagoda.”
Yan Xia complexion redden in anger, before stomping her foot and smugly replied, “Do you think you’re still a young maiden? For a mortal your age, you are no more than an old unmarried woman even if you have high cultivation. In what way can you compete against me?”
The corner of Yu Liang’s lips twitched. The troublesome miss before them had mistakenly assumed she was a human practitioner with a high level cultivation, but this was a perfect advantage for her.
“Lady Yan Xia must be mistaken. As a mere mortal, I am currently only twenty. Compared to you who only retained youthfulness on the surface, but in reality must be no less than a few hundred or even thousand years old witch, I could still be considered a young maiden. To be so ancient and still unmarried, I’m guessing no man can stomach such an old hag” She retorted with clear mockery in her voice.
The old witch eyes were filled with disdained as she took their two ambrosial lotus buns and angrily left.
Feeling extremely wronged, Yu Liang cursed. If she knew ogling at that handsome man in red would bring about such trouble, she would have gouged her eyes out. She finally understood now what people meant when they said beauty was the core of all disasters.
Luckily, the rooms came equipped with tools for treating wounds. This whole farce was probably created to allow them to recuperate after the previous merciless butchery that wiped out more than half of the original contestants. If everyone were to be eliminated here and now, wondered how they could possibly answer to the one in charge. Without wasting another second, she gathered all the materials and began to meticulously treat Yu Tian’s injury.
“Debts of gratitude will be repaid and wrongs must be avenged. What that woman did today, I will repay her back ten folds!” She softly said to him, her voice laced with grief and fury.

But when an object of great and malevolent power promises to make good on all the promises the mages broke to him Mar is thrust into the world of magic. Mar will find that fate had something more than a life confined to the library planned for him after all. Authors Notes: I consider this to be a comming-of-age Sword and Sorcery story based mostly on the style of classic western fantasies. So if that's your thing then I encourage you to take a peek. Something I want to mention though is that the main character starts of pretty wimpy, and that might not be your thing. That being said, if you stick with him he's got a long way to grow. Also, while this version of the story is meant to be fully readable, more dicerning readers may want to wait until I move out of rough draft phase. There may be some inconsistancies with character and plot while I am still in the rough draft phase. I'm sorry for this, but this is my first web novel and from what I've read the best way to get a good novel out is to write write write, and then edit ruthlessly after you're finished with the book, so that's the plan I'm going to follow. Again, this is a rough draft. Everything you are reading is subject to change, including the name, title, and cover photo. This may no longer be the case once I've decided I know where this fiction is going and I have a reasonable understanding of the characters and their behavior. You're reading what comes off my keyboard as it's made, with very limited editing. There will be mistakes in the text. I do a quick spell check to take out the worst of the errors, but there will be some I miss. You can point them out in the comments if they are particularly confusing or glaring and I will try to fix them, however I am not overly concerned about minor errors as this is not the final draft by any means.

Grumbo (Grian x Mumbo) Fanfic
Okay so I need to point out a few things. 1. I only ship the characters Grian and Mumbo, not Charles and Oli. This means that I am just shipping fictional characters. Basically, I ship Grian and Mumbo (as real live people) but not as Charles and Oli. (hopefull that makes sense)2. I don't ship a sexual relationship between them, for those who don't know, I don't write things like that, and I also don't generally like that. 3. This is most likely gonna include other hermitcraft characters, (again, the characters, not the actual people who play the characters) but none will be in any relationships they'll just be the friendly background people and friends. Rankings: #1 in grianxmumbojumbo#3 in hermitcraft7#15 in Mumbo (out of 494 stories)This story will be taken down if any hermits related to the story state they are uncomfortable with being a part of shipping/fanfiction (or names will be changed, depending on the person). If either Grian or Mumbo states they are uncomfortable with being shipped the story will be taken down immediately! I think that's it... well, enjoy the story!
