《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Beginnings - Part Seventy-Two

Elysif sat against the right side of her bed. Her knees were close to her head and her arms were wrapped around them. She hated this feeling. The feeling that she had already lost someone or she was about to. Sadly she knew the feeling all too well. Everyone who cared for her seemed to disappear like she was cursed.
She didn’t want anyone else to disappear. She had convinced herself that Scott was immune to the curse due to his body being as it is, but no matter what she did, the curse that she had believed followed her was always going to take people from her. It’s not as if a curse really existed but rather, it is a curse created in order to place blame on. There were no heroes in her past so she didn’t expect one to come now. However that didn’t stop her from asking.
“Please, someone, bring him back to us.”
A knock at the door startled her for a moment before she heard Scott’s voice. “Elysif, you in there. I think I have a lead.” she got up and scurried to the door.
“What kind of lead?” she asked, opening the door.
“Were you… crying?”
“N-no.” she stammered.
“Anyways, there’s an old barber who lives at the edge of Whitechapel. Iscarat said that he thinks Lou might be there based on the energy reading. We should check it out.”
“Well then what are we waiting for?”
“You. Also Iscarat said not to get our hopes up because he isn’t sure how accurate it is.”
“So you really think I would do that?”
“Yes, I do.” He said as he walked out towards the door to the building with Elysif in tow.

“Do you feel up to it now?” The Masked one asked. He looked a little worn out but my body didn’t want to respond. In the world of stars there is no such thing as pain so I always forget about my traumas as well as my physical pain by the time I returned to the real world. Thus, my body felt numb and everything in my head was screaming.
“I w-want t-to help y-you.” I stammered out.
“Good, now take me to the one I need to save.”
“F-first you must d-destroy my watch.” I stuttered.
“Your watch?”
“I believe it’s the catalyst for my power.”
“Alrighty then, take me to the one I love in the year 1054 AD.” he said, picking up the cleaver. As he did I thought of the apartment and everything that was there. The couch and my bed. The empty as well as half-full bottles of rum thrown all over the place. The bookcase which despite never getting used has never once seen a speck of dust. The masked one brought the cleaver down on the watch. It shattered along with my forearm.
The feeling of passing through time could only be described as enthralling. My body felt as though it had turned to dust in a similar fashion to that of any monster. I passed into the world of stars momentarily then I saw the apartment or at least it’s floorboards. I fell face first into the floorboards and sent several empty rum bottles flying away from me.
“Ow, next time I have to figure out how to land on the bed.” I said to myself. I started to push myself up when I realized I couldn’t feel my hand. It was gone. “Come on grow back.” I said and when I finished saying that the bones started forming. Once it was completely healed I scooted over against the wall beside the door and started chuckling to myself.

“How far ahead did I go?” I asked myself, realizing that I may have been gone longer than I thought. To add to that I was barely wearing any underwear and if they walked in on a naked Lou thinking I was gone I don’t know what would happen. The apartment didn’t look all that different though so maybe I haven’t been gone too long?
I guess I’ll find out eventually. I’m just glad to be back and away from that psycho. However if I see him again, I will rip him apart and make him wish that he was dead just like he did to me. I couldn’t help but smirk at my own thoughts. The idea of payback was intoxicating. I was feeling like my mind was becoming twisted. Like now that I was free I could pay him back ten fold. My revenge was going to have to wait though because I heard the door begin to open.

His eyes had turned bloodshot and his hands shook with rage. “The first thirty…” “Shut up!” Genzo bellowed “How dare you help these disrespectful gaijin?” Flecks of spit and madness flew from his face, his fist raised ready to strike. But Emi did not flinch, instead she was about ready to continue when Yuma Takeuchi interrupted her. “Uchida, please,” her sweet sounding words could melt ice. “I think we will have a better chance of getting home if we all work together.” When she glanced up with her sleepy looking eyes at Genzo Uchida he deflated visibly. “Were not getting home.” Uchida said coolly. “Group summoning, large, that puts us in the 60 series. No one came to greet us after five minutes of arrival. That leaves scenarios 68 and 69. In scenario 68 there is something that binds the large group together; they are all classmates or a single family. But thanks to the gaijin” he spit out the word “I think we are scenario 69 with no way home.” Ikko Inoue’s eyes went wide, while Katsukno and Hayata started muttering to themselves. Tim took on a serious look and rubbed his scruffy chin. Emi maintained her stoic expression while trying to find something to refute. McKenzie glanced at Randall and giggled. Randall took the prompting of his teammate and followed up by approaching Genzo. “Uh, so we are in a sixty-nine?” “Yes.” Replied Genzo with the seriousness of someone who’s life was about to end. McKenzie covered her mouth and snickered. “You and me, were stuck in a sixty-nine situation?” Randall pushed with a grin. “Yes, we are all stuck in a sixty-nine scenario together!” Genzo retorted in anger. McKenzie fell on her butt laughing. “What the hell is so funny?” Demanded Genzo, whose face had turned red. “It’s a problem with the automatic translation.” Retorted Tim. Randall, who seemed unable to quit started in again “So, about this sixty-ni…” Genzo interrupted Randall with a swift punch to the face. But, because of their height difference it was a bit of an uppercut that left Randall rattled. Tim and Ikko moved to step in between the two, but Genzo showed no further hostility. Instead he just stared at his clenched fist with such intensity it grabbed the attention of the room. “I unlocked a skill.” He said bluntly. ***************************** This is not a light novel, but people who like light novels should enjoy the themes of this book. ***************************** A Map of the Region
