“Well, I guess I better deal with this barrier.” The masked man said, looking at Iscarat who was too busy chanting to notice. He began walking towards him but as he passed by Scott’s body he was stopped. Scott had grabbed his ankle.

“I see that you’re still conscious. You must be in so much pain and yet you bear it so well.” the masked man said, kicking away his hand. “However, I don’t need you alive do I?”

As he said this an explosion of gas covered him and Scott. The masked man coughed and wheezed. He grabbed his throat and ran out of the smoke. Scott fumbled his way out of the smoke as well with a cloth covering his mouth and nose.

“You may be immune to physical attacks on the outside but what about on the inside.” Scott said.

“W-what was that?” the masked man coughed out.

“A burning smoke bomb that Elysif made for me. I have plenty to spare so I hope your lungs are ready.”

“You are an absolute pain.” The masked man said before running in the opposite direction towards one of the alleys that one of Elysif’s familiars was guarding. Scott stood a little bewildered that he just decided to run away rather than fight despite having such an advantage. The masked man was nearing the alley when I latched my body onto him like a strange octopus.

“Where did you come from? I thought you were unconscious.”

“I almost was but remember that you tortured me so much that that small amount of pain means nothing to me. I was just waiting for you to take your eyes off me.” I said as I pulled the pin on one of Elysif’s smoke bombs. He cried out in pain between violent coughs.

“Why you little.” he coughed out before punching me in the face. The impact was strong enough to knock me off him. Then another strike from his fist broke my jaw. Scott charged forward and struck him in the chin. There wasn’t much of an affect.

“You already tried that and it didn’t work. What difference is it going to make now. Are you really dumb enough to try the same attack another time in hopes of another result?”

“No, I just needed to stay still long enough.”

“What for. This barrier stops magic other than that of runes so what other than that gas could stop me?”

“The Dimensional Demon Sorcerer.”

“What?” he said before a ghost-like blade struck him in the leg making him fall to the ground.

“This barrier as well as your coat only affects one plane of existence but we can still use whatever tactics we need to on another plane.” he replied as several other ghost-like weapons struck him.

I stood upright as my jaw bone reformed itself. Crouching before me the masked man was getting shot with several weapons; they pierced his body but left no signs that they had actually penetrated him. He was laughing though. It was a faint chuckle but I could still hear it.

“Scott! Get back!” I yelled but it was too late. The masked man lunged forward and hit Scott in the chest. A shockwave passed over my body as Scott was sent flying back into a building. He toppled to the ground and he coughed up a small pool of blood. The only movement I could see from him was the twitching of his fingers.

“I may only be able to protect myself from physical attacks but I can absorb the energy from those attacks no matter what plane of existence they’re on. Those attacks may have felt like they were going through me but they still have energy.”

“That’s bullshit. There’s no way that something that convenient exists.” I yelled out, unable to comprehend the absolutely overpowered bullshit he was spueing.

“Now it’s your turn.” he said before appearing beside me in an instant. I tried to move but instead his fist struck my temple and sent me flying into the wall of the bridge again. This time however I flipped over it and fell onto the water below. Because of the barrier I didn’t sink into it but laid on top. However the effect of the running water still caused me to move with the current. Like a water conveyer belt.

“Now that that’s dealt with I better take care of that sorcerer and this annoying barrier.” the masked man said to himself. My consciousness faded quickly and I saw the stars. Why was I in the world of stars?

“Tim, why am I here?”
