《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Beginnings - Part Ninety-Three

The Fake masked man lunged at the real masked man. He launched his fist at the real masked man but it was over. The real masked man disappeared, then reappeared behind him. He slid his blade into its sheath before turning around to face the fake masked man.

“Impossible, the robe protects me from all physical attacks.” he sputtered out before his head fell from his body and the rest of him collapsed to the ground. A pool of blood seeped out onto the bridge in a trail that led into the canal below.

“The robe was useless after the runes were gone. My blade absorbs any magic it touches, including the magic used in runes. You were just too ignorant to notice.” the real masked man said before walking back over the bridge from where he came.

Iscarat ran up to the bridge. “Micheal. Is that really you?” he called out. The masked man stopped and turned back towards the old sorcerer.

“Been a while Iscarat. How are you doing old friend?”

“Fairly well. Would you mind healing the two idiots before you disappear again?”

“Of course not. They have a perfectly good witch with plenty of skill to do that.”

“You’re an absolute bastard.” Iscarat said with a chuckle. The masked man turned back with a wave and continued over the bridge. The clanking of his metal shoes echoed throughout the area before coming to an abrupt silence.

Iscarat turned as well and walked over to Scott who was still lying face down on the cobblestone. He rolled him over onto his back and checked to see if his heart was still beating. It was thankfully.

“So you know the mask man?” Scott asked with a groan.

“You would be surprised at how many people I know.”

“So what is he?”

“I have no idea. All I can say is he is powerful.”

“I saw him. It was impressive.”

“How could you see any of that when you were face down in the dirt?”

“I could see it out of the corner of my eye. Now where is Lou?”

“He kind of floated down the canal.”

“Is he okay.”

“Maybe. I was too busy keeping the barrier up to do anything.”

“Well, give me my flask and go find him. Elysif can heal me up once she gets over here.”

“Okay.” Iscarat replied before pulling a flask out of his pocket and handing it to scott. Then he started to jog down the canal as well as an old man could. A few moments after he left, Elysif came running up.

She stopped over him and pulled out a vial, which she dumped all over him. Scott clenched his teeth as it sizzled like hot oil. A salty aroma wafted off of him like steam that burned Elysif and his nostrils.

“Damnit Elysif, give me a little warning next time!” he yelled.

“A thank you would be appreciated. Now that the external stuff is dealt with let me see about the internal damage.” Elysif replied sassily before feeling around his body. He winced in pain wherever she touched.

“You suck.”

“Well, you have several broken ribs, and a broken arm. There may be more damage but I will have to do a more thorough examination at the apartment. Until then take this.” She said, giving him a vial.

“What is it?”

“Same thing I poured on you.”

“Then why would I drink it? It burned like hell.”

“Do you want to repair your damaged organs or not?”

“Fine.” he said before taking the vial in one gulp and crying out in pain.

“Well, that’s what you get for fighting someone that powerful.”

“No, it hasn’t kicked in yet. It just tasted like absolute ass.”

“Just wait.” she said right as he curled up in a ball and shrieked. “There it is.”
