“So you know your way around here lover, or should I call you Ely?” I said in an almost mocking tone.

“Please don’t. It’s embarrassing when you ask like that. You are technically my lover and it worked as an excuse.” she said. I couldn’t see her face from behind but I could tell her cheeks were red from embarrassment.

“But what about the whole Ely thing?”

“It’s a nickname. I want to unwind a little every now and then so I would come here. I made a drug that stops hangovers if you take it in the morning so I also started selling it to the pub owner. The extra funds help out a little but I could never tell Scott that I frequent this place. When he and Silva took me in he started acting like an older brother so he gets a little overprotective sometimes.”

“...”

“What?” she turned around and asked. Her face was bright red with embarrassment. You know this side of her was actually pretty adorable.

“Oh, it’s just that I never knew you thought of him like that. It always seemed like you two were always at odds but were forced to work together. It makes more sense now.”

“So what are you going to do with that information?”

“Nothing. You aren’t hurting yourself by coming here and it’s not like Scott needs to know everything about you. You have a personal life that is completely up to you so why should I hinder it?”

“You know you almost sounded like a productive member of society there for a second.”

“And I wasn’t before?”

“Not at all.” she said as we walked onto the deck. There was no one around so we walked to the door near the rear of the boat. Elysif opened it and walked inside. I followed her down some stairs into the lower deck where another door sat. She opened that as well to reveal a bar. We walked in and saw that there was no one inside.

“Wait here for a second would you.” Elysif asked.

“Of course.” I replied before she started walking towards the back behind the bar and through another door.

Upon going through the door Elysif saw the deformed barkeep laying on a cot asleep. Beside him were several books that didn’t seem related at all. Some were of magic and others were mystery novels. The room didn’t have much else in it other than booze but she knew that this was also his room whenever he didn’t want to go home.

“Bonaparte? I need some help.” she said. The barkeep rolled over and looked at her for a second before giving her a glare and rolling back over.

“I’m busy Ely, now go away.” he said in a sort of half asleep fashion.

“If you could just give me some information then I’ll leave.”

“How about you give me something and I’ll give you the information you want?”

“What do you want?”

“Opium.”

“Fine, how much?”

“However much you think this information is worth.”

“Okay then, two of the usual doses for you.”

“That’s good enough. What information do you need.” he said getting up and walking out the same door she just entered from. She followed him out and sat at the bar while he grabbed two glasses from behind the counter and a bottle of scotch.

“I was wondering if you’ve heard anything about a werewolf recently?”

He turned around to set the glasses down but instead of setting them down he dropped them on the floor. They shattered as they struck and he even nearly dropped the bottle of scotch with them.
