《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Not Forgotten - Part 026

After their dinner SIlva and Scott returned to the apartment. Elysif returned not long after them looking very tired and smothered in the scent of herbs. She sat down on the couch and spread herself out. Scott who was currently writing the report for the Chimera incident looked over at her and lifted an eyebrow.
“So how was your lesson today?” he asked.
“We went over surgical practices for an hour. Then he had me create potions non stop for several hours and I spilled a quarter of them on me right before I left. Which I then had to clean up.” She replied with a yawn.
“I bet Dolfly wasn’t happy about that.”
“Not at all. He told me I would have to work to repay the amount of ingredients that were wasted.”
“Good.”
“How is that good?”
“Silva and I have to go to Canary Wharf tomorrow so you need to find something to do while we are away. You can go provide him with some help in the morning.”
“But why can’t I go with you two?”
“Because it might be dangerous and we would feel better if you didn’t get put in a position to have to use your blood magic.”
“I understand. Where is Silva?”
“She drank a little too much as always so she went to bed early.”
“Okay, by the way When is Compton visiting again?”
“I don’t know. Could be a few years since he can only come by when he has a job near here.”
“That’s sad. I wish he could come by more often.”
“You only want him to visit because he gives you fancy gifts.”
“I don’t! He’s just a lot more fun than you.”

“That’s because I have to act like a parent with you. Silva spoils you so I have to be the hard ass.”
“Well, at least you know you’re a hard ass.”
“Just go to sleep. You have a long day with Dolfly tomorrow.”
“Alright.” she said getting up and heading to the room on the left. Scott finished writing his report before going to the room on the right and getting in bed with SIlva who had already been asleep for a while. The next day Silva and Scott got up early and headed to Canary Wharf. The smell of the saltwater river became stronger the closer they got. Several buildings for storing and repairing boats lined the water but very few boats were docked.
“As always most of the boats have left for the day.” Silva said.
“We’ll probably have to wait until tonight before we can search any boats so we might as well narrow down which ones may be connected.”
“Agreed. Which means no sleep for us tonight.”
“Sadly…”
“What do you want to do for lunch?”
“I hear there is a nice restaurant near here that gets fresh fish from the Wharf. We could meet up there.”
“Is this going to be like the last time you thought someplace existed and we both wandered around looking for it and only stopping when we ran into each other?”
“I hope not. How about this? We meet up at that building around noon.” Scott said, pointing to a brick longhouse on the edge of the river.
“Sounds like a good idea. Then we can be lost together.”
“I am pretty sure this place exists though. We just have to find it.”
“Can we just focus on the reason we are here now?”
“Of course, Sorry.”

It was dirty. They were respected, certainly, but in the sort of way that one respects a skilled plumber - grateful to have the job done, but glad it isn't your arms elbow deep in dung.
